Agree. Though up until then, I would say it was the best paced of the B stories. 

Vernon needs to shut up. Him co-signing that Anita do a solo is nothing but trouble and Anita should have not even entertained it.

Nasty Nikki (sorry, I like that nickname Leslie called her, lol) was getting a little bit too high up on that horse even considering not going to the show. It's fine if she wants to be mad at Anita, but not attending the show would be taking the grudge too far. In this situation, Dani actually was the reasonable voice.

Anita should have told Sharon and Tracy:  The promoter asked me to do a solo -- but I won't do it unless each of you is featured in a solo of your own that you choose.

I did like the idea of making the concert a tribute to Barbara.  Now the question is, will we learn that Barbara is alive, or perhaps one of Barbara's relatives sees the concert?

Agreed. This is your mom's big comeback gig. There is a time and place to be petty and something big and momentous like this isn't it. 

Lord...Dani is on one! haha. Oh, a rare Dani/Naomi scene. 

 

I have to say that I'm liking that while we know all that happened with Martin, that it is still being filtered through the family. Realistic. 

Hehe. I like these scenes with Chels, Sharon, and Tracy. 

 

I am liking this so far. Like events on this show, the Dupree family scenes are getting far and in-between. For all their shadiness, people want care about them if we don't have some positive moments with them. Vernon soothing Anita's nerves. Samantha with Kat. Ty with Smitty. More Nicole/Martin scenes. Finally.

Side-note...I have been liking the business talk. Kat today with her and Chels's business. Last week rewatching and see Dani and Pamela at work.

I would love a new Anita story... something inspired from real life maybe. These entertainers-singers have so many strange things happen to them. From stalkers... to people extorting them for money (maybe Anita did something shameful before getting famous and becoming an EGOT and someone has the pictures/receipts) etc. So many great storylines Tamara Tunie can play with. She deserves it. I want a real REAL powerful storyline with my darling Anita.

I am definitely curious to see how they pivot Anita once this reunion story ends for sure. 

Martin “talking to Nicole” is not Martin getting the help he needs at oillllll, and it’s crazy that Nicole is going with this rather than referring him to someone.

***The Dani person popping in with her usually erratic bullsht while Nicole is in the middle of showing Martin breathing exercises in the family living room is exactly what I mean when I say that this isn’t Martin getting help.

Gotta admit, I enjoyed Dani in her scenes with Naomi today. She really is at her best when she isn't so extra. 

Her scenes with Nicole and Martin... no comment 😂

And, I hope Smitty shows up at the concert. Maybe some guy will catch his eye, or Martin's, which causes more conflict for them lol

And, it's too bad that Tyrell's girl isn't around anymore. Like he said to Smitty, the concert would have been the perfect place for them to have a first date.

Karla is very hit or miss with her acting... she's much better when she restrains herself vs when she tries to convey emotion.

Smitty needs to divorce Martin because who knows what else Martin is lying about.

Never say never... recurring characters seem to vanish on this show for awhile and then they pop up when we least expect it so I think she might pop up again in the future.

@Maxim I do think given Anita's backstory that she might have a few extra skeletons in her walk in closet that could come back to haunt her.  Also, maybe AI could come into play with someone generating her voice via AI to sell products and/or used as a sample of a new song.. and she finds out it's related to someone/something she did in the past.

-- I hated that Anita put her solo up to a vote. What a completely bitchass move. This is doing no favors for Anita/TT.

-- For a scene showing "Chelsea changes the show outfits," it should have taken place at least a week ago. Hours before the concert? No. I don't like hand-waving away those types of things.

-- Actually, adding a solo right before the concert is also ridiculous.

-- Barbara was mentioned so many times today. I trust the show won't have her sitting in the audience. If that happens, I will gag.

-- And what are they having Samantha do, asking her to mimic the moves of the Articulettes? This family is able to do everything with no notice. Amazing.

-- The moments with Nicole as Martin's mother? Excellent. Playing therapist? Don't like it. I think Nicole should know better.
