-- Sidwell is in the opening credits? Jesus.

-- Kai still in the hospital? And now they're making us wait to tell us what's wrong with him and why he "can never play football again."

I guess I should be happy that the bad football scenes will end.

-- Today's show was a dud for me.

Given the major roles some of the writers who made GH what it now is will have at BtG I'm not sure if the shows will be as separate as we may hope.

I do agree GH can never improve if risk-averse Frank is still there. Unfortunately, the ratings dropping as soon as they made any slight change last year probably just makes it more likely they will stick to what they have until they are canceled.

I agree with the posters who said Frank needs to go. It's been 13 years now! But others have said he brings the show in under budget so there's little incentive to get rid of him.

This was a telling line... Carly said the most attractive thing about Sonny was that he could get her custody of Michael, so she ignored the dangers that he posed. Some self-recognition!

It's crazy how the story lines of 1996-1997: Jason's post crash personality, Jason going to work for Sonny, and Michael's paternity, still directly affect so much plot today.

I used to be a Frank cheerleader. That stopped, I guess, 2 years ago. The nickname for his taping style is "Fast & Furious". (It's not a compliment.) We know his "style" creates problems because we see them with our own two eyes each. We know he has a great deal of trouble letting anyone go. We know the cast is too big. Nathan Varni loves the big cast that they can rotate people in & out of. We know because Steve B said it in a podcast that Gary Tomlin praised the actors for working so fast that they got some godawful number of scenes/episodes done in a ridiculously short amount of time. Now, in our lifetime directors directing actors & acting is somehow an outdated idea. I still try to compliment when they do something right but most of the time I'm mad at my show for not being a helluva lot better than it is.

That's even longer than Jill's last tenure, isn't it? I believe she set a record with 12 years EP at GH. Now, you're saying Frank has bested that? There's something to be said for shorter reigns!

My suspicion is that Disney is pleased with him.

For those of us who are diehard Carly fans this period has been both amazing & hard for us to watch. I think LW's Carly is showing the most character growth she ever has! Love that but it is at the expense of watching her hold herself in such tight restraint. She's so worried about Michael that she is risk-averse & we're not getting to see full-on Mamabear & she's not acting on her intuition & she is putting up with almost everyone! The only good Carly thing is that she is pretty free of having to prop, support, lie for, etc. Sonny! She & Jason have even disagreed which is weird.

Show & character history is so important right now & I do love that.

LOL.  Loved your whole post.  I guess Kristina owning the same bar she was managing and bartending part-time for years isn't much of an event.

Jordan being so mid and constantly cool is her whole style (and a nice contrast to the over-the-top scenery-chewing that's done by the rest of her extended family).  I cannot believe they have her son playing a 30something doctor when she looks 20something.  She's the most beautiful woman in ABC Daytime since Renée Elise Goldsberry.  I'm glad they're treating her better than they treated poor, under-used Evangeline (who definitely belonged with Trevor St John's character, if the show didn't wimp out).

I hope Cyrus kills Gio & Kai soon.  I'm sick of Trina's aimless stories at the art gallery and art class with the quarterback.  They're worse than Liz when she was talking about painting the wind back in the day.  The actress that plays Trina could do a great job if they made the character (figuratively) dark.  It's doubly a shame they got rid of Esme.  Trina having a nemesis that corrupts her would be far more compelling.

I thought Cody & Molly were cute.  I hope they don't send Cody into a destructive spiral and turn him into another AJ.

Count me in as a fan of this Jordan. Love her with Isaiah. It’s interesting how slow the show is taking their romance. Also enjoyed her going off on Drew the other day. At one point they were definitely Chem testing her and Drew but it never went anywhere.

    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.

    • I started a separate thread for the same tribute, but of course it can be discussed wherever. doesn't matter where. Fyi  Jason Cook, Staci Greason, and Eileen Davidson will be there as well as Reckell and some of the current cast Thread for Live tribute to Drake https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/68987-days-currentformer-actors-live-video-tribute-for-drake-hogestyn
    • Seeing Nicole and Martin together reminds me of watching Alice with Mickey Horton in the 90s and 00s. The seem more like peers than mother and son.  The younger half of the cast (35ish and below) is playing younger, and the older half (35+) is playing older.
