I think you've been watching too many soaps, and getting conspiratorial.

Because it is equally likely that a writer with his experience was paid more when he was on a network-based salary than for a streaming service.  And a new producer wanted to cut costs and go with a writing team that fit her vision.  And his contract was up, so it was the right time to move on.

I believe we're all influenced by the statement that said he was leaving immediately.  But, that was not necessarily as much of a diss, as it was a WGA mandated way of writing about contracts.  Because, a production cannot hire new writers while they are in good faith negotiating a contract with a WGA member.

Unfortunately, we were left with only Leo. Talk about bottom of the barrel gay guy. He is the worst representation of a gay man.

Javi is the Latino version of Leo. That's very unfortunate.

Kerry isn't a Leo type but he's being written like some bad guy in a very cartoonish way.

Yes, it's dreadful. Who green lighted this? They should be fired too!

Kerry is definitely the prize here and the guy to kiss.  Kerry still needs a major haircut. The actor playing Kerry just recently got a trim. He looks great with short hair!

I can only imagine how bad the ratings would be if the body & soul was airing on NBC with a dose of Leo overload.

It's unfortunate he's barely on. Then bam he's Lady Whistleblower.

We got a painful overdose of Connie but can't get more well rounded Kerry.

I would have been cheering if Bonnie had died. Though I will say kudos to the make-up team, because Bonnie looked real messed up. It was good to see Justin, too.

I can't agree that Kerry had any potential either. The actor has no charisma whatsoever, and barely seems to be much of an actor tbh.

Abigail Klein is the blandest actor on the show. Stephanie could be much more interesting and easily given more layers and nuances if the actress wasn't the definition of generic. On opposite sides of that coin, I really enjoy Elia Cantu and her projective MorningNews voice. She deserves to be so much more than she is on this show.

I see they are now building up Philip to lose his mind again. He's been a breath of fresh air and one of the best things about the show. JPL is engrossing when he chooses to playing things straight and is good at showing the complexity of Philip, so it'll be really sad for me to see him start to spiral. The DiMera takeover plan is so tired to me. I just hope whatever they have him do this time, they don't go too far from redemption, especially in contrast to all of Xander's evil deeds.

OK, I'm not even going to cover Bonnie's injuries after the fall because I not only don't expect realism, I know that they don't have access to Google in the writer's room.  I know this because Xander & Philip don't seem to know what a corporate takeover entails.

However, the fact that the serial stalker doesn't even have a lair, and is stuck crossing out 8x10 photos in the park is laughable!  Isn't a bathroom, a hallway, or somewhere beyond a public park for this stalker to conspire?

Also, when Bonnie fell (two floors?), did they just pick her up and drag her over to the ER because she was already on site?  And regardless of who sent the text, why would someone enter an elevator without looking?

These Body&Soul episodes are getting worse and worse. April can’t get here soon enough.

The two favorites were on full display today too. This is one of the things I’m hoping that we don’t see from the new writers. Days needs a balanced canvas again more than anything right now. That, and no more anti-women writing. Seriously, does Ron get some kind of sick pleasure out of writing Joy and Stephanie as so dumb and subservient to Alex? Like he did with Gwen/Dimitri? Like he did with Nancy/Craig?

And, where do Javi and Leo go from here? Are they now just gonna be that typical annoying Ron couple that does nothing but be annoying? In a perfect world, Leo would be dead and Javi would be stirring up trouble for like Will and Sonny or somebody. And yeah, I don’t care about the age difference between Javi and Leo but when it’s as obvious as it is, it should be written into the storyline, just sayin’

Btw, Jada being a dick to Kerry is just gonna make me like him even more.

And again, poor Abe. And poor Kayla. I can’t even imagine the roasting he’d be getting on Soap Twitter if this [!@#$%^&*] existed in real life lol

Yeah, the actor who plays Kerry is stiff as a board. To think that 10 years ago at this time, we had the saga of Paul/Will/Sonny playing out with NuWill hopping into bed with Paul. Compare that to today's gay love triangle... oy.

Even though I'll always identify Jay Kenneth Johnson the most with Philip Kiriakis, his version of Phil's decent into madness was creepy. John Paul Lavoisier's version allows the character to vacillate between sweet, campy, and slightly off-balance. If this is the road they're taking for Philip, JPL is the better actor to portray it. JMO.

Agreed about Elia Cantu. She has a great presence and could be a real force on this canvas. But this Fake Rafe stuff is just awful.

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
