They could do worse than a copy and paste of those Another World scenes! That was riveting soap opera!

This Hayley reveal was excellent. Bill getting played by her the whole time is hilarious especially with how arrogantly he flaunted her in Dani’s face.I love the way they laid out the flashbacks to show how Hayley has schemed over the duration of the show so far. A lot of interesting places they can take this storyline I’m curious to see how this goes.

The story shifts the last couple of weeks have been very good. IDK if this is Tracey Thomson’s influence or just the ability to finally respond to audience feedback but the show has been on a nice run.

I was remarking on that a few pages ago. So much has leveled up beginning with the kidnapping and Dani and Andre's wedding IMO, including some of the more rickety day to day dialogue. It's far from perfect but more scenes have real wit, layering and crackle, and some new dynamics are being shown. It's crazy they have me invested in Kermit Ted and Underpass June together too, two of my least tolerable characters a month ago.

I don't think it's necessarily down to Thomson as this began a few weeks back, but they are definitely on a stronger track across the board IMO. Again, with the exception of the Tomas Zone and Ashley/Derek.

The Hayley reveal was surprising AF... and I don't know how I feel about it. On one hand, it makes the pregnancy stuff make WAY more sense. On the other, I'm like huh? She seemed really into Bill... and then explain to me about her friendship with Naomi???  And even Caroline? I guess she conned even in her off time having take out with Caroline and watching movies? 

This is the problem I have with BTG - let us in on some of the secrets. I love a shocking reveal, but sometimes you gotta give us crumbs... don't wait 9 months to reveal a character is actually 100% different than we expected them to be with no hints.

I'm still watching   I'm excited to see how she interacts with them now, given we know her secret. This also makes me 100% believe Bill and Dani are end-game now.

BTF...the crumbs for this (as soon today) have always been there. Subtly done or just things that we all debated over with her. And now...SURPRISE!!!

I would say with Guza out, Thomson coming in the shift was noticeable for sure as Guza finished/put interesting turns in stories for Thomson to come in on. Perhaps. And like Vee I would say it really started from the kidnapping on up to now. But I said a few pages back, that it feels like late April/May when the show was gearing up for May Sweeps so I would say it's gearing up for November Sweeps.

The difference is that Hayley is here to kill in order to take her paper. I would liken Eva to Brooke more.

I'm 100% with you. I was really intrigued when Hayley wanted to break Bill's legs at the end of yesterday's show. I felt like she was finally showing cracks and getting interesting. Then this reveal, IDK. They had originally made it seem like she'd been around for years and was a paralegal and it seemed like a sharp one, which you need actual skills to do. I think it had been discussed here, people were wondering at what age did she meet the Duprees, some wondered if she met them as a teen, and the show never technically said how long ago, so they're not contradicting themselves, it's just weird. For me this kind of strips away some of the conflict in the story. I'd been wondering what psychological or emotional issue drove her to fake a pregnancy when she and Bill seemed solid. Her jealousy was driving her mad. I'm definitely all for adding some layers of her being a gold-digger and having a violent streak, but not an outright cartoon villain who gives a 10 minute exposition of her evil plan. Now, what? She's the bad guy, it's not a triangle anymore where we have to see if Dani and Bill's passion overtakes them, now it's just of course we have to root for them because Hayley is trying to kill him. It would be more interesting to have her grey and have the characters be judgmental about her and never quite knowing if they are right or wrong, more like the Eva/Kat dynamic they did so well. Kay had the right instinct about Eva but she went about it in a classist way, and we wanted to root for Eva, but Eva keeps doing things that prove Kat right, yet we still root for her because she's complex and trying.

IMO the Hayley we had prior to this reveal was not compelling or viable as a long-term rival to Dani anymore. Just whiny Hayley faking a miscarriage bored me. Whereas this con moves her into a different and more urgent role that isn't about a triangle. Any future romantic rival for Dani with Bill would have to be someone more grounded.
