BTG: June 2025 Discussion Thread

Maybe Martin/Smitty had marital issues.. and Martin went on the apps or found a male escort/hustler from Joey's business.   However, the escort/hustler was perhaps straight and/or in denial for being gay.. and decided to rob Martin or perhaps tried to assault Martin and Martin fought back and killed them.

However.. Martin thinking of the potential scandal derailing his future political goals called in his grand-dad and there was an agreement made between Martin/Bill/Elon/Marcel/Ted/Joey to keep it quiet.. an unholy alliance of sorts.   And perhaps Kenneth was the brother of this escort and was paid off to not cause trouble.. but money ran out and is now back for revenge/bigger pay out.

I recall one scene between Martin/Chelsea where he made it clear that he and Smitty weren't in an open relationship... but it didn't mean he didn't perhaps try to find someone on the down low for release... and Smitty perhaps was either too emeshed with the kids and/or kept his distance from Martin because of continually being shut out from the past.

that was my initial reaction. but then it occurred to me that having him in the mix could have am impact on the whole doug-vanessa situation and decided to wait and see how the aftermath unfolds. 

Can I get Jacob and Smitty consoling scenes after they find out they've been lied to?

It's obvious Martin is the dominant one in their marriage, and Smitty is the silent "yes" type, thus not investigating what happened that night.

Martin and Smitty do nothing for me as a couple.

My theories are that Martin picked up a male escort from Joey's organization, and while they were playing around in the car, while Martin was driving, he accidentally mowed down Kenny's brother who was changing his tire on the side of the road.

Or that Kenny's brother was the escort and while they were drunk or high, they crashed and he was killed

He still has this habit of talking down to Smitty. It's almost like an abusive marriage lol

Exactly!

One fall out that I haven't seen anyone discuss yet in regards to Martin's secret being revealed to all... will be what Nicole's reaction will be to this news.  Not only will she feel a certain way about her own son not coming to her... but to find out that both her husband and father knows about this secret and kept it from her will certainly be a sight to behold!

This show hasn't really had my full attention in a good long while. I've been kind of off and on with it. But this game of "cat and mouse" storyline really has me paying attention. Smitty's and Jacob's spidey senses are tingling, and they are in hot pursuit of "The Elusive 6". Although they don’t realize it directly. This story feels like a primetime show plot and I'm loving it.

 

BC's acting still makes me laugh at times when clearly it is not the intent. I believe it's just the cadence and tone of his voice, which isn't completely his fault. He has gotten better however and I have noticed in some scenes it is almost gone but then it slips right back in at times. When he stormed into the office, I had to laugh. 

NuTed looks so small standing next to all the other men. It doesn't help that he appears to be shorter and less broad than the rest, but his presence also feels small in comparison. I am also not loving his acting style. His scenes with Kat and Eva did him no favors...he paled in comparison. In the office, he did nothing for me. 

Bill and Dani felt like equals. Their moment together was great. I also love that Bill apologized, because he has been treating Dani like she was nothing when this woman literally gave up her career to build up his and give him a family. Then, he cheats on her throughout the marriage to finally leave her for his daughter's best friend. Hayley to me seems more like a prize for Bill than an actual wife. I don't feel an intellectual connection between them like I do with Dani and Bill. 

I did catch Jacob's pronunciation of rhetoric. I'm surprised no one corrected that, but honestly they were probably like just keep moving it's not that big of a deal. There was a male actor that pronounced affluent incorrectly in that week of special premiere episodes, too. 

As for the secret, I am excited for the reveal. I don't know why Malone is such a trigger for Martin. I am going to assume that Malone may have shot and killed someone especially after he said that he has killed people and been back on the job within days. As for the change of clothes, maybe Martin got into a fight or had blood on his clothing.

Now, I don't get Joey's involvement in all this and why he is so worried about it being uncovered. 

As much as I assumed this had something to do with an escort/sex worker, would Martin do something like that if he were attending an event with his grandad?
