You're in luck. I think last week we had NO BODY & SOUL for at least 3 of the days. Believe me, it was a welcome respite.

Honestly, it's hard for me to pinpoint any female character Ron likes lol.

Marlena? Lol

All these women get saddled with the worst stories. Not that the males get vastly better material or anything. It's just very clear who Ron's favorite male actors are.

Have they explained to us why they need to reboot Body & Soul from scratch, rather than just continue to produce it with the actors and writers who were hired before? And is it like DAYS, where there is a backlog of months of episodes that fans are currently watching while Abe & Kate take months to film new ones?

I mean, aren't fans going to miss Jessie Whitherspoon as Charlemagne De la Croix? (p.s. I had to look up Deidre Hall's character's name on the DAYS wiki).

Also, WTF, they're filming the soap at the Pub? What in tha let's-not-build-a-new-set BS is that?

They said that the original lead actresses all became attached to other projects after the cancellation, so Abe suggested recasting all of them.

Kinda shows how little Abe and Kate know about soaps and soap fans 😂😂

I'm certain Stephanie's amazing PR powers will assuage the fans. I mean, look at how she saved The Spectator.

BTW has this been how The Gates was developed? You get two producers team, some doppelgänger actors, then a director, then a writer, then a set, and you're ready to film? They make it seem easy.

GH: November 2025 Discussion Thread

I thought the scenes between Britt and Jason were well done, so I'll give KT props for that at least. I agree it felt like she was asking too much of him. It's unrealistic to think Jason, of all people, would be 100% committed to anyone at this point and he actually shouldn't have to be when he's just offering help? Britt also has family that would be happy to help her, so it's not as if she's all alone in the world.
The whole Dalton murder and Britt/Sidwell connection is fine I suppose, but it feels like the show just scrapped Emma's only story. All the months she spent trying to get in good with Dalton yet she never cracked the case and now he's dead.

That's great that you've found something to enjoy. I remember my first telenovela as a child - Rosalinda. I was obsessed. I was sooo little, practically a baby, but remember re-enacting scenes from the show, fake falling down the stairs like Rosalinda and fake-getting run by car like she was. I would recreate these hyper dramatic moments all day long. My father cringing every time he sees me. 😄

Cherie Jimenez as Gabi on Days. I am not sure if Camila Banus was ever super popular, but she led storyline and was on the show for years.
Not to veer off topic, but I am also quite fascinated by the Carly situation on GH. I know TB wasn't immediately accepted, while Laura was due to the Bransford situation, but it has to be rare to have such longevity and success with three separate actors in the role. Are there other roles/actors that have achieved that?

Thank you for reminding me! I think I know which ones you are referring to. It's just so hard to follow what is up and what gets taken down from YouTube. I think they've been cleaning a lot of channels due to this new streaming thing.
BTW, I was just watching again and I guess Susan Lucci was on hiatus, because Erica is nowhere to be seen. They left us on a cliffhanger and now I watch every episode expecting to see what happened with her and the clown. Manipulative writing.

Kimberley is another, definitely, especially as she got to stand on her own with the Musketeers phasing out.
Those are the responses I was most interested in seeing, but I didn't want to make a lot of rules because I am enjoying seeing the different suggestions, even for people who were replacing lesser-known performers.

I'm interpreting this thread as focussing more on recasts that had to replace popular performers, and thus had to prove themselves rather than just taking the place of actors who hadn't made much of an impression or proven to very popular with viewers.
eg Michael O'Leary as Rick on GL replaced Phil McGregor but Phil hadn't made much of an impression in the role and that was why he was replaced in the first place.
