And I love it!

Do you see her as a villain? I kind of... do. She was a gray character and that was good, but now she is straight up villainous. But, we're supposed to see her as a layered heroine, like Dani.

to be fair to Shanice, she was out of town for a couple of weeks and off screen. And Anita has been the main medical crisis so I dont think we can exclude her

I would have said the same re: excluding Anita, but since the posts I was seeing seem to be ignoring that about Ashley and Shanice, it was part of the reason I excluded them in the first place.

I absolutely don't think we're supposed to see her like that.

Vanessa started out as a tragic, troubled comedic character and has morphed (well before the writing change) into a delusional woman who's been plunged into a dark world on a power trip who is pursuing an obsessive, doomed romance with a bad man she doesn't know murdered her husband. Every day she rhapsodizes about how good Joey is for her, the writers are driving the nails deeper. Intentionally.

I think she's a gray character who is making a tragic fool of herself, but that's part of the drama for me. I do not think she is being presented as a positive heroine. That's not the show I'm watching, so I've never had issues with Vanessa or LB's performance. I think Vanessa's stories and dysfunctional character arc has been one of the few consistently and intelligently layered and nuanced since Day 1, and I think Bugliogi is killing it. I've been saying that for over a year. That's JMO, I don't need everyone to agree. The things that enrage people about Vanessa are just features of her storyline to me. I get why they make people angry. She's a delulu person!

Not the cliffhanger I was wanting for Friday.

That said...that next week promo...wow. Old plot shoutout, a clear fantasy from Kirsten Dimera, and Dark Vernon? Yes, please.

I think early Vanessa had more layers and was close to a gray character, but I think the fact that she was sleeping with Joey the night Doug passed.. and quickly latched onto Joey not too long after Doug's death is where she tipped the scale over from gray character into a more dark character with less layers.

Is it due to the writer change, or just the show deciding to take advantage of the chemistry between JL and LB, I don't know.

If she's doing all this in order to nail Joey for Doug's death, the writers have done a bad job of giving hints of that.

I admit that I really liked that with her and Jan today. And it felt natural given it was a wacky mama and a semi-wacky daughter. It could just be me.

But where is Febreze???

The actress has a sense of humor )

Hayley's eavesdropping was a highlight of the episode for me. It was a throwback to small, classic soap opera devices.

Grayson had a breakthrough on rather or not he is a character to root for. He is redeemable despite getting involved in the plasma scheme.
