Lynn Martin isn't ficore. In this February 2024 interview, she talks about being a Y&R writer and going on strike, and then coming back to work after the strike, and then being fired as soon as enough time had passed that they could legally fire her.

After her stint at DAYS, she went over to BTG for a while.

I saw that she wasn't on the fi-core list. I was wondering that since she wasn't fi-core, why is she not a member of the WGA, since she has written for so many shows. Being that she was nominated for a WGA Award in 2022, that proves she was a member 3 years ago. But now she is not, and it's not because she went fi-core.

Lynn Martin was first credited as a BTG scriptwriter March 3, 2025.
Michele Val Jean is very pro-union and I think it's likely that she'd prefer WGA writers.
According to Lynn Martin's Linkedin https://www.linkedin.com/in/lynnmartinwriter/
-- she finished at BTG in June 2025.

As of today (Oct. 11, 2025), her most recent scriptwriting credit (in the onscreen opening credits) for BTG was in the Oct. 2, 2025 episode. (I don't know when her final BTG script airs/aired).
It's puzzling because BTG wouldn't list her in the onscreen credits
if she were nonWGA, would they?

Yes, anyone who writes is listed as a writer in the credits, whether they are in WGA or not. Two of the Days long-time writers, head writer Jeanne Marie Ford and story editor Fran Myers went fi-core decades ago and have always been listed in the credits. They, however, are not nominated for WGA Awards when Days gets a nomination.

Oops - I messed up there. I had confused this with a different scenario.
Episodes written during a WGA strike don't show writers' names onscreen.
But episodes written in normal times do credit the writers regardless of their guild status.

Jeff Beldner was out of the credits for today's Y&R and Dave Ryan was listed with Marla Kanelos instead.

I guess that was Errol's scoop from a couple of months ago. Jeff was fired after asking for a raise.

Gotta pay off those new sets first.

Hey, maybe there's an opening on BTG's writing staff?

As of October 15, 2025:

  • Tracey Thomson is credited as executive producer and co-head writer.

Was Guza still listed? If not, that would mean he was under contract for 150 episodes of 200 produced for season 1. Interesting.
