I'm starting to suspect Maxie deciding for Spinelli in one day was done for budget, to wrap up Spinelli's story so he won't have to appear. Has he appeared since Maxie made the decision?

No, lol. But I am sure they had a lovely talk off screen that was very romantic.

I am joking. Maxie did tell Spinelli about her decision, but he hasn't appeared since then. He's gotta take care of Maxie's brood of kids.

I think Orman and Lauria are dead, too.

They're still alive, although I am not sure if they are still acting.

Belated, but Big Willz getting Drew dressed up like Tegan & Sara in the comfy fit and murmuring "I hope you will set aside whatever feelings you have for me" followed by Scout coming in and asking "Daddy, are you okay?" to her paralyzed father locked in an eternal rictus pose of deathless agony is absolute camp gold.

Why is Maxie dressed and styled like Audrey Hardy? I'm just asking questions.

Ha! Ugly crochet sweater vest thingy aside, I think Maxie dresses like she's a teenager. With her Converse and jeans, I have a hard time believing she's the driving force behind Deception. It's better than KS's big old sweaters, but there has to be something in between Brook Lynn's Amish wear and Maxie stealing clothes from her daughter's closet. I don't especially like Kirsten's haircut either, but we have seen much worse from Storms so I'll let it slide.

Mulcahey's brief run made me believe it for the first time ever, because the writing for her (and SpinellI) was much sharper in that period. Today I can buy it or not buy it a bit, but I'd still have Lucy (and Serena) sneakily take full control back from Maxie, Tracy and BLQ. While leaving Maxie in a position at the company and awaiting Brenda's involvement. Deception is Lucy's company, period, and it's time they stopped running her down over it.

Maxie did look better later on this week. And yes, Kirsten has looked far worse. But that red Laura Bush blazer with the helmet of hair was a bit much.

And Maxie was wearing jeans and a big old chain belt with that blazer IIRC. I have given up trying to figure out Kirsten's style years ago. I really don't like it. Kirsten looks healthy so that's good at least.

They do need to shake Deception up a bit. It has become far too campy or cheap? I don't know exactly what I am trying to say but Sasha and Blaze as their models? The off brand Home Shopping Network? Lucy should have never stooped to that level. Could you imagine Brenda being the face for Deception now? That would be so beneath her lol. Both Tracy and Lucy are way too snobby to resort to this sort of nonsense to keep the company alive.

Sasha and Blaze was crazy. The HSN thing is crazy. The fact that the company seems constantly about to collapse while all their scenes are still about how genius BLQ and Maxie are and how stupid Lucy is (who kept it a global success for years), also crazy. It's all so low rent. And yet very Frank. I'm fine with giving Susan Batten and Morgan a little work to keep their insurance, but let them pop up from time to time as the Greek Chorus working in the Deception boutique at the Metro Court or as traveling spokespeople or something.

I would have Lucy and Serena scheme to take it back, then have Brenda cap it off with her own capital and star power. Maxie can stay on but the rest (other than perhaps Tracy as an investor) can hit da bricks!

Yes. Deception wasn't even a makeup company. It's a perfume company and now it sells skincare? It's fine to pivot, but Frank didn't really do the research on it. Lucy/Brenda are the two characters I associate Deception with and now it's just a company with the same name for "history" sake. Didn't Lucy have her own cosmetics company when she came back? I thought Lucy decided to bring Deception back when her company folded because of the vampire delusions, I think? Lol. I dislike they make Lucy a running joke because she was always successful.

Lucy and Serena scheming to bring back the original perfume and re-launching with some splashy party and having Brenda show up as the surprise new shareholder and model would be amazing. Honestly, kick BLQ out and have her focus on producing or singing or baby making or something, have Maxie team up with Nina at Crimson and let Lucy, Brenda, and Serena run Deception. Tracy can stay being a thorn in Lucy and Brenda's sides.

Yes, she did. CoeCoe Cosmetics, which was allegedly doing great worldwide until it immediately collapsed for plot purposes lol. Then they brought Deception back and Lucy still runs/owns part of the company she founded yet somehow she is still doing fúckin' local real estate on the side. Why? How? Why is she showing Sidwell and Curtis houses in her off hours?? It's nonsensical.

BLQ can go back to some L&B or Quartermaine drama. She never had a place at Deception other than Frank's plot economy. And Nina would not be too long for the show in my book though I love what Watros has done with the role in recent times; I'd write her out probably within a year. She could maybe pop in and out from time to time for Willow drama after leaving town but Crimson would go to someone else. She was originally a nepo heiress taking it over in the first place, it was never in her blood like Kate/Connie. Maybe give it to Maxie outright, I don't know.

Lol! Jacinda will probably inherit Crimson.

I would have wrote Nina out ages ago, but she doesn't bother me much these days. Why did Maxie even leave Crimson in the first place? Did she get fired? What exactly are her and BLQ's "skills"? They all sort of just dabbled at college IIRC.

With Maxie choosing Spinelli, all this drama over Lulu and Nathan feels so fake and manufactured, like the drama between Dante and Gio, and how the drama between Willow and Alexis is starting to feel.

We had all the angst about not being good enough for her already. He should be witnessing Maxie’s visible anger about this pairing and that is what makes his insecurity boil over. I thought the whole things felt rushed. They do this a lot- skip the building and just go straight to the story they want to tell, until they are bored with it.

The best version of James Reilly would be so proud of this. It’s right in his wheelhouse, although Willow has to have sex with Chase right next to Drew propped up or in line of sight to complete it.

One thing @Vee and I are going to keep doing is plotting for Serena to return. I love it!

And I agree, Maxie should be at Crimson. But I also get why they use Deception. Everything about it is more fun. But Lucy should never be completely onboard with anyone else at Deception calling the shots. It was deeply rooted in her character growth. That tiny ELQ percentage she used to have and Deception moved her away from scheming vixen.

I have been a pretty big advocate of Spixie, but I wonder if Bradford's availability screws up timing. I believe it's by his own choice and when you combine that with KS's long-term absences I feel like we miss beats. I know they block tape and all that, but PM's run seems like the last time Spinelli/Maxie were written coherently. I do wonder if we are at the point where we give Spixie a splashy wedding, send them off, and revisit them later if necessary. Mac loves raising other people's children so you can always keep a recast Georgie and James with them. Spixie can take the infant or give it to Brook Lynn. I don't really care lol.

Wow, I thought they had died! My bad, lol!

Sorry, but I'd end Deception. "As a matter of fact/right away like today."
