It’s likely that these plot points were always going to occur, but I’ve noticed that the intrigue has picked up, almost in tandem with Tracey Thomson replacing Bob Guza.

Particularly with Hayley and Andre.

I think I like Izaiah already. He implies that his dreams were crushed (whatever they were). Betcha he's gonna blame his dirty cop daddy for that.

Eva in a scene with a fine ass man that’s not a robot. Thank you soap gods.

I'm happy and there's potential already!

Doug is murdered and Vanessa instantly wants to be a mob wife. This is why all those “tears” didn’t move me at all.

I'm really liking Eva and Izaiah so far. They have far better chemistry than her and Tomas. Kat can have Tomas for all I care if she wants him so bad. I know that many Kat stans really want Izaiah for her but I think he may be better suited for Eva. On the other hand, I hope eventually Kat gets away from Tomas and ends up with someone better. Maybe they will pair her up with Donnell, (isn't Donnell more or less in the same age range as Kat and Eva?)

  • Dana, the ink is barely dry on the finalised divorce decree. Calm yourself down.
  • Vanessa is making her intentions known, and I love a woman who makes her intentions known to men. Put them in their rightful place.
  • Izaiah seems like a catch, and Eva's eyes are certainly fixated on him.
  • Jacob's hurt as Naomi, for me, is not justified; you put it in your head you could convince your wife, who did not want children (and you knew this), to have your child. Bad. Horrible.
  • Anita's eyes are locked on Rosemond, who is eyeing her husband. That is right: protect and stake the claim on your man.
  • Not Nicole interrupting her parents about to go roleplay some cat and mouse.
  • Peaches is not buying what Dana has been attempting to sell this entire time. I am with you. I would rather have takeout from Orphey Gene's in the comfort of my own home.
  • Is Vanessa playing Joey right now? Because, if so, I am all for it! Yes, Vanessa, do not back down right now.
  • Not Vanessa cucking Joey like that. Oh, she is going to get what it is that she wants.
  • So, Vernon is still bricked? Get it! Pose in that elevator, Ms Anita! GET IT!!!!

Notes:

  • David Lami Friebe (Izaiah) seems like a natural fit. Hoping this character works out. He is giving me more Andre vibes than Jacob, too. However, a lot of his mannerisms are a bit much; the constant waving back and forth of his head/body (a.k.a., like a bobblehead) is driving me insane.
  • Okay, so I am continuing to see some post-production changes under Tracey Thomson. The greener hues of more sets (the country club, the casino) are fading away and becoming more pink (which I like more). Let's keep this up!

Exactly. She's still and always the town mattress. A week after burying Doug, she's in full glam, dressed to kill, and plotting her future with the Golden Corral Casino Mobster. Yesterday, she had her tatas out and on display at her dinner with Dani. Vanessa is not a serious person, and it's hard to believe she felt anything for Doug.

Good intro for Izaiah, but the setting was sketchy. He goes to Uptown -- dimly and darkly lit -- and studies with an open book and pen like he's in the library? While Eva is doing voice memos for work from her dimly and darkly lit table?
