That was the bare bones of my idea, yes. But I'll tell that story in private sometime, if you (or someone else) asks to hear it. I would basically use it to blow the last of the network budget as a prep for moving to streaming and culling cast lol.

No way, lol!  If Brenda comes back after helping Sonny die (yep, I said it), I want her paired with someone who's new to the show, mature and sexy as hell.  My girl deserves the best.

I actually like JPS as Valentin but find it bizarre that the show has found itself in a situation in which he’s been the only viable romantic option for Anna for years. JPS and Finola have more chemistry than almost any of the other current pairings on the show IMO but it shouldn’t be hard to find other options for her if they can’t or won’t commit to making Valentin a consistent presence.

Lol.  I am fine with her getting a new love interest.  Hopefully someone more exciting than that block of wood Murphy they paired her with last return.

I have personally always been a sucker for Brenda/Jason and what might have been.   I know Jason is beyond tired as a character now, but there is something really interesting to me about Brenda knowing Jason before he was Jason Morgan.   She is one of the very few characters that was close to both iterations of Jason.  I don't think Brenda would do that to Robin, but at this point Robin's own mother is being teased with Jason so I doubt that matters.

I am one who doesn't think Jason & Anna are being teased at all. Partners? Perhaps. Colleagues? Yep, looks like it. Romance? No way, not in hell, not in heaven, nowhere. Both Finola & Steve have looked at this idea with ... scorn. Some people look at that kiss & seem to lose their minds. Other people see the same scene & see subterfuge, actions taken hoping to escape injury or death. That they talk & work in concert doesn't spell romance, much less sex.

I thought we knew that JPS declines when it comes to contract vs recurring. So, I suggest it's not that they won't, it's all on the actor, not the show. At least in this one instance. If this is wrong, I'm sure someone will come along & inform me/us.

The fact that Jason/Anna kissed at all means there is a pairing being teased.  Will it become a full on romance?  Probably not.  It seems Jason is destined for Sasha now.   Obviously the show has been struggling to find a place for Steve/Jason after Jarly flopped again.  Colleagues and partners just don't make out on a soap opera.  It's an action that means something.

Just have to agree to disagree here. When I look at that scene, in Africa, in captivity, what I see is a diversionary tactic, period. Also, to me, one kiss does not equal making out. I agree that it meant something, just not something romantic. Also, Romantic Jarly hasn't been tried again so it's impossible for it to have flopped. Romantic Jarly's last attempt was completely derailed by Sonny's return from Nixon Falls, 2021. Neither 2024 nor 2025 has yet to yield anything but friendship, which of course is in itself valuable.

I honestly do not think they were going for it. I do not personally believe there was anything to back off of. Also I think both Finola & Steve have indicated that it was not ever meant to be even a prelude to romance. They point to the Robin-ness of it all.

I assume the same.  I didn't see a single positive reaction to it at least on here lol.  I also believe both Finola and Steve weren't thrilled about it as well.  Both seem very protective over their characters relationship with Robin.  We still do get scenes of them of them falling all over one another about how great of friends they are.  Which...whatever show.

That isn't good. It's PHENOMENAL.

GH would be wise to air this and kick off Jarly. I never gave a ton of thought to them as a couple before...I was kind of meh about them...but this video sold me.  I mean, sealed the deal.

The person who put this together has real talent. LW and SB should see this.

    • -- Tamara Tunie was good today, but can we hold back on handing out Emmys? I'm not seeing that yet. -- So Anita has Barbara's entire letter committed to memory, yet it took her DECADES to reach out to Tracy and Sharon? Uh....ok. I don't get the impression that THE DUPREES spent a lot of time thinking about the little people. -- We again heard "Articulettes Strong," this time in the letter. Make it stop already. -- I'll wait and see on this "Anita's Sin" story. My bottom line is that it's unfair to point blame when someone takes his/her own life. -- I thought Tomas looked fine af in that suit today, and that the fit was perfect. -- Why is Basic Ashley kissing her boyfriend while at work in the hospital? I find that inappropriate and ridiculous. Ashley still doesn't act like someone in love. -- The 3-way conversation among Ashley, Derek, and Andre was awkward as hell. -- Hayley was embarrassing for taking her pregnancy test to Dani's. Dani is embarrassing to harp on it. These two need to stay away from each other. -- Dani treats Andre like crap. What he sees in her beyond the physical, I have no idea. No way is either of these two in love. -- Also clueless? Bill and Hayley for thinking Naomi would love hearing about the pregnancy.
    • Susan Lucci was on bereavement vacation because her on screen mom had recently passed away so she was off canvas when this tornado occurred.
    • Thanks @YRfan23 Wow I didn’t realize the cast has gotten that tiny either which is absolutely pitiful.    Surprised that Budig is still on as Taylor barely watched any lol tbh but nonr of the recent daily recaps ever mention her anymore I figured she was out the door soon.
    • I love the yellow bumpers with the crew lol. That's Donna Lewis as the music at the beginning! I haven't heard her in ages. R.J. and Tea were so hot and so underrated. I remember seeing the bit with the Buchanan men promising to show Max a good time in his bedroom and it's still hysterical.
    • I think a lot would've gotten over it the same way they got over the Trina recast, especially since it became swiftly clear NAC is never coming back. The key issue, we agree, is Frank. As long as Trina is onscreen he's not touching that. As for Nikolas, honestly I'd kill him off. Adam Huss has done a wonderful job in a very difficult situation but I don't think he has leading man power for a soap opera (not because he's gay, but he's very intense and I don't think it translates to potential lighter or romantic material; his flirting with Ava briefly was strange) and I was holding out for Tyler to recover and return someday. I am not interested in Nikolas #5 or 6.
    • AlwaysAMC - Your posts are a crack up; they make me laugh.  Thanks.  I especially like how detailed you get enthused about something, and how you curtly and flippantly you reject that which you find subpar.  LOL.   What's great about Annie is her increasing rooting value as time goes on.   I often wanted Annie to be victorious.  Watros infuses her with an energy and a vulnerability that really works, even at times when neither should. Soap viewers often remember and talk about the Big Moments, which is fine, but what I also find really interesting is the 1-2 week time frame that follows the Big Moment.  Later, there are scenes between Annie and Rick involving a trip to the hospital (no way am I telling you why and what happens - hopefully no one does) that I think are as well done as the Big Moment.  Astonishing stuff. Oh..and to reiterate...I ain't telling you sh*t.  You'll just have to suffer!  Ain't anticipation grand?  LOL.
    • @alwaysAMC Glad you made it to the soft rock theme. I share your disgust for the Gilly story, as many viewers did. Gilly was never a big character, but she was a part of why the early '90s feel real and different for GL, and she deserved a much better exit. This was also the last worthwhile role Amelia Marshall had on daytime (I don't even know if Passions fans would disagree). This was also Petronia Paley's only major chance at story and as someone who always appreciated her work, I'm sorry it did not go better for her. And I liked Charles Ewing a great deal on Loving, so I was even more unhappy with how they treated Griffin. It's a deeply offensive role, in many ways.  As for slapping, you may enjoy this, if you are able to find anything onscreen underneath all the ham. It really goes into hysteria in the second clip. As a bonus, you also get a quick glimpse of why the Billy and Mindy recasts were not accepted by viewers. One positive I will say about this clip is that it's one of the few times I remember the show making clear that Roger was able to defend himself if he had to do so.

    • ER Season 15 (first-ish time) BUFFY Season 3 (First time)
    • Probably less than a NBC or ABC soap. There were occasionally slaps. Women slapped men. And parents occasionally slapped their children. There was a period when Mindy and Roxie would fight. But slaps between women were few and far between. The only one between women I can really recall is Vanessa slapping Nadine. There was once where Bea Reardon almost slapped Vanessa, but she didn't. There are probably more, but in general, I always thought CBS soaps (aside from B&B, which used to love Stephanie slapping Brooke) shied away slapping, sort of the way they limited "hell"s and "damn"s to so many per week.

My favorite moments are with Erika and then Robin and Tim Stickney around 7/8 minutes. There are also little yellow bumper moments with the crew, which I enjoy more than the real ones.  There's also a music video at the end to I Will Survive, with Linda Dano and JFP having a cameo (they certainly do know how to survive). Also a fun bit with a frazzled crew member showing cards with the names of every EP she presumably worked for at the show (or maybe just every EP, period).
