Do we think Martin is responsible for the death of the guy (Alan?) Leslie is grieving?

Dani is textbook borderline- impulse, unstable, with severe abandonment issues.

I think she will seduce Bill away from Hayley just to prove a point

They give me JR and Sue Ellen, down to the cheating. Sue Ellen was fine if he was discreet and she could keep up the facade of a happy marriage but once you start being messy, that's when the problems come in. I actually think this is something that a lot of people can relate to and was a really smart storyline to play.

I suspect that at some point...like the best soaps...her disconnected part of the plot will converge with the Duprees. It's been a minute since current soaps have done that well so I hope it's true so MVJ can show off. I agree she and Andre have a spark, and I'm definitely intrigued by their history. Is she the one that got away, or is Andre just a constant flirt? In any case, I don't mind seeing a girl/guy friendship that is just that. A friendship. So far...she's the good girl and he looks like a bad boy. That can be a great friendship. Think Lucas (not that he was bad, but still got in trouble)/Haley on OTH.

I don't know about the casting, but I do like that all the minor characters that would normally be played as tokens by black actors/actresses are being played by others. It's meta, but like a nice subversion of the trope. And Lauren so far is the standout for sure.

I can see that. It's making me think of the Brandy single of the same name.

Hmmmm I could see that. But I could also see the theory mentioned before that what if Andre's dad was Ted's twin.

Definitely interested.

As for casting I do think they're a lot of newbies and green actors on the show... I do. mean you have to cut your teeth in the business somewhere. However, I do think that they're some seasoned daytime actors who are recurring on current shows that could bring a lot to the table if featured regularly on BTG.  I am excited for Cady McClain and Jon Lindstrom and hope they explore their characters more on the show.

I do think in terms of casting, bringing in some other big daytime names would help as well.  I do think that Victoria Rowell, Alicia Minshew,  Tonya Pinkins, Valerie Pitiford, Timothy Stickney would fit in well in this show.  What do you all think??

Ohh a Twin would be very interesting.  Perhaps Leslie could project the love for Andre's dad on to Ted, turning it into a Fatal Attraction type storyline?

    • I really CAN'T with the two dolls comment. It's so cynical. So disgusting. A billionaire telling normal working people this is just... you can't make this sh-t up. That's comics villain level of vile.
    • This episode was on fire and definitely the best the show's done so far.  And of course the two big reasons were TMG and Ambyr Michelle who were phenomenal.  This could be both their Emmy reels.  Sad thing is they will probably be in the Supporting category so only one of them will win.   Claybon was pretty good when Martin confronted his dad. I'm glad to see he's improving.  I also liked that scene with Andre with Eva, showing some compassion with his cousin.  Now that the secret is out, Eva and Leslie can start to interact with more of the cast, like at the end of today's episode with Leslie showing up at the Dupree's.  And hopefully that will help the show be not as boring - this storyline was the only one that was truly interesting, and now it gets to branch out.  Minor nitpicks: bad editing during the Eva/Leslie/Ted scene by themselves, and when Bill was rubbing Hayley's feet.  They gotta clean this up.
    • It's the best episode ... in months.
    • I'm sorry to respond so late. It's just this is the first time I'm seeing this. You are amazing! Thank you!
    • I like KKL's hair straight, but I also like the waves. I have no issues with her hair... AN and JMW on the other hand... have had some rough moments hair wise the past few months.

    • I think I can help with pointing to a period where to start watching. The show is available in youtube in multiple playlists that I'm sure someone already sent to you, so I won't do that. You can easily find them also by typing Edge of night and the year you are searching on the youtube search engine. Mid 1979 till the end (1984) are pretty much 90 percent there thanks to some amazing uploaders. I would suggest for a new viewer a starting episode of 6077 - it's the episode that begins the Mansion of the damned storyline. Before that... it's the end of a prior storyline and I found it very confusing and hard to watch, because you are getting the climax of something that was happening long time before you start. You can start watching from 6077 - the episode where Nola gets the offer to do the movie script... and just go from there. Once you watch this episode... you won't be able to stop.  Quite frankly if someone had told me to start with this episode... I would have spared myself the struggle of the other 30-40 episodes before that. If you need help with links or playlists... I can also help, and you can message me anytime.
