I do think if we're thinking beyond just Black males it's entirely possible it could be Ted King, who has a friendship with MVJ. And I could be for that tbh. Especially with Daphnee Duplaix/Nicole.

Yeah, it only said "hot male" without eluding to the color of his skin. Could easily be Ted King. "Long-time soap fans" would be aware of him.  I wouldn't be opposed to this. I'd be curious to see how he fits in.

That's why I wondered about what it may mean for the direction of the show. I just hope they do a better job with him than they seem to have done with Lindstrom and Cady.

The cast and crew are predominantly Black and I don't think either Jon or Cady are on contract - I think the only white cast who are are Vanessa, Ashley and Derek, who are almost all (IMO) B-tier characters. So I personally would not find it to be some sort of omen of whitewashing if they added someone like Ted King.

I can answer that swiftly re: reality tv stars and say HELL TO THE YES!!! You think soap fans are committed? That can be said for the reality tv stars fans, too! Especially when said reality tv star is currently in a lot of mess as was the case with Ms. Huger before Episode 1 of BTG even dropped. Dr. Wendy has her fans. And love her or hate her, even Miss Giz has her fans...and people that don't even like her are vibing with her currently due to her masterful reunion performance this past season on RHOP where everyone was over Messy Mia.

And that's just Potomac. Just imagine other reality tv stars popping up which I do believe there are plenty in Atlanta. And not to mention beyond that people would tune in to see.

As for the hot star...I can't wait to figure out who it is.

That was my assumption too, but maybe I'm wrong.

Well they already disprove that in the articles and interviews if I'm not mistaken. I do believe we all discuss that over in that particular spoiler thread.

Sean Blakemore would do it for me, but I'm not even sure MVJ was still at GH when he turned up.

Sean Blakemore was great on Season 3 of "All Rise".  I didn't like the storyline but he did a great job portraying an arrogant wealthy attorney trying to sweep a married judge off her feet.  (the character didn't succeed but almost did).   It's streaming on Hulu.

Thank you for the tip. ;)

I definitely wanted to see where his story went on GH when he took that blackmail money off Nicolas and started to wear niiiiice form-fitted suits. But alas...

And Smitty! :)  But I agree with you.

They're not; they're principal guests. Only those in the opening are contract players.

Lamon Archey?

I'm in 2 minds about casting name actors.

Clifton, Tamara, Daphnee and Karla were somewhat known and needed for the launch.

But SB tried that for years with new characters and and it never worked. Better to unearth new talent that is associated only with BTG.

Although a good actor playing an interesting character can work also.

It's obviously Ted King. He interacted with MVJ's social media a few weeks ago implying them working together.

Well, I know of one soap opera/BDW fan who'd be thrilled about that...

That's why I posted it!😂

Seriously, it's obvious it's Shemar Moore.

It's hard to speculate because the show is stacked with women but I do feel has a lot of opportunity when it comes to bringing on male actors.

With nuTed being a bust, I could see them adding someone in that age range for Nicole/Dani but they already seem to be teasing Carlton which leads me to change my guess to someone younger who could be around Naomi/Kat/Eva.

If they go for someone older I think Lamon Archey or Sean Blakemore would be a great gets. Now if it's someone younger I'm kinda at a loss at who it could be. I'd imagine it can't be a Black actor because I can't recall many (or any) younger Black soap actors they could cast. Maybe the guy who played TJ on GH but nobody else is really coming to mind.
