  • Strong opening, from Bill & Hayley, and then the Dupree family gathering for the press conference. I love that Dani walked in, ready to own the place (per usual). But the press isn't having it, despite Vernon trying to gussy up to the blonde reporter.
  • Derek is giving jealous-possessive with Ashley where Andre is concerned, and he should be concerned.
  • So cute naming the baby after Ashley; I had a feeling Alix would do that. A cute nod.
  • Ms. Shanice is totally the gossip of Garland Memorial, and I am here for her presence.
  • First night in, and Bill & Hayley are already butting heads. We love to see the cracks in the marriage already.
  • Anita is definitely a blunt force; I can see where Dani gets it from, while Vernon and Nicole feel like the level-headed ones in the family. Interesting. It isn't the dynamic I thought we would get, based on the promos/publicity photos.
  • Oh, Anita is giving the back story. We love to see it. Uh-oh Dani! Don't screw the pooch on this one.
  • Shanice's maroon scrubs come with a longer thermal in a darker hue; kind of wish Ashley's teal scrubs did the same.
  • Well, well, well.. here comes the drama couple! We love to see it.
  • Disfiguring Hayley's face? Bill, it was a punch, and barely a mark appeared to be left on your precious wife's face.
  • Oh, Martin has some kind of abusive/aggressive past, doesn't he?! Brandon is putting it together, doesn't he?!
  • Teddy?! Oh no one is immune from Dani's wrath and bitten words.
  • Oh, Brandon does not want to be the househusband. He wants to hit the ground running on his career. That's brilliant.
  • Here comes Vernon's fire as the patriarch of the Dupree family.
  • Oh, a flashback!! And Karla Mosley is in the dress she wore to the NAACP Image Awards. Beautiful. Mosley & Timon Kyle Durrett have both romantic chemistry and that fire former lovers need in daytime. They are magic.
  • Oooo, get it Dani! Get it! YESS!!!
  • NOT THE MARK ON THE FLOOR WHERE JEN JACOB (ASHLEY) NEEDS TO STAND IN THE SCENE!
  • Oh, this marriage is not going to last of your new wife has your ex-wife on her mind on the night of your wedding?!

The press conference felt very B&B. From the Forresters Duprees each taking a turn at the podium to the under-five press core shouting questions. Aside from that I thought this was a very smartly written episode by Sara Bibel and Judy Tate.

Final scenes of the episode:  Firefighter Derek leaves Nurse Ashley in her apartment.
Interesting, I had thought they lived together.

If he's a standard professional city firefighter, then he would have shifts like this:
24 hours on, 48 hours off, 24 hours on, 48 hours off, alternating thus.
With the "24 hours on" including sleeping at the firehouse.

The dialogue today says his shift starts in the morning, and implied that he was going back to his own home/apartment for tonight.

It's just a writing goof I'd guess. Plus would you trust ole' lughead to keep track of such things?

I don't even know if the show would write the firefighters in 24/48 shifts as I described above.

Edit: In real life: Prince George's County Maryland fire department does do 24 hour shifts for some firehouses, and regular day shifts for other firehouses.

I wonder if BTG will have a similar model?

Love to see it!!!!

It's a good start. But I would say let it stay stable for a couple of months...or worse go HIGHER than GH. And then, there will probably be BTS mess with ABC.

Same.

I do feel that while Martin / Jacob / Andre in particular all have similar haircuts and facial hair, it’s not unrealistic that men of that age in that area would have the same trendy style. However I have noticed in how they dress the men; they have given a lot of detail to individual styles so far to reflect their personalities. Martin dresses a lot more preppy/conservatively even in his more casual outfits with the Telfar jacket and chinos for the country club, Andre they dress a lot edgier with more black in his wardrobe and leather, very All Saints / Saint Laurent vibes to his outfits. The contrasts are there, just not as strikingly different as the females; but this is to be expected with menswear. I really feel their wardrobe department are doing a stellar job of giving each character their own unique looks to reflect their personalities.

I feel like DAYS could be called out for a similar thing whenever Brady, Eric and that other dullard I keep forgetting about is on the cast

TBH I don't think Frank GAF, cause look at their demo's, going on nearly a year of all time lows in the demos and literally nothing has changed. I dont think ABC cares either.

If BTG sustain's these ratings and even surpasses BOLD(or even YR) it'd be beneficial for ABC to look into reviving one of their soaps

Sadly I came back too late from my train trip... and I missed it. And now I'm too sleepy to wait for the CBS uploads, so I'm going to be watching tomorrow morning when I wake up.

    • I did not care, just clarifying that was the discussion point. If there are ice cream bars in Statesville I am sure there is a full spa
    • Seeing Peter Bergman (Jack) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) act opposite each other really makes me mad that their short-lived reunion in 2012 was just that... short-lived. I've always loved the Jack/Nikki pairing.
    • No.  I recall there was also a mention about how distracting it was EOB's Gwen wasn't wearing nail polish as well.  That it was someone's pet peeve. And, yes, the fact characters can have a manicure in prison is the wildest continuity issue here.
    • Can anyone remember Mary Ellen Stuart's run as Jenny? I'm trying to fill in the cracks for missing stuff that we overlooked.  Bulletpoints:  * Dated Ross * Rusty's police partner * Directly responsible for Dinah coming forward about George Stewart (Cam's father)
    • But that's not weird... nail polish is allowed in prisons via commissary. Same with general makeup, haircuts, and hair colouring products.
    • This is DAYS, the show that said you could brainwash anyone with simple kitchen appliances.  An actor's nail polish or lack thereof should be the least of our concerns, lol.
    • It was not that she wasn't wearing nail polish, it is that she managed to get a manicure in prison
    • "We're Knot Done Yet": the name of this lovely podcast AND what JVA tells her plastic surgeon at every appointment. In other news, Michele Lee is reminding me more and more of my old music teacher from elementary school, and I couldn't STAND that bitch.
    • I apologize if this has been covered already, but does anyone know whether Douglas Marland was HW'ing by that point?  If he was, then I see what he meant when he said (in so many words) that he had inherited a mess when he started at GH.  Aside from Alan and Monica, none of that material seems very promising.  The story with Mark Dante and the Corbins is the wrong kind of predictable (y'know, the kind where you know what's going to happen, but you just don't give a crap?), the stuff with Scotty and Laura is cute but toothless, I don't know WHAT the hell Gina and Steve Carlson's character are arguing about and Rick Webber has to be the dumbest man alive not to see David Hamilton twirling his invisible moustache over how to make a killing off Lamont Corbin's declining health.  (By the way, "LAMONT CORBIN"?  What is this, "The Shadow"?  And "Corbin Limited" sounds like some jive I'd hear over on Y&R.) In a way, it's kind of like watching today's GH, right down to the dialogue that's serviceable and pushes plot along but says nothing about the characters' inner lives.
    • It absolutely was; the narrative was there, and they followed it promptly. Maybe that's back when women had babies at young ages?!?!?
