From scrolling through Eileen's IG account, it seems that she's been doing a lot of fun stuff with her husband lately, such as watching pickleball, and participating herself in his poker tournaments, and also going on vacations, and doing family stuff.

As she says on her IG post "Working a little. Playing a lot."
She's taping Y&R on Feb. 19, so I guess this wardrobe airs near end of March, give or take a week.

BTG: January 2026 Discussion Thread

A lot of people will claim that hey, with the likes of David Canary and Erika Slezak there just wasn't a lot of room for other actors to grab awards but it still doesn't make sense to have a world in which Kathryn Hays never even got nominated once, Elizabeth Hubbard never won for her portrayal of Lucinda Walsh (especially when she specialized in the kind of OTT performances the Daytime Emmy voters often loved to reward), Colleen Zenk didn't get a single nomination until the '00s and Hillary Bailey Smith was virtually ignored until she went over to One Life To Live. The men had slightly better luck but it was somewhat laughable (or merely coincidence?) that Gregg Marx, Julianne Moore, Brian Bloom and Ellen Parker all held their Emmy statuettes in their hands when their presence on their respective shows were in the rearview. All that I could've overlooked if Kathryn Hays had gotten even one nomination in damn near 40 years of solidly strong work. I mean, Kim Sullivan Hughes was the last character ever created by Irna Phillips. If Hays' performance as Kim isn't a metaphor about the lack of regard for daytime soaps, I don't know what is. Yes, it's probably also P&G's fault as well, which is why I still don't trust them when it comes to any soap opera.

Yes, and I'm guessing that was Long's intention, but she was thwarted by higher-ups. It was a perfect opportunity to diversify the cast by creating characters who were part of one of their central core families. All these decades later and only now do we finally have a soap about wealthy Black characters, so it's not hard to imagine there was pushback at the time. The same thing happened when she wanted to introduce a Jewish family. I believe she ultimately quit GL over that when they didn't let her see it through.
I give Long credit for trying, even though I thought that Barbados story was kind of terrible. Maybe it would have played better with what she originally planned out.

Same. Besides, Madison is a young doctor. It's part of her story that she graduated early because she's a genius, if I am not mistaken. Young professionals tend to be wary of how they're perceived. They don't want to come across immature as their age would suggest. A 'Madison' would never act like that with her girlfriend in her workplace!
That was painful to watch. The only change I've not appreciated since TT's joining the show as co-HW and EP is that Vanessa has become submissive and borderline offensive. Remember that speech about crawling to her man? I get it - there's multiple ways to love and lust, but why does everything in this story have to be so miserable? (answer: because Joey is dangerous lmao)
Remember they had to change Ted's shot from Maurice to Keith. Maybe that derailed their budget for any further opening credits update.

ARTICLE: E! Lands Canadian Broadcast Rights To ‘Beyond The Gates’

Here's what I remember about the US soaps airing & moving in Canada. Any corrections/additions welcome:
BTG - CHCH until the end of August, then CTV Drama until the end of 2025. E! in January 2026.
Sunset Beach - CHCH. At least initially it aired at 3 while the Buffalo affiliate aired it at noon. Maybe the last time before BTG that a soap here didn't air at the same time as it does in the US without being a day ahead.
AW - CTV - until the end.
AMC - CBC until the mid 90s, then A Channel (what is now CTV2, then owned by CityTV). The revival was on FX Canada.
OLTL - Same as AMC but I think A Channel stopped airing it it before ABC did.
Days - Global, then WE (same company but on cable) when it went to Peacock in the US.
Y&R - CHCH (apparently), then in the 80s Global bought the rights, airing it a day ahead at 4:30. It moved to 4 a few years ago.
ATWT - CHCH until Passions was cancelled, then Global.
GL - CHCH until the mid 90s, then none for a while? Global at the end?
B&B - Some CTV affiliates. I know for a few years around 1993 it was day ahead in Toronto. I believe at 4 (maybe 330?) to try to get the Y&R viewers to tune in before switching to Global at 4:30. Possibly because of the Sheila/Lauren crossovers. Then CTV in its regular slot. From 2013ish-2023 it was on CTV2 before promoted back to CTV.
GH - Global until 2000, then CTV until 2009?, then A-Channel/CTV2 for a few years (I think CTV bought the stations by then), then CityTV by the mid-2010s to present.
Passions - Replaced AW on CTV initially before moving to Global in 2000 to finish the NBC run. The Direct TV run aired on SuperChannel (pay-tv). Did it air day ahead at 330 leading into Y&R at some point?
There was a rumor that Global & CTV made a deal to swap their rights for GH & Passions in 2000.

Thanks for letting us know! I watched he next episode. It's funny because in 1998 I would've been like: 'Victor is so cool and powerful! He bought the TV station and canceled Leanna Love's trashy tv show!!'.
In 2026 I'm like: 'Oligarchs are a danger for democracy and freedom of speech'.
PS. can you perhaps move paisoaps' files into the yearly folders? Everything is so tidy - it's a pity those files are on their own.
