So, there's a couple rumours flying around.

Casting - Comings and Goings (Spoilers) - Weekly Discussion Thread : r/GeneralHospital

It's mentioned in this thread at Soap Opera Network that Victoria Konefal (formerly Ciara on Days) is rumoured to be being eyed as a recast for Sasha.

There was also a post on the GH Soap Central board (though I can't find it anymore), claiming the Soap Dirt podcast had revealed an alleged leak that four characters will be killed by mob violence this fall.  Two are supposedly going to be Monica and Leslie, and Brennan is said to be the third.  The fourth character was kept secret, but said to be a big shock.

I’m sorry but there’s no way they kill Monica or Lesley due to mob violence.

I don't believe that either. That would just be grotesque.

Brennan wouldn't surprise me, along with some of the other going nowhere recurring characters (Cody, that professor, Joss' mentor).

I'm not sure if they would recast Sasha unless it was Sofia's choice to leave, and even then, I think there would be a delay. Given how poorly received Kate Mansi has been by a lot of fans, hiring someone else just because they had fans on DAYS ten years ago would surprise me.

This 'recast Sasha' thing literally only came from people speculating on forums like this one. Then it gets spun up into a "rumor" and hack websites or YT accounts like this pick it up for clicks. Most of the stuff you see circulate like that is total horseshit.

It doesn't take any kind of insider to guess that Natalia or Sasha would be written out, or to say that yes, two deceased actors would have their characters killed off or that the dull Brennan/Carly pairing would end. That's just basic deduction.

Soap Dirt is literally the least reliable source out there. They're the equivalent of Celebrity Dirty Laundry: they make stuff up

I'm pretty skeptical about that too, though I wouldn't go as far saying there is no way it could happen.  I think in the history of soaps, there are a lot of things that could never happen that have ended up happening.  I should also note that there are apparantly some alleged sources who are pushing the "four deaths in the fall" narrative, but not saying anything about it being due to mob violence.

Don't we know that she has chosen to leave?  And it would make sense to recast Sasha quickly, in my opinion, because she would have no reason to stay away once Willow is outed as being the one who was targeting her.

I also have to say I find it a bit odd to say VK would be cast "just because she had fans DAYS" as opposed to her being a talented actress, who could (I think) have real chemistry with Rory Gibson.  And I don't think any dislike for Kate Mansi's Kristina, (which is more about the writing than her performance) would impact the decision of whether or not to cast VK any more than the great reception of Stephen Nichols as Stefan after being Steve on Days would make them more inclined to hire another Days star.

That said, I have seen some people saying that VK was spotted on or near the GH set recently, and some posters may have jumped to the conclusion that she would be joining the show, picking Sasha as a character who might be recast soon, and put it out there claiming it was a legitimate leak.

This is quite possible, but some people said the same thing when it was first rumoured that Michael would be recast.

Some people are saying the true source of these spoilers is someone on Daytime Dish who has a good track record of releasing accurate leaks.

Anyway, I'm not trying to say either of these rumours should be taken as gospel, but they are out there, so everyone can come to their own conclusions.

I do think they would be more interested in casting based on past soap work more than anything else, as that's just how soaps often work.

I don't think Kate's struggles would be the only issue, but I'd think it might be one factor, as I imagine they thought she'd be more popular in the role than she has turned out to be.

These sites are known trash and need to not be cited as credible.

I'm not saying they won't look at her previous work if they are deciding about casting her, just that they wouldn't cast her "just because she had a lot of fans n Days."

And yet many people dismissed the idea of Michael being recast when the rumours first popped up.  Again, I'm not trying to claim these are absolutely credible repots, but they are making the rounds online as possible spoilers, so I thought this seemed like a good place for them to be posted.
