Apologies if I missed this elsewhere, but does anyone know what episode was aired on Thanksgiving? I tried to Google it, but couldn't figure out what exact date the rerun was from. Thanks!

Feb 5, 2025 - it's on Hulu under Season 62.

Not sure the best place to put this for GH fans, but this very recent interview with Michael E. Knight is wonderful, for GH fans and AMC fans. He talks about the Ronnie storyline and his involvement. His ability to remember and understand storyline is appreciated as many actors don't really think as deeply as he does about the who/what/when/how of it all. He's invested in the character of Martin and I hope the writers continue to use him! He clearly has a lot of respect for Frank and the writers. He really loves working with Genie. He acknowledges how different his character is today from his original KFC southern take on Martin, which is fun.

If you're an AMC fan, he talks a bit about those wonderful actors and his experiences on set. Enjoy!

I am sure this has been answered already, but is budget the reason GH shows reruns from 6 months ago only? Is it that expensive to shell out money to the actors for an older episode? Times have changed for ABC Daytime obviously, but they did briefly show reruns in 2010 in lieu of new episodes and showed old episodes on Soapnet all the time.

I would actually watch an old Q Thanksgiving episode but have no desire to watch an episode that just happened.

It's hard for me to imagine the budget is that bad. And if it is at least go back 5 years to a Thanksgiving theme episode or something. Frank never fires anyone except KeMo, so I am positive they could find an episode from the last decade with most of the current cast lol.

I think this was discussed in 2020 during the Covid reruns. At that time, they would show reruns only as far back as 2018, I think? Maybe something about background music rights, but I might remember it wrong. Whatever the reason was, it was discussed that GH couldn't use anything older.

I tracked reruns carefully from 2019 until 2024. I noticed that GH would usually rerun a somewhat boring episode - chosen because it contained some reference to a current storyline.
This week's rerun was Feb. 5, 2025 was this (recap link) Don't know why they chose that. Maybe the Drillow references because Drillow's wedding is coming up? I don't know, there are other things they could have chosen for that.

Here's a clip from Q Thanksgiving 1995 with turkey instead of pizza

Donnell Turner's 10th anniversary on GH is Nov. 30.
(interview has no spoilers).
The article title is ...
‘General Hospital’s Donnell Turner on Fulfilling His Dream of Being the ‘Black Luke Spencer’
https://www.tvinsider.com/1230871/general-hospital-donnell-turner-curtis-ashford-changes-interview/

Just noticed Donnell said this in the last paragraph:
". . . to be the first Black American legacy family on the show is just a huge privilege."

The * first * Black American legacy family on GH? What about the Wards?

I was just wondering this. I always perhaps foolishly thought it was FV's ego lol but maybe there are far more practical reasons, who knows. He had no issue with them showing classic OLTL eps from the 90s in 2011, but that was 'his' baby where he worked his way up for decades. Maybe it is some other budget thing now, but I wonder why.

I deeply appreciate when CBS still shows legit classics, like they have with Y&R or in the past with ATWT and GL. I would kill for GH to do it again.

I've heard the music rights excuse before, but Soapnet used to play the reruns without the original music. The Amazing Grace episode, for example, didn't use Amazing Grace for the ending but stock music. I am sure GH could still do that today or use an episode without popular music. I can understand it being an issue for an entire season or multiple episodes of a show, but not for just one. I wonder who chooses these episodes. Is it Frank?

Even Days with it's teeny, tiny shoestring budget pulled out never before seen flashbacks for the 60th with characters no longer on the show.
