Still working my way through Thurs March 6.  Oh wow.
That line from Smitty:
"it doesn't mean that my needs and dreams are gonna be ignored by default. And I am not gonna put my life on hold - just to avoid upsetting you!"

I did that in my own life, gave up my needs and dreams just to avoid upsetting my "partner" at the time.   And giving that up - it gave me lasting scars.  It was many years before I finally left that person.

This is the catharsis of good drama.  I reexperience my own life trauma by watching it fictionally, and it gives me a way to process it.  I thought I was past it, but there are still layers of those scars within me, that I see I still need to process.

A good soap will entertain, but also inspire a viewer to examine their own life choices, and perhaps make needed changes.   I hope this storyline helps viewers to leave toxic relationships before there are longterm scars.

I really liked yesterday's episode. I felt there were so many layers going on with all the characters and storylines that it was just such a feast for the eyes. And I liked that while Dani was in the episode, it felt like she was the C plot to the B plot and other C plots being the focus.

I like that we are continuing to get some to see conflict with our gay couple. But lord, Martin is a complete and utter a$$hat. With that said, I just found it interesting how entitled and selfish he came across and the same could be said about Kat...though she's totally right about Eva. One can't help but side-eye Nicole a little bit who doesn't seem that way. Nor does Ted. Commentary on how when your black family make it easier on the next generation, the next generation is ungrateful. Time will tell. In any case, I loved that Smitty stood up for himself. As someone who have seen gay couples like that in the South (just flip the races), it resonated with me.

I continued to like the Kat stuff. I did love that Chelesa called her out on how she acts with other people, going back to what I said about coming across entitled. I mean girl came for Eva's clothes on sight. And now she has walked in on Eva in the wrong place, wrong time. Add on her coming for Eva earlier in the episode, Kat vs Eva is giving for me.

Now about Dani vs Hayley...lol. That also gave. Dani read her good and KM played that to the hilt while being softer. Because 'woman to woman, i'll settle for you' oooo that was soooo nice nasty good and well performed. And look at them sta

I was talking about Nosy Nurse. My favorite side character so far. And also was talking about how Andre is so into Dani that it's nice to see.

O course, agree about Dani & Andre. Hilarious t hat daily she says, "No more. Never again" and then they have sex & spend the night & she throws him out again in the morning.

You were talking about Ashley & Derek. My mistake. I thought you were speaking of Bill & Hayley. Seems like  I'm the only one remarking on those two.

Still not as good as Charity Rahmer, though.

Is she the perpetual low bar comparison point?

BTW, I dispute the idea that lesbians are always safer to tell story about. GL Otalia being a prime example. They were far more threatening than teen or YA guys.

Taboi's reference to "nosy nurse" was not about Ashley.
It was about Ashley's nursing supervisor "Shanice", the fun gossipy character.

GL with Otalia you have a point. But, ATWT they committed 100% to Nuke. What specifically are you referring to?

Well the story with Forbes March. He has said that Mason could not be physical with Noah, only shoulder taps.

Also killing Reid like that and never showing a Nuke love scene

ATWT did seem committed to Luke given he had multiple love interests crushes (Kevin, Noah, Brian, Reid) but Noah's other possibilities  (Zach, Mason) were treated like dayplayers

Ah so Bill and Hayley's home set is *supposed* to look unimpressive:

Thurs. March 6: Dani enters Bill & Hayley's new home and glances around at the living room decor, and then
Dani snarks to Hayley:
"This is nice! Bill hired Glorietta Interiors, am I right?"
Hayley to Dani: "I'm sure you didn't come here to judge my living room."

MVJ wrote week one all by herself

Wonder if those scripts are what got the soap greenlit

Dani to Hayley: "The fairy tell never tells you how Prince Charming can become a real son-of-a-b!tch, once that ring goes on your finger."

(this is also relevant to Martin/Smitty, obviously)

Bill is upstairs during this whole convo.  After Dani leaves. Bill enters the living room and asks Hayley if he just heard Dani's voice.  Hayley says yes.  Bill says "I need you to hear me well.  You cannot trust Dani".

This makes me wonder/speculate -- what if Bill was listening from upstairs, and is trying to gaslight Hayley to disregard Dani's warning?

How does this show keep getting Phideaux "Xaviar" wrong? Unless he changed his name again??
