According to the new SOW, talks between Easton and OLTL have reached an "impasse" and the writers have been told to write McBain's death

Easton is said to be asking alot more money.

That's too bad.

At this point I hope they do kill off McBain. I always thought ME was a great actor(he was on PC) but since he's been on OLTL he's been like Maurice Benard, just basically phoning it in all the time

I am glad OLTL isn't going to pay him a huge amount to keep him and is going to kill John McBain off. I sometimes like him, sometimes hate him. I will only miss him because he's on so damned much. I just hope they don't hook Natalie up with Vincent, since Tobias Truvilion couldn't act if his life depended on it. I kinda hope Nat and Cris get back together or OLTL just adds a new character for Nat.

While I do not feel John should ever have become the focus of the show and, and while I do feel that OLTL suffered greatly by doing so, the fact of the matter is he IS the focus of the show. It really ticks me off the amount of money ABC has thrown at Ingo R., Tyler C., Maurice and Steve and others to stay at GH but they won't do the same for the actor they made the sole focus of OLTL? It just shows further favoratism of GH. This is especially frustrating given that Tuc is also leaving. That should have opened up a bunch of money.

Of course this may all be a contract negotiation ploy by either side and it will still work out.

Tanner on DAYS had a huge annoying chip on his shoulder.

Caleb was a freaking vampire on PC. Doesn't get more dark than that.

And now John. And besides, John's entire storyline has been dragged out for way too long. WAAAAY too long.

Weren't we just told a few weeks ago that talks were going well and that Easton was THIS close to re-signing? Sounds like show buff to me, and OLTL is famous for doing it.

Ah, Easton wants a lot of money! Well he is on every single day, I thought he would be on the highest paid. I'm not the number one John McBain fan, but it'll be a huge loss for OLTL, but it opens new doors. It kinda sucks they're killing him off, just have him go away.

I didn't think they would kill McBain off... just recast him. Oh well, if he goes he goes... I wish I had the power to demand more money from a job I barely put effort into.
