Members te.
Peacock only has around 1.2% of the market share and is really only beating P+ and Pluto TV. Mind you D+ only has ~2% and Hulu ~3%. So it's tight between non-Netflix streamers. This is the closest chart from June I could find from a quick Google: Please register in order to view this content Regardless, something's gotta give eventually and these streamers will eventually fold into each other at least those with a pay tier that's losing money. I guess stuff like Tubi and Pluto might not since they're FAST, but at the same time Pluto is from Viacom and could just fold into being a free tier of P+... Members Liberty City
Well, truthfully, neither Peacock nor Paramount+ were real stable in my usage of them until.. maybe two or three months ago, lmao, so maybe that caused some issues? Supposedly, Peacock added 2.8 million subscribers during the first week of the 2024 Summer Olympics. And, according to Sportico (with citing to Antenna), Comcast stated that Peacock had 33 million paid subscribers in a recent filing. Again, not concrete. And Paramount+ is down 68.4 million (as of June 30, 2024).

Members Jdee43
Why don't they just put DAYS back on NBC? NBC isn't really broadcasting anything in the daytime, and the show still conforms to broadcast standards.
Members Liberty City
At this point, that'll never happen. The time slot went back to the broadcasters.
Members te.
Exactly. Affiliates control the slot now from my understanding, so the best NBC could do is offer it up as an alternative. Risk is its broadcast ratings would be even more awful because the national coverage wouldn't be great.
Members Liberty City
Exactly, and if it's actively in the top ten on Peacock on a weekly basis, then it's clearly having substantial enough success that the platform is keeping it around. Yes, multi-year renewals were nice but this is one-year extension on the final year of renewal we're already in. It's a promising sign of things to [hopefully] come.
Members DaytimeFan
It's incredible bang for the buck and why I think CBS greenlit Beyond The Gates - soaps produce an incredible amount of content on a comparably shoestring budget. Plus, when Hollywood went on strike, the soaps kept going because of the separate contract. I think if Peacock folded, the show has proven its value and would find a home elsewhere. That's the upside of streaming, you aren't locked into a timeslot and therefore not really locked into a 'channel'.
Members Antoyne
Hopefully it never gets to that.
Members Poolie3000
Days’ 60th anniversary falls on a Sunday next year, so no anniversary episode on the actual anniversary. Then, in June 2026, we get to celebrate Queen Dee’s fiftieth anniversary!! Please register in order to view this content They better go all out and bring back Eileen, Christie, Andrea, and Alison. Bonus points if they can somehow borrow Kirsten Storms and Jensen Ackles for a day. Tracey E. Bregman reprising Donna Temple Craig for a couple of episodes would be a great way to bring Marlena’s Don years into the mix.
Members detroitpiston
Its interesting to me that the show got a nice bit of press these last couple of weeks with Drake’s death, Day of Days etc and ended up becoming Peacocks top rated series. None of the streamers ever talk up the numbers for the soaps and I think its a shame because the shows are clearly performing well.
