But it's good to post it again.  In such a long thread, it's hard to keep up with everything.

And, with SO MUCH information, it becomes quite dense & searching even becomes tricky ...

Re: the "you are a wonderful person" thing....I can do without so many references to "The Duprees will always rise" and "No one does that to the Duprees" and "There's nothing like being a Dupree." I wish I knew we were supposed to side-eye those statements, but I wonder if we're just supposed to nod in agreement. Sorry, Duprees, beneath all your money and your history, you're as big a mess as any other dysfunctional family.

If I'm rolling my eyes at Y&R dialogue like this about the Newmans and the Abbotts, and about the Forresters on BOLD, I'm going to roll my eyes at the Duprees on BTG.

As Bill beautifully put it to Dani in episode 5: "You're a Dupree, as your family likes to remind everyone at the drop of a hat."

Just thinking back to Wk 1 and the introduction to some characters.

Ashley and Derek were just there talking about her first day at work, and we had no idea how they fit into the canvas.

Jacob and Naomi got the sexay intro in the bedroom.

Instead maybe the 4 of them should have met for a breakfast to wish Ashley well on the first day. That would have established all 4 of them better. We would have learned their jobs, that they were friends and the connection to the Duprees.

Cady seems completely superfluous at this point.

As for Martin/Smitty. Every other couple has been allowed varying degrees of affection but not the gays. I'm not buying the 'relationship is tense' excuse. What better way to show that than either spouse attempting to initiate some romance and the other rebuffing them.

And that leading to an argument about their unsatisfactory sex life.

Instead it's like they dusted off scripts from 'How to Survive A Marriage' from 1974.

Lol. I'm sure someone will shade it to their face at some point. Perhaps Silk Press Sheila.

Okay, tell me why Bill saying it to Dani doesn't count?!!!

Think Sesame Street GIF

I mean collectively and from a Have-Not...something Bill is not being inside the gate. Which I assume from the above complaints...is what is really being asked for.

Silk Press Sheila continues to give me life and if she said she didn't do it, she didn't do it! Don't tell me what my eyes saw, my queen is so convincing and she is a good honorable woman. I hope Eva listens to her Mama!

Howling at this, btw! Comment of the week for me.

Okay, I think it must count from Bill but we can call it from someone inside the gates & look for a townie to do it later. Have both!

That's rich. They should have that argument. I'm sure Smitty is not getting nearly enough physical affection!!!!

Oh, no, no, not that! These are people who have made a lot of good solid decisions. No way they'd pull a move as boneheaded as that!!!

Okay when was "High Tea with BTG"? Because a press photo shows Jon Lindstrom there that day. Which could help place when he & Cady became involved.

I kind of loved that. I think Bill sneered a couple times when saying "Dupree." At least that points out the Dupree delusion that they're somehow more special than anyone else.

I thought I was the only one who remembered HTSAM. What an odd, awkward show that tried so hard to be edgy and sexy and cool. I remember being really angry that NBC canceled Return to Peyton Place (which I thought was good) for that mess.

I'm not either, and I'm side-eyeing the whole deal. I'll give them some time, but if they avoid gay guys showing real affection, I'm calling it out bigtime.

If they want us to care about this couple -- both as a relationship and as parents -- they need to give us more.

The high tea was February 20 in Los Angeles, a Paramount/CBS event - a combined event from CBS with actors and staff from Y&R, B&B, and BTG.
Same night as Paley Center event in NYC.  (Cady and Jon had already been hired long before).
It's all starting on page 343 of the BTG behind-the-scenes thread.

Edit to add:
Well okay I don't know the exact dates Cady and Jon were hired.  They were announced around a week before the first BTG airdate, but no idea of their hire dates.    Don't know if they were hired at the same time or not.  Just that they were announced at the same time.

Paul is not alone in bringing it up. I do, too. Lin Bolen had such a thing over it. Her authentic claim to fame was the network expansion from half hour to hour but How to Survive a Marriage was her baby, too. And then Faye Dunaway playing her in NETWORK just ices the cake.

Yes, that's pretty far along since the first Table Read was 10-31-24 aka the day Sam McCall died on GH. So, the photo does not add to the lore. I took a shot.
