While the network initially aired a limited number of episodes of “Beyond the Gates” within weeks of the show’s premiere last year to help build interest, BET is formally making the daytime drama series a regular fixture in its lineup with a Thursday night programming block, dubbed “T.G.I.G,” which stands for “Thank Goodness It’s Gates,” featuring a marathon of episodes from Season 1.

Filled with secrets, scandals, and all the moments fans can’t stop talking about, the weekly marathon kicks off on Thursday, March 5, starting at 7:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. CT, kicking off with the show’s first three episodes.

The series premiere opened Daphnée Duplaix as Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson driving her expensive Black Mercedes-Maybach S-Class through Fairmont Crest as she makes her way to the Fairmont Country Club to meet her mother, Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) and sister, Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) for breakfast. Licensed music featuring The Emotions’ classic song “Best of My Love” plays throughout the establishing scene. Following her arrival, Nicole can be seen exiting her vehicle, looking exquisite in her designer coat and matching skirt with a sleek black top.

“Get ready to say, ‘Thank goodness for scandals, thank goodness for drama, and thank goodness for ‘Beyond the Gates,'” enthuses an announcer in a promo shared across the network’s social platforms, which also notes all-new episodes from the current second season of the series continue to air weekdays on CBS.

Set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, D.C. in one of the most affluent African American counties in the United States, “Beyond the Gates” follows an affluent Black family who holds court over Fairmont Crest, a posh gated community that’s the center of luxury with wealthy residents harboring deep secrets.

The series was created by Emmy Award-winning writer Michele Val Jean, who also serves as showrunner, executive producer and head writer.
