GH Sneak: Michael Calls Willow
Michael phones Willow and mentions the nice moment they shared with the kids last night. Michael tells Willow that he wants to speak with her privately at the courthouse before things get started and Willow says she'd like that.  Then Willow tells Nina about the phonecall. Willow and Nina are hopeful that this is a good sign and the ongoing custody battle may be coming to an end.

Cameron Mathison posted, then deleted on his instagram him responding to a comment about how Drew should have blackmailed the judge by saying someone on Michael's side beat him to it.  People are debating if it's a joke, or if he gave away the fact that Michael will win full custody with someone's help.  As for who could be the one to influence the judge, the most interesting suggestion to me is that it will be Nina, after finding out what Drew did to Wiley.

On another note, the GH reddit board's spoiler thread has a link to a facebook article.

https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1Hz5hpuyav/

When I click on the link  I just get a message about the content being removed, but according to the replies on the reddit thread, the show is firing Bradford Anderson and will look to recast Spinelli.

Saw a screengrab of Mathison's alleged response to the post on Instagram. If true, not sure why he even bothered to respond, regardless of the outcome of the storyline. Not very smart.

As for Bradford Anderson, he's a recurring actor. You don't "fire" recurring actors. If he's unavailable or they need someone to play while he's unavailable for whatever reason, that doesn't mean he was "fired." People who get fired are contract actors like Evan Hofer, Kelly Monaco, Michael Easton or Roger Howarth, though, in each of those cases, their characters weren't replaced with another actor.

----

To be clear, when I say "fired," I mean "let go." Generally, the same thing, but one of those carries a rougher meaning when it comes to disruption in employment.

If Bradford Anderson is out as Spinelli, GH should bring back Blake Berris (ex-Nick Fallon & ex-Everett West, DAYS) who filled in for him a few years ago, he did a good job, and I think he'd be a great recast.

I don't really remember anything about that, but on the GH reddit the immediate reaction was that BB as Spinelli was a disaster.  It would be interesting to see what a larger group of fans would say about him.

Well, at least part of the custody story spoiler came true.  We will probably find out today if someone did blackmail or bribe the judge.

As far Bradford Anderson not being able to be fired, I think that is just semantics.  Again, I didn't see the article, but if it said that BA was going to be replaced as Spinelli, people would probably see that as him being fired, even if that's not the technically accurate term.

Bradford appears so rarely I don't even know why he would be replaced.  Unless they are gearing up for some big Spinelli story I would say the character isn't worth the hassle.  I am fine thinking Spinelli is off screen in the background with Maxie and her kids.

    • This show is really trundling along BTW. When is someone going to show up to slit Beastmaster's throat or crack the whip on metrosexual Sidwell? (BTW, openly presenting this cheery bon vivant as casually bisexual would at least be something vaguely diverting.) At least kill Brennan by year's end. I'm bored.
    • She told Vanessa to "DOUBLE her offer" on the Jarvis house.  The Jarvis family accepted the doubled price.  Assuming the house has an appraised value of $2,000,000, she's theoretically paid the Jarvis family $4,000,000 for the house.  The bank would loan Leslie 80% of the appraised value ($1,600,000), and Leslie had to pay the balance with cash at closing --- $2,200,000.  She only had ONE million.  Where the hell did she get the rest?!  And now she's got contractors working on the house all day & half the night.  Who's paying THEM?  I keep thinking all this will crash around her.  Either that or the writers have absolutely no idea the limits of a million dollars.  Sounds like a "lot of money", but it obviously ain't when we look at Leslie's spending since she got that million dollar check in August.

    • Vernon is an idiot. Why would he have Sharon in the same hotel that Leslie is staying at?
    • Yes, that out of the blue return was odd. Maybe GG found a forgotten clause in the contract he signed when he was wooed to ABC and they were forced to take him back! Like George Reinholt he talked about the contract that promised him primetime roles. But it was loaded in the networks favor. I think it was Gloria Loring that re-signed at Days on the promise of primetime opportunities, but that was all it was- she was put up for guest spots and TV movies but not necessarily guaranteed that she get the role.
    • I still am baffled by why Monty brought back stunt hire Gerald Gordon in the early '80s out of nowhere for like a year. I haven't found anyone who can come up with a thing he did in that second stint of note.
    • It's interesting to watch this having watched The Doctors. I'm not sure I'm seeing that much of a difference in the characters Gerald Gordon and Anna Stuart played on The Doctors and what they're playing here.
    • I keep forgetting a huge chunk of that year was written by scabs. You're probably right, because by the time the strike was over, they were likely planning an exit for Alan's character as it must have been obvious by then that Bernau was not going to return. If he was still there, it's also doubtful they would have approached MZ and MG about coming back. Wild.
    • And to think the original plan was for David and Lesley to have an affair.  Not only would that have made no sense - Lesley wasn't THAT stupid, lol - but it also would've ruined her and GH.
