OK so now the gloved one just switched the dishes back AFTER fertilization.

So it looks like Belle's egg was fertilized by Shawn's sperm as I thought. But now their second child will be implanted into mimi or mimi's surrogate.

Mimi and Philip's kid will be carried by Belle.

However the couples don't know about the sperm. They will think that Belle is carrying Mimi and Shawn's baby. But they will be wrong, it will be Mimi and Philips kid.

If the surrogate is actually working for the gloved hand, it could be a plot to steal the Shelle baby.

No idea why (unless it's a Dimera thing).

Based on the previews did I hear a tray crash? Did the nurse just knock over the tray labeled Mimi Brady that really contains Belle and Shawn's baby????

Who cares about this storyline anymore. Too confusing and annoying. Just rid all 4. But all in all, awful episode.

Well, I'm waiting for the writer's mess to be over with. I'm not patient enough to watch, but will follow the daily threads and see if anything of interest is happening. I'll be watching again when Beth's take over begins airing and hopefully her stuff catches my eye. If it doesn't not, I'll definitely tune back come September for Hogie's stuff.

Still too many stories happening in one episode. Just in today's:

The IVF quad

Sami/EJ/Austin and Max/Chelsea/Stephanie at the club

Carrie and Lucas honeymoon

Steve and Kayla

Jack / Jennifer / Frankie

The IVF stuff was beyond absurd, as usual. I hit mute most of the time. It's just insulting to watch.

I would have ignored the Carrie/Lucase stuff (because I detest that quad too) but Brian Datillo's just too darn likeable for me to mute or ff through. I like him better in scenes without Carrie though.

I was suprised that I didn't want to zap past the stuff at the club but it was okay. Not compelling, but it didn't make me want to gouge my eyes out. So based on Sami's conversaiton with Austin, did she decide to invite Chelsea to be her bridesmaid because she thinks she's not pretty? And they want us to think Stephanie is the gloved hand? I guess that means she isn't. I like that she laughed off Chelsea's attempt to screw with her.

The Jack/Jennifer/Frankie stuff didn't do much for me today. I think Jack has to be awake and in the scenes for me to care. Couldn't the writers have shown Frankie's discovery of the clinical trial to be after hours or days of searching for information rather than something that apparently popped up on the first page of a Google search? It's really not that hard to add a tiny bit of depth to the scenes.

Still, the Abby/Jennifer scene was very, very touching and believable to me. The Lord's Prayer made me tear up and I'm not religious.

I thought the Steve/Kayla scenes were pretty well-written, especially in comparison with some of the other stuff. Right now, they're both being written pretty true to character - Kayla was always chasing and Steve was always trying to play noble with her in the early days. But more than anything I enjoyed the way they talked today. Two people who disagree having an honest conversation about their feelings. What a concept. I think they accomplished a lot in their scenes today. I loved that Kayla's letting herself get annoyed at him and I like that she acknowledged he may never get his memory back. Both are important steps, I think. This version of Steve is still playing things pretty close to the vest but he's still pretty bluntly honest like Old Steve. Admitting that if they slept together now it would only be sex was hurtful but she needed to hear it. I like that he promised to fight for them and asked her not to give up on him. Their chemistry is still off the chart. Now let's stop talking about memory loss and start working to figure out what happened.

BTW, the music in their scene was horrible and distracting (not the bluesy saxaphone, the tinkling piano while they were talking). It was like loud muzak from Hell.

Not the best day to first tune into watching. Nothing endearing at all unless a new viewer would be intrigued by Sami receiving the note and her stunned look, and Max commenting on the ink on Stephanie's hand. Could they tie in? Or, maybe a new viewer would enjoy watching Lucas and Carrie making love or get involved with what was happening with the petrie dishes and clumsiness and who was that black glove spying (like a glove can see  ). The music and scenes with Kayla and Patch might be interesting to a new viewer, too. Obviously there is something true and deeply felt between these two and he doesn't remember it. I think I might tune back in after all.

Sami and Chelsea...I tell you. Does Chelsea stand a chance at reform when she has Grandma Kate and Cousin Sami to steer her?

I haven't seen todays episode but who has whos sperm or egg now? Are you saying that Belle has Shawns baby and the the hand switched the sperms back so Mimi will end up with Shawn's baby too?

  • Member

I think that Belle was implanted with a Phimi baby and that the surrogate will be implanted with a Shelle baby. Not 100% sure since I try to avoid most of the IVF scenes.

I think I might tune back in after all.

Like how you talked yourself into that, Jean :) I agree, there was a good bit to enjoy today.

Today's was better then Monday's but a downgrade from yesterday. But then again SLG wrote yesterday so that is why.

Enjoyed Sami/Chelsea and Sami getting the note. I like the EJ stuff too.

It is obvious they want us to think Stephanie is the hand but she is obviously not  . I like her though and the stuff with her, Max, and Chelsea.

Carrie/Lucas was gag-wothy.

Steve/Kayla good and very well-done. I do like how they are staying true to character with them but I can't wait until the writing mess goes away so they can get some direction.

Belle/Shawn/Mimi/Philip was terrible. I don't know what to make of the hand going back and switching them again. This is becoming a bit too convoluted but now that it appears the hand has done what he/she wanted it should get better now. Fath, Cook, and Brandt are horrendously bad. Poor Martha  .

Jack/Jen/Frankie/Abby was good. I was ok with Frankie finding the trial so quick because he may have been looking before- we just may not have seen him do it. It may have been off screen. Reeves and Benson were great in the prayer scene. I love Frankie though-what a great guy and I just love me some Billy Warlock.

The only days that days seems to be fantastic is when SLG writes. Otherwise, of late, it's just good not great. I can't wait until all this gets straigtened out as far as writing goes because I want things to kick into action but I understand why things are going the way they are. I have patience and I am a fan-I'm not going anywhere :) .

Aside from Fath's acting and Shimi's dialogue, this is the most interesting this group has been since the day Phelle and Shawn/Jan had simultaneous sex. IMO.

Yes you are correct.

First:

The gloved one switched the position of the eggs ONLY not the sperm. Belle was to get Philip and Mimi was to get Shawn's sperm.

Because of the initial switch Belle's egg received Shawn's sperm and Mimi's eggs received Philip Sperm.

THIS IS THE SWITCH that the doctors and the couples don't know about.

Second:

AFTER fertilization the gloved one switched the fertilized eggs on the tray.

Meaning Belle was implanted with Mimi and Philips egg.

Mimi's surogate will get Belle/Shawn.

The couples and the doctors will THINK that Belle was implanted with Mimi and Shawn's baby because they don't know that the samples where switched before.
