  • McClain and Karla Mosley (Dani) light up in their shared scenes. They have a palpable chemistry that makes me truly buy them as lifelong friends.

I agree and was going to say the same thing. The smiles and laughs from Karla during those scenes with Cady seem genuine. They have such a great rapport. I just wish we could get more episodes from Cady.

Yes, we need more episodes with Cady. TPTB have made the character too important to show up for only two episodes every couple of months. And that part (such limited appearances) is not working, in my opinion. I do realize Cady is not on contract and she doesn't live in Atlanta. But if TPTB could convince her to shoot twice as many scenes as she typically does while in Atlanta, those scenes could be spread out over more episodes which would make her absences less obvious. For example, if Cady typically flies to Atlanta for two days to shoot scenes, ask her to stay for four days and shoot even more scenes. That plan would not involve additional trips to Atlanta, but simply asks her to stay a bit longer each time she visits. She can shoot scenes that can be used in episodes two or three weeks later, or maybe even a month later.

Or better yet, just offer Cady a contract and make her a regular.

Drunk, volatile Nicole was the most relatable I've found her in quite awhile. Frankly they should've let those scenes be with Kial Rollins. I want to see that side of her as opposed to the serene earth mother more often, and I want to see it with Greg Vaughan. I also liked Anita openly critiquing the myth of 'the Duprees.'

It was very interesting how they contrasted Nicole's minor crashout with Dani and Andre coping maturely while blissfully in love. You compare that to a little over a year ago where Dani was binge-drinking and passing out daily.

Dani once again is running to Bill for no good reason. She does not need to lean on him when she has a husband. Meanwhile, Hayley wants to kill Bill, but is still indignant over his connection to Dani. Hayley is King Magazine, Dani is Essence and a King Magazine thot does not like be depriortized for some bougie Essence model.

@Maxim COME GET YOUR GIRL!!!! She's acting like Kristen Dimera again...right down to talking to herself! lol.

Well, I see this week is off to a great start. While there's no sign of Anita (but explained), it's nice to explore another angle from her story. In this case, the reveal that Dani has the gene. I was living for the Dani/Nicole scenes.

I do admit that I am finding it a little odd that it seems like such a bigger deal when it seem like Nicole was a carrier...well worry coming from her kids Martin and especially Kat. While it feels like something is definitely going on with Naomi in the reaction scenes, it really does not seem as major (?) as it seem from Martin and Kat. I guess the writing just needs more time to feel out Naomi and Chel's individual POVs. We got weeks of stories out of Kat and her feelings and some for Martin's. I wonder if Naomi and Chels will get more of the same.

I admit that I like that there has been an uptake in Ted/Andre scenes. It was getting to be as rare as Ted/Martin scenes. With his scenes with Shanice, too, it felt like the impossible might be happening. I might be coming around to Ted. And awww at Andre trying to mend fences between Ted and Carlton.

Bill...HOW DARE YOU!!!! It feels natural? REALLY?? I didn't like his dialogue at all. After all, he LEFT her. Thank God, Andre (and Sean) stepped it up and let Bill know what time it is! Good to have the Bill/Dani/Andre triangle active.

And oh my God! That red dress! The hair! The camera angle! The...talking to herself! Hayley continues to channel Kristen Dimera and I...AM...LIVING. It was hilarious. And I hope that Tomas hearing her is another way for him to wind up exiting the canvas. Good cliffhanger.

Ashley continues to be better as supporting.

SPS/Marcel give me Intolerable Cruelty vibes (the 2003 George Clooney & Catherine Zeta Jones movie) in their scenes with one another. Curious to see if they'll find out the others secrets and try to one up each other in this... me hopes so :)

Pamela was written like an actual character today and Cady was able to find a good balance between the more outlandish elements and the supportive friend elements... and her transatlantic accent has settled in nicely.

Nice to see Vanessa/Nicole being honest with one another.

Bill... you do understand SPS doesn't like you... right?

-- Good to see Cady M back. I've grown to appreciate how over-the-top and affected her performance is.

-- "It was all a dream" is a soap staple, but I don't think this one worked. I have no idea why, with everything going on in her life, Dani would think of Hayley approaching her with test results.

-- Did someone tell Robert Christopher Riley to play Carlton like he's somnambulant? It doesn't come off as mature and professional, but as boring and soulless.

-- I get the soapy reasons for keeping Dani in Bill's life, but I wish she didn't return to Bill time and time again for support. I just can't forget all this man has done to her.

-- I continue to be amused by comments declaring the breakdown a mess, followed by over a dozen comments about how awesome every aspect of the episode was 😂

Ashley is much improved opposite a seasoned actor. Jen Jacob was working those scenes like she knows this is her last shot at getting paid twice a week lol. She and Jordi did have chemistry and the dialogue was decent, I'll give it a whirl.

I swear Carlton's crazy-ass beard grows like a Chia Pet in anxious situations. It sprouted wild in like 2-3 episodes.

That is actually something I will blame Ron for. He used to use that one a lot, straight out of the JER school. I grew to hate it.

Yeah, you're right about that. It's definitely a Ron C thing that he uses way too much.

I did think the sequence was good at least, unlike a lot of them. Hayley's lines were indeed straight out of the Kristen DiMera playbook, and Marquita sold it beautifully.

The acting was good, but that wasn't my point. It might have worked if the fantasy was in Hayley's head, but it didn't make any sense coming from Dani.

I can see it coming from her as her imagining her enemy capitalizing on her weakest moment.

So now we're defending the breakdown?
