Jazmen Darnell Brown updated his LinkedIn to show a new job and that his contract with Beyond the Gates ended in June with Season 1.  Interesting...

https://www.linkedin.com/in/jazmendarnellbrown/

Lynn Martin is also out at BTG per her new linkedin update and related post,

https://www.linkedin.com/in/lynnmartinwriter/

Danielle Page, Sara Bibel, Judy Tate and Teresa Zimmerman still show active jobs at the show on their Linkedin profiles

So from original writers, the following are out
Guza, G Martin, Brown, L Martin

In Giddens

In Thomson but we don't know if she'll be on the writing team

That's for the update.  I liked JDB's script too.  So that makes it two short stints at two different soaps now for JDB.  Maybe daytime isn't for him.  Will be interesting to see who replaces JDB and Lynn Martin on the SW team.

These writer departures are concerning.

I'm very curious to see what the new team looks like. Unfortunately, it'll probably be months until we see these changes on screen.

That's heartbreaking to hear Jazmen is out! He is their best script writer!

They really are given they are not HW roles where you can see an obvious regime change.

Is it a budget issue?

Buget probably has a big part in all of the backstage shuffling.  Also, it would be hard to fire the main source of the show's weakness i.e. (IMO) that MVJ is not a gifted head writer and really struggled out of the gate with the storylines.  Changing up break down writers and script writers is what execs do when they don't want to (or can't) fire the head writer. Look at Y&R with Griffith. He's gotten rid of so many qualified writers and the show is as boring and bad as it has been since he returned as head writer.  Maybe tightening/repositioning the writing team will help MVJ in the second season.

I wouldn't say so; I'd wager it may be a seasonal contract thing. I mean, per Brown's Linkedin, he's got his development with Lionsgate, so that could have easily played into it; or, like Guza Jnr, they came in to help lift the soap off the ground and were not meant to be longterm stays.

Jazmen and Lynn's scripts will air through the remainder of 2025, if not the early part of January 2026.

OMG thank you for this. After that one-two header he did this week, it warms my heart to know that we at least have Jazmen to the end of the year.
