I believe you are correct.  He was having ankle/foot issues, but they showed him in a scooter? saying Scott was injured and I think Kin went on (another) rant because he was let go and not given a real exit.

I think this time there was more going on. In one of his rant posts around the time his last scenes aired, he replied to someone online that Frank (or he said they, I can’t remember if he got specific) doesn’t like humor on the show anymore. Now there is a lot to parse there- was Kin wasting time with the precious schedule by ad-libbing and trying to add character to generic stuff? Does FV actually not like the show to have any humor (minus snark from Britt and others)? A combination of both? But I do think whatever went down that time really did leave Kin with the idea that his services were no longer needed at all, not just right at that moment. Valentini also doesn’t like the cast speaking out about complaints. And Kin posted every time he didn’t have scenes to film for a month or so.

Of those, Lucas is the only character that is recurring. As for the lawyers, the only contract players are Molly and Alexis. The rest are recurring.

I still think they show Turner, Ric, and Martin more than, say, Felicia.

We know next to nothing about Isaiah, Britt is awful, and Liz has no story except to talk to Willow and be around for Ric, the recurring lawyer.

And on that list, Portia, Britt, and Willow are the only ones in actual stories. Isaiah is adjacent to Portia. And none of them are in stories involving the actual hospital.

I know this is a simple thing, but when the characters would gather at the nurses station for their messages, to pick up charts, talk about whatever big story was happening, etc, it felt like they worked at the hospital more than it does now. Portia does most of her work in her office, Willow lurking (when’s she’s there), and Britt fighting with people. I think this is the worst the hospital has ever been represented. Even in other down periods, you still had Bobbie as a front burner character and she was shown at the hospital. Even earlier in Valentini’s run they at least knew to keep the hospital in play. If they treated Liz this way, it would be better!

Yeah, the hospital doesn't feel like the main hub for the show.  If anything, the PCPD has more action going on.

I will say Kin does tend to unnecessarily ham things up and make them wacky, so I could see that being a time waster if the lines weren't called for.

To be fair though Kin complains about most the regimes he's worked for so it's not specifically Frank lol.

Doesn’t he complain literally every time he’s not used? I’ve never really had a use for Scott personally even though I know he’s as legacy as legacy gets on the show. Him randomly turning out to be Franco’s dad was so stupid.

Yes they should not have made Scotty Baldwin Franco's dad.  The character is a legacy character and should be on there. Pair him back up with Lucy, and bring Serena and her adopted daughter with Kevin to town and showcase them, even if it is just recurring.  I tuned in the last 2 weeks while nursing a sprained ankle and while I like some aspects of what I see, others leave me wanting me.

And poor Elizabeth, she is the only hardy connection left and should be front and center of the show!!

Yes.  Kin seems to get grumpy easily lol.  Scott really struck out with kids (besides Serena)-Karen was revealed to be his when she was leaving, Logan died, and then he got Franco.

Ouch!  First Abby gets killed by a crane and now Michael calls her an escort.  She was a stripper that was going to have sex with Michael for free as a favor to Sam!!!

DT must be so happy Curtis got his Laura fix today.

I like Ava and Portia's friendship a lot.
