With that said, I don't mind that Diddler-Doug was shipped off.  The actor wasn't that good and his character literally chased after two high schoolers.  Bring on someone new for Ari/Holly, and hopefully the actor will be as good as Leo Howard/Ashley Puzemis/Marissa Reyes.

We’re in total agreement here. Shipping off that dud of D3 was actually a great decision until they can get a better actor or age up the characters he interacts with. This 20 something year old mixing it up with two high school seniors was weird.

Finally got to AS returning as Sami. The scenes with DH were great. I do wish it could’ve happened during the actual death. Days just feels like Days when Sami is around even though I hated her when they turned her into a heroine. Loved the flashbacks with Sami and John as well. Still surreal John Black is gone.

I was liking the fallout of Johnny firing EJ and how everybody absorbed the news of it. Johnny deciding to represent himself seems a little stupid though. But Belle raised a lot of interesting points today. I wonder if John would be upset, on some level, over Belle choosing to prosecute Johnny and for dating EJ lol and I'm glad that she continued to have no time for EJ's crap.

As much as I enjoyed Tony giving advice to EJ on how to deal with Johnny and Chanel, I still can't help but think that he has an ulterior motive, in addition to what we saw in the spoiler promo and in addition to being in cahoots with Gabi.

And yeah, they really missed a big opportunity by not having Stephanie be upset about Alex and the book thing, but hopefully it'll lead to something interesting happening, especially now that Stephanie knows that Steve has been investigating Titan, and that Xander wants Alex to convince Stephanie to do PR for them again. Stephanie and Alex should have always been tied into everything going on at Titan with Xander, Philip, etc. from the very beginning instead of being so isolated from it with the book thing. I also wouldn't mind Stephanie being at odds with Steve, Alex, and everybody as a result of all this either. 

Btw, where the hell is Philip anyway? I feel like we haven't seen him in a long time 😂

And I really enjoyed that Marlena had Kayla to confide in.

I’ve finally made it to last week 🙌🏽🙌🏽. I’m really enjoying the show especially in comparison to the garbage that is Y&R of today 

I know nuSophia has been on for months now, but my god she has TANKED this character with her portrayal. The old Sofia actress had such a spunk about her you could see her carrying on for a while but alas. Nu-Sophia is just my god D3 levels I don’t want to see you anymore.

Also unpopular opinion, but demon Spawn Rachel was so much better than this weeping sad mess.

I haaaaate Adriennas hair so much.

So happy the show created a court room and outside of court room set in our new age of redressing everything.

I think we all suspected this, but at the same time, I think this mystery was written and played out a lot better than the last few mysteries that we've gotten on Days. I like how they tried to keep us guessing, in the beginning anyway lol

And while I still enjoyed the trial scenes once again, I can see why some people thought that the trial got a little boring at times. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next, now that it's ending. Hopefully, it'll end up being the catalyst for some good storylines for all the characters involved in it. There's still a lot of story that can be drawn from Johnny and EJ being at odds with each other.

Btw, Johnny looked really good in that suit 😍😂

And of course, Leo was not necessary again. Even if I liked him, there's absolutely no point to this crap with his roommate.

Marlena and Julie were great though. I love that the two of them have each other to bond over their grief. Now, if only Maggie could be a part of their group.

As for Julie buying the bookstore... I don't mind it. 

EJ has been on every episode since August 6 and is scheduled to air every day this week too and likely next. Is anybody else having EJ (and Johnny trial) fatigue? Where are Shawn and Jada? What's Philip up to? I need some variation in the story.

From what has been said, it was Ron's decision to bring Gwen/EOB back and the new team had to deal with it.  It doesn't appear they are terribly enthused about writing for her.  I still don't know why they didn't just slap the wig on her and bring her back as Theresa.

*Someone* decided to bring Gwen back, but it could have been Ron or Janet or Corday or another producer, or corporate, or whatever.

All we know is that Cwikly/Ford said in their April 2025 interview:
"Gwen’s return was in the works before we were hired. We love Emily O’Brien and think Gwen can stir up a lot of mischief in Salem."

This was EOB's return interview (nothing there is a spoiler anymore).
She said she was off of DAYS and just doing her motion capture job. 
But the videogame actors went on strike starting in July 2024 (strike link) and she said had no motion capture work due to that strike, but then DAYS called her to return for Theresa (airing March 2025) and Gwen (to begin airing July 2025).

The article said she was returning as Gwen Rizczech, but we know that the character returned using the name Gwen Von Leuschner.

EOB's interview does show that she was called in before Ron left.
Her March 2025 airdates as Theresa would have (possibly) been taped just before Ron left. She said her scenes as Gwen began taping in October 2024.

The way she words it in her interview, it sounds like it was a
*combined arrangement request* for her returns as Theresa and Gwen --- which explains Theresa's return under Ron, and Gwen's return under Cwikly/Ford.
But we still don't know who in management requested the combined arrangement. All EOB said was that casting director Marnie Saitta phoned EOB per her interview.

In this EOB March 2025 interview when she returned as Theresa (Link), she said she had been considering moving to New York to do theatre when she got the call from DAYS.

There are some rumors going around about who she’s gonna be paired with, but I’ve heard nothing definite 

WOW, good on DAYS, that was a legit surprising reveal and very well done! I'm so happy that they didn't rely on a courtroom reveal, and they played it cool. The narrative device of the book and Marlena trying to get Rachel not to break the thing were great. Do I wish the pacing was better, so they had Marlena in the courtroom and then had the reveal on Wednesday? Yes. But I also like not having to wait any longer. And I am honestly shocked by the visual of a little girl holding a gun. I assumed it wouldn't be her, just to avoid that visual. But it is so shocking that it makes the whole thing better. And, Marlena is once again Salem's best psychiatrist. Yes, she sees her family and friends as patients. But, Rachel's therapist had her playing with dolls for months and never cracked the case. Marlena's seen the kid twice and already solved the crime.

 

BTW, if Rachel was sleepwalking, so she doesn't recall the shooting, I might die laughing. That would be the soapy cherry on top of this silly caper.
