I had the same thought.  Why dump Sasha and the shared history with Michael if you are just going to pair him with another blonde grifter?

Exactly!!! At least Sasha had development.

Oh gosh someone just put the terrible thought in my mind that these dumb ass writers might actually have Sonny be at Monica’s funeral. This is the same team that had him at a dedication for her at the hospital.

Hush you!!! Don't even put that out there in the Universe!!!

I don't even know what Liz and Lucas have against Britt, so I am just going to assume it's valid and that I don't care.

Well with Liz, her and Britt were romantic rivals over Nik...including that weird (but slap good) catfight at Wyndermere.

Lucas...I can only assume it's cuz Britt is Brad's BFF and he's so anti-Brad now that her presence is a reminder.

Jason was never really my problem when Sonny/Carly/Jason dominated the show.

Same. But I admit I was bias due to a certain underrated lady...

Loved seeing the bonds finally developed between Jason and Tracy. It's needed with so few OG Qs left.

I loved the flashback scenes. I wish we got more extended scenes of Monica and Alan's classic arguing and not just quick blips.

Jason finly asking to remember his childhood was good, loved the history with Susan Moore and Scitt Baldwin. It's easy to forget Scott knew Jasin as a baby then tried to procecute him for years.

I assume they'll run more flashbacks during Monica's memorial episode(s). They thankfully didn't spare much expense with Bobbie's.

Speaking of the namesake, it is crazy to me that Britt is whining about staying at Bobbie's and claiming she has no place else to go. Really, Britt? Nina offered you her lux penthouse and all the money you need free of charge and you refused to stay there because of Liesl's badgering. Let's be real. Her fixation on Carly also honestly pales in comparison to the feuds with Liz, Sam and Robin. Compared to them she barely knows Carly.

Wild that they have Jason in the preview telling Michael one of his biggest regrets is keeping him from the Quartermaines.

I think he's voiced that sentiment before but it's been a while, I can't remember the details. I know he openly told Carly they screwed up with their choice for Michael around the time of the Claudia mess. I vaguely remember him 'apologizing' to A.J. on his 'deathbed' or something in the 2000s, but that was cold comfort at the time.

I think Jason apologized at AJ's grave.  But he's never had any problem with Sonny killing AJ.

I'm kind of afraid Michael is going to convince Jason that he absolutely did the right thing keeping him from the Quartermaines.

The Tracy/Jason scenes were great, but they gave me kind of a weird feeling.    I think Burton really pushed for Jason to remain alienated from the Q's, which played a significant part in the family being pushed to the side.  It seems odd to see him now being front and centre in honoring the family.

It safe to say I blocked out everything about Liz/Nik as a romantic pairing so I don't remember that.

I thought Lucas did like Britt because of Brad. Did Britt help with the Wiley switch in some way?

Nina was offering so much without strings and Britt was just being stubborn and "independent" only to take Jason's charity and complain about it.

Liesl also would have been quite helpful to Britt in getting her meds.  So Britt was actually risking her health by being a brat.

I still really don't know why Carly/Britt dislike one another.  Carly hates everyone female Jason interacts with so it checks out, but I thought she was grateful to Britt because she saved Joss's life.  Britt hates Carly because????  Jason runs to save Carly, which isn't really Carly's fault.  There isn't any reason for them to rivals at all.

If there has to be a Charlotte in existence I do like this actress much better.

I figured that might be why. ;) I believe I recall you saying how gross and out-of-character that pairing even if chemistry was there.

I think it is just a very trivial thing like Lucas and Brad did not work out so now anything that reminds Lucas of Brad is just something Lucas doesn't like. Since Britt is the BFF, he is not liking her. But that is all just me theorizing. Like you, I don't recall Lucas and Britt having any issues. I'll see how I feel once I see them together.

I did.  It was so strange after all the years they knew one another and how close Emily/Nik/Lucky/Liz were that the show decided they had undeniable feelings for one another at that point.

Then Lucas was being a bit petty with Britt.  Britt is an unlikable human being so I get it.  I just couldn't recall if there was a concrete reason that he disliked her (besides the fact that she's awful in general)

I understand. My feelings about it is so mixed. I feel how you feel that it does seem odd that they have feelings for each other after so many decades of friendship...friendship we saw on display and even had a whole plot where Helena tried to get them together with Liz not even being interested so...HUH? I did miss the majority of the original plot with them(and the Lucky curses her out when he finds out scenes) so I don't have the same attachment to it. And I did like the brief Ric/Liz/Nik triangle because it gave me Liz scenes, shirtless TC's scenes, and it's Ric. But it was under RC and we know how he writes grown folks in triangle (silly). And of course, there was Liz/Nik/Britt which was pretty good IMHO. But the best Liz is Bitca Liz and Britt brought that out in her easily back then.

Well tbf this version of Lucas does come across more gay and we gay folk can be petty/sassy mean whether there's a valid reason or not. ;) But same. I will have to get to the scenes in question to see if it jogs a memory because right now I really cannot think of a plausible reason for him to be shady to her outside of the Brad connection. Like have Britt and Ava ever interacted?

As time has passed and we have more accounts of bts stuff, I have a much more nuanced take on this than I used to. I think he influenced pairings Jason was in. I know he fought against taking his shirt off anymore. We know he didn’t want to return to the mostly nothing role Jason Quartermaine was, and was plenty vocal about it. But he clearly loved Stuart and Leslie, and always talks highly of John Ingle.

I don’t think he is the reason why the Quartermaine family was decimated. Was Guza and that writing team (who was still mostly intact when he was gone at the end of Riche and beginning of JFP) propping Jason as the most noble Quartermaine/hitman for over a decade? Yes. There are times when everyone acts like it is saint Jason who would never betray anyone he was loyal to starting all the way back to Guza’s 1998 return. But we also now know Guza didn’t want to kill Alan off.

I think they suffered from the mindset of the soap executives of the time, especially at ABC. Get rid of expensive older people, focus on tough, morally complex male leads, and make the women always at each other’s throats and sexy. And everything was permeated with a feeling of this is all going to end in a few years, so wiping out legacy characters the audience loved or could build the future around didn’t really matter anymore, and because of that short term gains were valued over longevity.

It was a little fuzzy when she left- was she let go or did she choose to not renew her contract, or wanted out?

I believe SM said she chose to leave.  Not sure if that was Frank giving her the option to say that or the truth.  It all seemed abrupt, IMO.
