I could see someone like Brenda make a dopey move like this because she has a history of making terrible decisions.  I don't ever see Lois doing it.

There is no reason for level headed Lois not to involve Ned, Olivia, and Dante in this choice.  All of them are (mostly) decent people that would have respected Brook's decision here.  Lois hates dishonesty and lies.  This whole thing is idiotic.  Even if Lois/Brook Lynn were in on this together and knew Gio was her son that would make a bit more sense.  I know it's going to come down to the excuse that Lois was protecting her daughter, but she's essentially hurting a bunch of innocent people in this.  It's not 1950.  Teenagers get pregnant in high school and give children up for adoption and have successful lives.

Yeah. I could almost find an excuse in my head for Lois's actions, but even I would be hard pressed. The best I got was that Lois made a bit show of showing off Gio and the rest of the family under PM's run which gave off a vibe of a secret...just not that she was hiding a baby from her daughter. And that...I feel like the writers are going to say that she maneuvered Gio onto the canvas because she's always known where BLQ's baby was. And I just don't see her keeping BLQ completely clueless on the baby's whereabout all these years.

Where's the Carly gif of her saying I don't buy it. I like seeing Rena and Amanda in a story, but I expect this to have the same reaction/backlash as Peter is Anna's son and Cody's is Mac's son. And at least with Cody and Mac, they were able to find a way to make that work.

The only potentially interesting outcome of this needless secret child plot for me is again, if Gio lashes out by going full rich party animal, drinking and drugging and becoming generally hedonistic to cause trouble. And even that is not worth aging up Dante and BLQ so much.

Nah.  It will all turn into a bunch of drama less nothing.  Gio will be so happy to have 2 alive parents he will be the grandson/great-grandson whatever the Q's have always wanted.  Everyone will be mad at Lois for 5 minutes, but then totally understand giving the child to a widowed woman that was sad was for the best.

I mean, I swear I remember Olivia, Sonny, Brook Lynn and Lois talking about Gio's mom finding out she was pregnant after her husband died.  Did Gio's fake mom run around with a pregnancy suit for months?  While playing for Carnegie Hall?  I need to know about Gio's dead mother tbh.

The only way I could see this story *almost* working is if Lois reached out to Ned and Ned/Lois decided where the baby should go.  Then, after years and Gio losing his mother Lois had regrets and started slowly moving Gio into the fold so BLQ could eventually meet her long lost son.  Although, Ned seems none the wiser on this so that's just fanfiction.  Again, it would create appropriate drama between Ned/Lois/Olivia/Dante/Brook etc.

Even FV’s power has somewhat diminished- look at Howarth and Easton.

Well he has enough power to keep looping JPS back into his role of Weakest Cassadine ever so...but seriously...

By all accounts, including his own, he has little to no bts power now. He has admitted this several times since COVID on his YouTube show. He came back to the show in an incredibly fragile state mentally, and has never gotten back the level of stability he had before his COVID breakdown. When he had his latest episodes this summer, he was basically forced to return to work or there would be temp casting. He has said several times that they make him dye his hair. I only watch his show when he has a true soap veteran on, plus a handful of GH ones, maybe 10 of them, and he has been pretty honest about his mental health and how the BTS culture of the show has changed.

It is also pretty clear none of the talent has much power nowadays. Genie Francis only got rehired because of the longevity of the public outcry directed at Frank specifically. Monaco would have been untouchable even five years into Frank’s tenure. Burton has come back clearly humbled and just happy to be with his lifelong colleagues again.

Thank you for all of this tea. I did not know that MB had even had one. It does put the potential of his breakdown story under PM in perspective.

As for today: I like how they didn't even bother to have McKenna do the accent lol. Frank does not care!

Nor do I, quite frankly.  He could've come in wearing a Groucho Marx disguise.  I would've just shrugged.

I was just about to say...wait. Ned knows??? lol. I mean that would be cool if he had done it in the past. But unless the writers just do something sloppy, it does seem like fanfiction at this moment with what's been shown on screen.

It's almost making me what to go back and see if I can find the Brooke/Chase wedding scenes to see what Lois said about Gio's family again to see if it feels like a made-up story. Almost.

I would say ideally you give Lois a co-conspirator in this Gio plot.  Ned, Olivia, or even Tracy.  They helped decide they didn't want Brook or Dante to go through with the teenage pregnancy and Lois reluctantly agreed.  Thus, giving Ned/Olivia some conflict that involves Lois and
BLQ but not in the obvious love triangle way.  Instead, it's just going to be Lois getting the entire blame.

Tracy being at the heart of this would make sense. Or Olivia. They both have mob ties that could further justify wanting to keep Gio safe.

And now I've realized Tracy is a great grandmother to a 20-year-old. It is one of those moments where I wonder if they will even ponder the dynamics beyond having Ned joke about her being "great-granny."

I agree with @Darn that all this is a waste of time for Dominic and Alexa, who are both very strong and also good together. But so much of the long story on this show (if any exists at this point) seems to be about largely marking and wasting time. I still think this may all lead to Chase ending up back in black widow Willow's arms again though, and I'm here for it if it gets that himbo off the show.

I think Chase is a decent enough B-player, maybe paired off with Sasha if they are both staying around (unless they de-relate her from Cody), but maybe just don't have him at the Nurses' Ball again...

JPS also has an extremely vocal fanbase. By the end I don't think Howarth and Easton did. Not to that level, anyway.

From what I can tell, I believe it. So many people still want Vanna to happen. I was a fan maybe, but I'm over it at this point. Especially if it reduces Anna to Whiny Anna who I really do not like.

I agree. But I just recently noticed that now he has no family in town. I don't want them back, but it just made me go Hm. But I'm here for always having that Good Guy/Hero archetype...usually a cop...on soaps.

Howarth did. But the problem was they were all bitching about Franco being gone and he should come back again as Franco and that was a non-starter.

I'm sure we'll see Violet again...

Lack of family probably should be a reason to write the character out, but he might be better off on his own given what a drag Finn was.

I still see some fans talking about how he was the only one who loved Liz's kids and Lucky can never compare. They must really be committed.

Ssssh.

Even if this baby storyline was to blow up him and BLQ, he does have friendships with Dante, Jordan, and the PCPD. But I am shocked I am just realizing how slowly he has been isolated enough to be written out...almost impossible a year or two ago.

Well...all soaps need that character that isn't related to anyone. :)

The Liz/Lucky scenes today were very good. That they have been relegated to B-players is a sign of just how fucked this show's priorities are.

This comment makes me laugh, because every named character in this quote now has been involved in a paternity storyline.

Two years and we have paternity reveals for Trina, Sasha, Cody and Gio. Please stop GH.
