So do I. I think KM is killing it and the relationships there feel right as well as with Nicole's kids (though Martin is a bit old for Daphnee Duplaix).

It doesn't take me out of the show so much as a couple weaker actors do, but this is Week 3 - things will get ironed out.

Re: families. I don't think we need a rival family at this point to be honest as the show is busy as it is at the moment. They can always pull out that card once Silkpress's revenge business is done and Bill / Dani / Hayley winds down. Not everything needs to be introduced at once (if anything I think they've introduced too many c-storylines at the moment that don't have the ability to grow for a while due to the business of the A/B storylines)  - we're just about to end week 3!

There's a whole generation that's only ever known streaming at this point and "Netflix drops". You often see them getting into linear tv shows and being confused at the concept of not only one episode at a time, but the fact that there's episodes spread out and aired irregularly during nine months. At least Beyond the Gates doesn't have that problem (except for pre-emptations).

I really enjoyed today’s episode! I was relieved that Leslie didn’t actually make a scene and she was escorted out before she could (thanks to Eva haha) based on what others said I was thinking she had barged her way onto the stage alongside Ted and Nicole. Definitely glad this story will be played out longer it looks like.

Martin and Smitty got another little kiss too today at least! Haha.

Are they still using real music in the background? Sometimes something sounds familiar, but then sometimes it’s hard to tell.

Good episode, but I still think everything’s moving too fast.

They really need to allow these storylines to breathe and develop all of these characters some more, which the exception of the core four. Ted, for example could really use a friend to confide in about Leslie lol and what happens to Leslie after all of this is exposed? She goes away and just pops up once a year to cause trouble like Orpheus and Clyde on Days? I agree, Trisha is a standout among the cast, and I feel she deserves more than that.

The pacing, and the fact that everyone in the family, the community, etc. are so fine with Dani after she just tried to kill people is B&B-like.

And yeah, Martin is still a dick. Hopefully, they bring in a man for Smitty to cheat with and eventually dump Martin’s petty bitch ass for.

I just noticed Smitty/Mike Manning was wearing the same tuxedo on today's episode from the soap's opening.

I liked today's episode, but they needed more extras at the award gala and someone to actually emcee the gala and give Nicole the award, not her family.

I loved the ending, and I'm sure Eva is going to double-cross Leslie before this story is done.

I was surprised to see Robert Christopher Riley, who played Michael Culhane on Dynasty, pop up as a co-worker of Ted's who attended the gala. The way Nicole interacted with him for a moment seemed to imply there was more to come with him...maybe her love interest down the line???

See this is what gets me and makes me think that Dani is more upset over losing her career and what could have been her career that she gave up when she married Bill, rather than losing her marriage.  I wish they would stop having Dani be so hung up on Bill and explore her as an independent woman who is learning to pick up the pieces of her life and stand on her own 2 feet.

date: Friday, May 2 | Teresa Zimmerman, Judy Tate | Steven Williford The drama-rama is drama'ing! This is juicier than the freshest of fresh peaches picked right from its home. Deadbeat, finally able to get his frustrations out physically on someone; instead of it being Bradley, it's Dana. I love the unraveling of Dana's names (Leslie, Sherry, Anna, et al.). It's juicy. And look at Dr Carlton, chiming in. I love the way Anita and Dani fled to Nicole's side, and then Vernon trying to excuse everyone but "immediate family" (and I am sure Mona as well) from the room. Dana is coming undone. She really is. Her numerous ways of pronouncing "Teddy" to everyone. Oh, Nicole's collapse into a furious Anita hearing "lover" coming from Dana's mouth. BILL KNOWS SOMETHING! His all-too-casual non-denial shows he knew about something concerning the affair, and of course the child bride wants to know what it is. Love that Shanice visited Vanessa; I wonder what kind of friendship they may actually have. Well, now we know Bill's involvement, AND the bombshell has been dropped: Eva is [supposedly] Ted's daughter he thought Dana aborted. "Smarty Marty". Whew. Good name for Deadbeat. I appreciate Dani's anger and hurt being focused into anger and love for Nicole. Dana swishing her way out of the main part of the country club to her closet was everything. A soap villain sashaying her way from the havoc she's wrecked. I appreciate that both Anita and Vernon are assuring Mona is not to blame in this. She's an innocent in this. But her looks to Eva? Those could cut like a butter knife. Douglas knows Vanessa has cheated and is continuing to cheat. ARE WE ABOUT TO GET KATHERINE VERSUS TED?! Oh, this is going to be even juicier than I could have ever asked for. CAN PEOPLE STOP SITTING ON TABLES! IT'S SO ANNOYING! Dana's little daydream of talking to Nicole was everything; that's the "crazy" (a.k.a., mental illness). Billy boy, it's time for your turn in the hot seat. Stop rubbing toes and get your ass to the main house. Not Dana showing up at the Dupree home. Oh, what does she have planned next?! Whew... chile. General notes: Trisha Mann-Grant (Dana) gave an empowered performance in today's episode. She commanded the set that day. This is an Emmy-worthy supporting performance. Ambyr Michelle (Eva) is one that has really shown in the past few episodes; she's another young star in the making. She embodies Eva in every single sense. She brings the scripts to life through her craft. Maurice Johnson (Ted) brought nothing. I'm not surprised he was recast at this point. Keith D. Robinson would have rocked these scenes and actually presented something to the table.
    • I agree!  I'm excited to see if Nicole forgives Ted, if Ted accepts Eva, if Kat accepts Eva, what happens with Leslie... if Martin's story will play into any of this...
    • I like that I don't know what direction they are going in next for this storyline. It's a great place to be for a fan like myself!
    • I am so appreciative of the camaraderie of watching BTG in real time with other posters here

I like that Andre is being nice to her
    • Wait, was Nicole really there in that scene with Leslie or was she just talking to herself? Nicole vanished.
