I disagree, Jon Lindstrom is boring as hell on this show and the Joey character is not clicking.

When Anita went on and on about how she landed the ideal man in Vernon and what a saint he is - I just hoped that Vernon knocked a few other women up somewhere.

I love Jon Lindstrom on GH...  but I don't enjoy him as Joey, at all.  Joey is a dud character.   And I don't feel any Joey/Vanessa heat at all.  I can see that the actors are trying to show it but it doesn't come off as believable to me.

And it's obvious that Joey is using Vanessa and doesn't care a bit about her.

I doubted the tests but i liked that htey had Nicole as a doctor mention that the test also had genetic markers that matched Teds that Leslie really wouldnt have been able to fake. I think most people thought the test only said 99.999% chance match but its more detailed than that

  • Teddy Boy. Teddy Bear. DEADBEAT! Now we know where Deadbeat gets it from.
  • Vanessa in a random two-second spotting with Deadbeat? Oh, okay then!
  • Dana is selling herself to Nicole right now.
  • Oh, look who it is... Anita showing up to support Dani in her demure confrontation with Deadbeat2.
  • Mona is not playing with Eva; from "backstabbing heifer" to "girl bye", she is not playing with her. At all.
  • Joey is fully playing Vanessa, and she's so easily falling for it. C'mon, honey, don't do that.
  • Shanice is going to be a comfort board for Douglas when he takes her advice and helps him heal himself.
  • Mona going off on Dana just like she deserves.
  • Mama Dupree went off: "Handle your business!"
  • Could Eva and Randy be potentially paired for a one-night stand? That could be an interesting twist.
  • Damn Mona with the continued burns, this time for Dana: "Hell was made for people like you, Leslie. Enjoy the burn."
  • Anita questioning her own decisions and instincts feels really natural and real. It's a nice change of pace from the other matriarchs we've seen established in American daytime.
  • Now the true Dana/Ted scenes are coming out.
  • Anita warning Eva that she'll never be a part of the Dupree family shows the claws are fully out.
  • Teddy fully calling Dana "demented" and "psychotic" is going to cause some problems, won't it?

Notes:

  • I fully need Maurice Johnson (Ted) gone yesterday; his performances are just not selling to me.
  • Love seeing Tamara Tunie (Anita) beginning to get her teeth into the meat of the scripts. It's about time.
  • Karan Kendrick (Mona) delivered today!!! She's such a breath of fresh air.

I liked that realism, too.  (DanaLeslie/Lulu/whoever  is still shifty enough to have paid someone to learn those details over the years, though)

Mona... quit being a 'pick me'.  You're nothing to the Duprees except the help.  Now when you find out what Silk Press Sheila did to Laura than you can go off on her... until then.. stay quiet.

I prefer the Joey/Vanessa scenes because they aren't the Duprees.

Am I supposed to root for the Duprees?  I don't tend to root for, nor sympathize with those that come from privilege.  I'll always root for the underdog.

And I couldn't be happier, I loved her from the beginning. She's a great addition to the cast.

Same. The only one I truly like and root for is Nicole.

Loved everything Mona and Karan today. I hope we get to see her more. They have a real find with her.

Im still calling shenanigans on Eva being Ted's child. I really can't wait to see if it will be revealed who Leslie talked to on the phone when she said she needed a favor when Eva took Ted's straw.

Calendar year, at least going by when the Season Numbers have changed in the past several years on GH and on DAYS it's been calendar years. What their start dates are though haven't necessarily made inherent sense to me.

Hmm, interesting point. I'm used to being for underdogs, as well, but I am very invested in the Duprees.

I think most people's knowledge of DNA tests comes from Maury. I dont think she nor most people would even think to consider genetic markers

    • It reminded me of what the Pollocks got away with all the time on THE DOCTORS: long ass flashbacks that don't really add anything to the scene except time.  Because, if you remove the flashback, what's left?  Monica finishes packing Alan's suitcase.  That's it, lol. Oh, well.  At least I got to see a young Patricia Elliott (ex-Renee, OLTL) in that Aim toothpaste commercial (not to mention, a shirtless James O'Sullivan (ex-Jeff, AMC; ex-Pete, OLTL) in the commercial for One-a-Day vitamins, lol).
    • Well, I can't help but think it would've been written different with CB still there
    • I could've sworn FV let other people direct either here or at OLTL. I may be wrong. IIRC Kimberly is now very active directing multi-cam/sitcom work. I'd forgotten she even did Netflix's One Day at a Time.
    • IIRC MVJ said the million was just the first piece of what Leslie got or was already owed, something they did make explicit in dialogue but not too explicit. Still, I am past worrying about it. I do think they want 30-yo elder millennial Peaches in her Sophia Petrillo wig to be a point of pathos for Leslie. In theory I am fine with that, and don't dislike Peaches despite the jarring physical disconnect and need for a recast lol. But I do think they do a lot of B&B-style whizzing from Point A to Point C with Leslie on this kind of stuff - in one scene she is raising hell, in the next she is weeping over Peaches. There's very little transition to that sometimes that allows for the nuance, and that can be done much better and they can go much deeper with Leslie (and most characters). The newer/younger audience for the show may have less issue with this kind of quick change than we do.

Thank you.   That was part of my reasoning as well. I think about the days of Kevin, Joey, and Jessica on OLTL or Lucky/Liz/Nik/Sarah/Emily on GH or the Last Blast Kids on DAYS or the Glow by Jabot kids, and it takes me back. Sure I started soaps due to the older cast with their divas, but I do like to see people around my age back then, too. Great memories.   So I love a good relatable teen tale. Bullying. Hormones for the Bad Boy. College choices and internal conflict.
    • Thank you for the information.  I did listen to the entire interview with Miss Roux -- way back when it was first released.  But I am unable to recall her mentioning Connie Ford, and don't have time nor effort to listen to the entire thing again, just for one small morsel. So again, thanks for responding.    I do recall Roux sounded extremely fragile and perhaps a bit wounded in the interview. I almost felt guilty for even listening to it.  So perhaps that has some influence on my reluctance to listen to it again.  She seemed troubled, to say the least.
    • Boxer-briefs, huh?   Well...called it on Cane/Giggly Heffa hooking up so not surprised.
    • Do you have Addie’s first air date??
    • Even now Victor is always so warm with Ashley. I liked their brief re-pairing as well.
    • @depboy Thanks. That does help. @titan1978 @Paul Raven Really enjoying the analysis of the production methods and what Monty was doing.  I wish we got some of those biopics here that a few UK soaps got as a biopic on Monty's first few years at GH would be fascinating.
