Good episode. They really didn't even need the Y&R people to make this event great. Only Victor really added anything. Victor's speech was great, especially what he said about being touched Martin adopted children, not babies, as he himself was older when he was abandoned. Such a great point.

Diane and Abby looked really great. I've noticed Y&R actresses almost always look better on other shows or even on the Soapy podcast. The styling or lighting on Y&R is terrible. Does Chelsea really go around at her cousin's fundraiser telling everyone she used to do threesomes?

Anastasia and Leslie interacting was fun. Anastasia was spitting truth at Ashley! Ashley's presence added nothing. Maybe being up in the suite, she'll be the first to get blown away.

Disagree, this event surely needed the Y & R characters.. since most of the people at this event were Duprees. It made it a better event.

I think we're stuck with Ashley for awhile just like we're stuck with Leslie/SPS & Hayley for the forseeable future.

  • I personally don't think that disliking White Savior Joey is an indication the character is working. If it's a choice between King Joey and Duprees Strong, I choose neither.

  • There is nothing remotely scary or dangerous about the portrayal of Joey. Literally everything he says is dripping with sarcasm and zero menace. Also the writing of Joey as just the smartest person th

Are we sure Victor didn't get a sendoff scene? Did I miss something?

Obviously, the two soaps are not in sync and Victor is already back home on Y&R. But that doesn't mean he left BTG without a goodbye -- unless I missed something.

Well, SPOILER WARNING for those who care ........

........ on Y&R today, Victor said he got out of Fairmont Crest just before the tornado hit. And since on BTG, the tornado hit at the end of today's episode -- that must mean that Victor was already gone. Unless I missed something.

I wonder if they'll start Thurs June 11 BTG episode with a replay of start of tornado, and maybe someone will mention then what happened on Y&R today re: Victor.

Just a friendly FYI, this isn't that big of a spoiler but if you click the + sign next to the bold button, there's an option to post an actual spoiler tag.

Today was an entertaining episode for me. I no longer watch Y&R so the criticisms about synchronicity of characters (apparently Diane is supposed to be missing?) is lost on me. I continue to like how group scenes are filmed (has someone been reading the ATWT thread at any time over the last few years?). Because of the large cast of characters and extras, I don't think there is as much room for camera movement as there was for the cotillion. The dialogue could be stilted at times between characters, but I tried to overlook it because the dialogue itself was well-intentioned even when it didn't exactly roll off the actors' tongues.

Leslie continues to be out of pocket with Ted but her scenes with Diane were genuinely interesting, Leslie really seemed interested in how Diane was able to get back into people's good graces, even though she didn't seem to like the answer.

Is there a reset coming for Vanessa because if she were to disappear, I wouldn't miss her. She seems highly entitled and insufferable. At this point, I don't even know whether bringing back her kids would make any difference since she seems to care for them so little. Whatever they're doing isn't working for me, personally and it feels like she's taking up too much screen real estate, so to speak.

If the NAACP were truly worried about the possibility of having a Black underworld figure, Power, the television series would not have gotten so many NAACP nominations and awards over the years. Not to mention The Godfather of Harlem series, about an actual Black mob boss, Bumpy Johnson, has gotten numerous nominations from the NAACP. To me, the pressing issue is about one of power dynamics, who appears to have it but doesn't versus who actually holds the power. If you're going to have an underworld boss, it might actually be interesting to have a Black woman in that seat of influence and power.

Nonetheless, I look forward to the next episode.

The social media cross-promotion for both soaps for the crossover has been fantastic, really really great. (it's in the special spoiler thread for the crossover.) Great until they didn't tell the BTG actresses that Matt Clark is a rapist.

BINGO! The Duprees, despite all of their money and status, appear powerless. Someone elsewhere even labeled them as the black Brady Bunch. 😆

Joey and Heather are criminals displaying actual power. Feels very much done on purpose.

The Y&R actors must be wondering WTH is going on when they're the #1 show with a budget of $1.98 and BTG can turn on this kind of event with extras, costumes, special effects etc.

After they just did one just as big last month! EB definitely hinted at it. I bet they'd be embarrassed to have their BTG colleagues come to their show for a leisurely coffee and cocktail.

BTG must be selling a lot of Tide for P&G. A cotillion and tornado within a month. This show has those good P&G production values.
