Have TPTB at BTG forgotten Pamela? If so, too bad they couldn't get Cady on contract.

They have not. Cady is active in the theatre world in New York. She is not based in Georgia, so she travels when she can to film. And to be on contract, she'd likely have to relocate to Georgia full-time, and that isn't where she is right now.

As it stands, and this is no criticism of Cady McClain herself, the character is forgettable, so I totally understand. Not sure why the character was needed when Vanessa exists, though it's hard to decipher who she is closer to in terms of friendship, between Dani and Nicole.

Cady should've been playing Smitty's mother not a friend of Dani's. He is a very isolated core character and having a mother pop up here and there could help his character become more dynamic. It also would work perfectly with the type of screentime she's gotten. I feel like the reason people gravitate more towards Vanessa than Pamela is because we see Vanessa more and have gotten to know her. It would make much more sense if Pamela were Smitty's mom popping in and out to see her son.
