Ah. Shows how much attention I pay. They will probably say Marco has him held prisoner.

Or Selina had Brad shoot Drew, which is one of the dumbest ideas I can conceive of but which I think is definitely possible lol. Either way, he's coming. They've hyped his return up with constant mentions from both Britt and Lucas recently and we're going to get him.

I don't think the show has any real commitment to LGBT story atm, but I do think there's been people in the writers' room for years who just loooove Britt and Brad together and so that's why we have this angle returning. I can't stand either one.

As we have discussed before, scrap Britt, whatever the recurring rates are for Valentin and Brad, and put that coin in the offer and give us Brenda.

Jason and Sonny immediately have story, and they could finally go there with Guza’s 2002 plan to pair Jason with Brenda. Brenda can also be quippy and bitchy when written correctly. She was always a smartass, especially towards Carly. Let her walk in the door with some kind of secret and also as the buyer in a hostile takeover of Deception, working with Lois. And Brenda’s plot point son can be the HBIC gay man they have always wanted.

Both Marco/Sidwell holding Brad prisoner and/or Selena having Brad shoot Drew are seriously viable options sadly enough. Neither would surprise me.

We know Frank has issues with Brenda/Vanessa, but at what point does the show realize they are only hurting themselves by keeping her away?

KT is nowhere near popular enough for a Britt return to do anything. Brenda gives the canvas twice the story Britt could very easily without much effort.

Spending cash on all these recurring players is such a waste. I know Frank's ego plays into a lot of these attempts to make these characters work, but the soap press would consider him a hero if he got Vanessa to return. All the emmys lol.

I suspect it will take more than Thiebaud's salary and JPS' recurring rate to get VM back. But there's plenty of people to fire lol.

Lucy and Cueball have been offscreen banging for awhile. I was annoyed about it before and still kind of am.

But at this point tbh I'd have her get wise to Sidwell, marry him convinced she can finagle the situation (or get blackmailed into it re: Deception, idk) and scheme behind his back for 6-9 months. Carlo Rota is a funny dude and he and Lynn clashing more could be entertaining. And then you can finally kill him off and pull a whole Jonathan Kinder situation with Lucy and some of the girls. Kevin gets involved because he's all worried about Lucy, that sparks a reunion tease, etc. Whatever!

Wait!! I had no idea Lucy/Sidwell were banging!!!! I thought they were tiredly flirting with a few kisses all this time. I am so naive-or just not paying attention.

@Vee Love the story idea with Lucy though.

It was giving Lucy/Duke in 2014-15 for awhile as it was almost entirely offscreen, but I could swear it was confirmed some time ago.

Oh, I don't doubt it was. I just thought they have been flirting this whole time and it was moving at a snails pace since Lucy only appears every so often. When the whole "romance" first started I really thought Lucy was angling at not only the commission for the sale, but something else. Maybe she still is?

Watching Monday and hearing Ned name drop Peter made me wonder if another anvil was falling.

Speaking of which, the only reason I would tolerate Lulu/Nathan (supposing he isn’t really who he says he is) is if they do not have sex, and she figures out the whole plot herself. I do think after what she has been through Lulu would be more nervous in general, but I want the spunk back. It’s bad enough that both her kids were conceived through violations and they both favor the wrong person right now.

Also, they are hyping big bad Valentin! To me he was a crying mess that felt about as threatening as a plate of quivering Jell-O. The only good thing he has ever done is let Laura slap him and be revealed as one of the heads of Pikeman.

They've done this for his entire run, though. They want it both ways. He's so pathetic.

At least the stupid dog caper gave us those amusing scenes with the rescue dogs and my newest avatar.

It’s so pathetic and being telegraphed a mile away. I hope it doesn’t come to pass but I have my doubts. We are about to be dominated by recurring characters again and the actual contract players are going to be the B characters in all their stories again.

The only recurring person I want to see a lot of right now is Ric Lansing, and the occasional drop in with Lucy Coe. Rick Hearst is one of those handful of soap actors that just seems to have chemistry with everyone, even if his character is gross.

Yes, RH has great chemistry with the cast. Plus, he's very easy on the eyes.

Not taking Ric back to being a heel-to-be-damned-by-our-righteous-heroes (yet) has been the most pleasant surprise this year. I hope it lasts.

Ric will always be slime, but he is a strong and fun utility player due to that amorality. I'd still have him and Ava hook up again and have him become DA or even (temporary) Mayor to make more trouble. His relationships with Sonny, Alexis, etc. can still straddle the line despite that stuff for awhile. He has always craved Sonny's love and approval even when he hates him.

I noticed the Mac/Emma interaction the other day mentioned some things that have apparently been happening offscreen.

For one, it was clearly not the first time the two of them had talked about Anna’s abrupt departure, and been concerned about her.  Which also made me remember there was a daily spoiler some time back (before Anna was abducted) that said Emma would be worrying about Anna, but it evidently got cut.

Emma also talked about how close she was with Maxie, and kept wanting to call her.  Not only have we not seen much of Emma missing Macie, other than the day Maxie collapsed, we never really saw them being close beforehand.  They had a couple of interactions shortly after Emma came to PC, one where I think Maxie presented herself as someone Emma could talk to about things she didn’t feel she could tell Anna, and the other when Anna pushed the idea of Emma interning at Deception.  But neither of those ever led to anything, and I don’t recall any other interactions.

It also seems like we could have seen Mac and Felicia worrying that trying to be there for Mavie might be preventing them from really being there for her kids, and Mac said that the kids talk to Emma, but we have never seen that.

On another note, it would be nice if Emma/Mac/Felicia/someone would find out that Willow was the one stalking Sasha and Daisy.  It’s looking like Sasha might not be returning to confront Willow about this (though who knows with these writers), so it would be nice to see someone close to Sasha learn about this and hold it against Willow.  Maybe this will happen around the time Molly finds out about how her entire family is lying to her.

But I guess to have any of these scenes, they would have to cut some of the many, many scenes of…

Drew being an ass

Willow being a self-absorbed twit

Sonny and Jason being the world’s most self-righteous criminals

Nina protecting her daughter no matter who else she needs to hurt

Carly plotting against Jack for bringing her daughter into a government agency

Curtis and Portia having the same conversations with each other and others

Kristina and Alexis ignoring the fact that she is a danger to the people around her

So Anna the police commisioner is being held in a secret room somewhere within or underneath Wyndemere, and when Chase and his band of PCPD cops scoured the premises for Valentin earlier in the week, they just completely missed it? That... sounds about right actually.
