Are we safe from Jamey Giddens too? 😂😂

Nope!😂

I feel like the writing has been strong and only gotten better over time. I'm curious how it will feel once Thomson arrives. Hopefully she is a good addition to the team!

For me, the script daily writing is fine. It's the head writing by MVJ that is the problem.

Thomson is a protege of Chuck Pratt and someone Brian Frons singled out back during the late 2000s as one of the greatest talents ABC Daytime had in its stable of writers.

Not exactly reassuring people to have endorsements from.

Did she work a lot with JHC?

She still seems to be close to Pratt.

And she worked with Guza Jnr on GH for a time, so that's the likely connection to her coming into BTG. Perhaps he recommended her as his successor, and Val Jean felt comfortable doing that.

Michele Val Jean and Tracey Thomson are long-time friends. That's why she's there, not because of Guza, Pratt or Frons.

Of course, her credits speak for themselves. Her connections are just that.

I know she and MVJ became good friends during the 2007 writers strike and that friendship is why she's at BTG. I was simply noting that Pratt was her biggest soap writing mentor and Frons considered her a rising star back in the day -- two facts I don't find encouraging given the men in question.

I'm just happy it's a woman and that BTG will continue being more of a woman's point of view show. In this day and age...  This is a thing to be proud of.

Oh, of course; I only brought up Guza Jnr because many name Pratt⏤much like Phelps or Frons⏤and immediately discredit them, without any merit of the person's own résumé (which Thomson's speaks for itself).
