It's almost as though someone launched into the initial design of "27 spectacular sets" without much foresight into where the show would be in six months (or even in six weeks). Did Ashley Morgan really need an apartment more than Vanessa McBride needed a living room? Ashley quickly evolved into a fairly minor character, and Vanessa's role has steadily grown. She's a Realtor for pete's sake, who started out in a fairly complex marriage with a physician husband and now has a (slimy) beau and two college-aged children but still has no house. To me, that was poor planning from the get-go. And when a new living room finally DID arrive, it mysteriously went to Joey instead of Vanessa, and it has a bizarrely situated fireplace that will look ludicrous in warm weather and is noticeably difficult to shoot around. Anita and Vernon received a massive vestibule and foyer, but no dining room. Another bad choice from the start, especially considering they're matriarch and patriarch of a very large family that often gathers at their house for mandatory family meetings. The police station is unnecessarily spacious -- complete with soda machines, office equipment, and numerous extras milling about in the background -- when a small detective's office for Jacob would have made better budget sense. This ain't a "police show" -- it merely features a character who's a detective and who sometimes meets with Elon, or Marcel, or an arrested person, all of which could be accomplished in Jacob's (small) office. Joey was given a (hideous and) distinctive backroom for his casino, when a simple office (with casino sound effects in the background) would have been much cheaper and much easier to look at it. His office, with a few alterations, could have also doubled as Naomi's office, and as Martin's office in the Capitol. They didn't ask for my input, but I would've been happy to give it 😅
10 hours ago10 hr Member At the risk of being laughed at I'll add my 2 cents.Giving Jacob/Naomi a bedroom was a choice and they had to later redress it as a living room. Which shows they can redress a set quite effectively. Then Nicole got an office off her living room which I don't think we have seen for quite a while. Whereas Vernon/Anita need an extra room more.Caffeine Fix seemed to start off as a thrown together space which came into play when they realized there weren't enough meeting places. It's been changed since then. Now they are mentioning The Atrium, which I think is the complex where Caffeine Fix is located.Remember in the first ep we saw the foyer of Bill/Hayley's house. Where did it go? And have we seen the reception area at Bill's office lately? Hayley/Tomas could have met there rather than the coffee shop.Yes, they needed to think/plan better at the start in terms of sets and occupations.

4 hours ago4 hr Member I think The Atrium is like this spot in New Orleans. Caffeine Fix is a vendor in a food court. Can we leave politics out of this space? I don't like Erika Kirk, either, but this is not the time or place. The opps are everywhere ready to start a fight.

I hope their relationship is for the long haul.I genuinely do not understand Hayley being so upset. I really do not. She does not love Bill, or so she claims, so why would it matter? She is doing way too much. Finally, someone is asking why Ted has yet to move out of the hotel. That is an important question to ask.Not Shanice getting the tea on Garland as if she did not work there. And not Lia becoming sus to everyone. Very interesting.Martin, going for the Senate? That is a bold aspiration. But at least it is not the President of the United States like he wanted last year.Next time to commit, it will be forever? Oh, Ted just doomed his relationship with Shanice with those lines. Damn.Nicole's cause for concern, especially where Joey is concerned, is very important for Martin to take on.So sweet of Tomas to make a Katherine-centric salsa night at Uptown. I know I would be feeling so special.Bill's briefs? Huh? Nice tongue-in-cheek wording that also gives some insight into Bill's choice of underwear. Ha. And of course he is confronting Hayley about her closing the account. Again, a con artist that sucks at their so-called profession."Sex Me Up Chicken"? Oh la-la. That does sound appetising if you ask me.Another very thoughtful gift from Tomas for Katherine. I hope she genuinely appreciates it.OH CRAP! I did not see Grayson getting stabbed! Damn. Ren is not playing around, is he? That felt less of a warning and more of a direct message. Poor Grayson.Notes:Another great script day today! Amazing, natural flow!Timon Kyle Durrett's (Bill) suit coat was a bit too tight in the upper arm area today. It should not be pulling in the way it was today.Love the continued inclusion of Alex Alegria's (Tomas) real-life dancing in the soap. Amazing. The two different types of breast implants on Ted's desk are hilarious. I cannot help but laugh at them just being so out in the open, but it is natural for his type of profession.

1 hour ago1 hr Member -- Looks like ANOTHER doorway exit was added to The Airport Mall Caffeine Fix Coffee Shop Atrium -- PLUS mood lighting. They're working so hard to make that set work. 😂😂-- Hayley was SO over-the-top in her anger towards Bill. I love it that she's such a dumb criminal.-- I hope to God Bill isn't going to buy Hayley's pathetic excuse about withrawing humdreds of thousands of dollars and then "clicking wrong" when trying to put it back in their "main account."-- I guess the writers think having Tomas say "abuelita" a half dozen times warms up his character.-- Grayson's mother must have a lot of medical bills. Why else would he need to have 17 jobs?-- The Grayson stabbing would have been so much more impactful if they hadn't given it away last Friday in the previews for this week. 1 hour ago1 hr Member Before it gets too crowded and me too distracted again...I wanted to say that I agree with what Vee said yesterday or the day before yesterday about my favorite BBFs. No matter how much she has grown in the last year and a half...and she has grown in spite of her one step forward, two step backwards approach...I also feel that quite a few people have never fully forgiven Dani for that first month of gun-trotting, over-the-top-being craziness. And while she is still a lot (ironically mellowing down to just a soap diva), that does not take away from the fact that Dani has at least showed signs of growth. Whether those stuck in Month 1 believe it or not. I could never imagine the Dani of the first few months sitting down like she did recently talking about being insecure about returning to any form of modeling. I could not imagine the Dani of the first few months currently being in a marriage at all with Andre. And of course, I cannot imagine the Dani of the first few months NOT throwing hands on Silk Press Sheila by this point. lol.Now Vanessa on the other hand...The flipped side to that (besides people already did not like her from GO, the character NOT the actress), I thought that Vanessa was highly well developed and had beautiful shades of gray. You may not like her, but you understood her. Even with her issues with Doug, Vanessa was developed in a way that you understood or could read between the lines. Where she fell foul was when she started to flirt with Joey. Then she fell for Joey. And even then, I felt both of them were still well-developed. Even when they were not liked...which was most of the time last year. So when they were the center of the week as the most developed and well-paced of the B plots then, I already knew there were going to be complaints. Some of which were very constructive which I loved, but some just wanted them (well, Joey) off the screen. Which for all the issues was a shame because they were at least giving soap drama and good pacing. Where my like for the story fell was post-Doug's death because Vanessa has completely stopped being any hint of three-dimensional or shades of gray and is just whiny and frankly annoying. A cardboard heroine...and she's not even a heroine...more like a...Jacinta...if you catch my drift from the GH board. While Dani has developed, Vanessa has...regressed? She cries at the drop of a hat now where she used to be cunning. Crafty. But still funny. Where did that WOMAN go?
