Whitney & Chad hooking up as brother and sister is another one. We could go on and on about Passions storylines being inappropriate though… 🤭

GL: Jonathan and Tammy. Enough said.

Really? I'd say that they have a great deal more that could be said about them. I know it's not a new thing, first cousins, half-first cousins, kissing cousins, the thing is taboo or not, they were incredibly popular. You cannot say that about most of these inappropriate storylines.

AMC: Bianca's attack. I happen to tune in for the episode because I was hoping it was a fake-out. It was disgusting on so many levels that I never watched AMC again. Heartbreaking because AMC was not only my first soap, but I was the only one in my family who watched it - so it was *mine*

Here, are you speaking of Bianca's rape? At the time I just could NOT believe they were going there. I mean I get it & as I like to say McT was the anti-Agnes so naturally, of course, she'd want to play out every single lesbian trope & the more beloved Bianca became, the more terrible things had to befall her. So, of course, she became pregnant from the rape & yes, of course, she would determine that she wanted to keep the baby.

It was so inappropriate when Ridge went into Caroline's bed while she was passed out drunk and then proceeded to have penetrative sex with her while she thought it was her husband - Thorne. They later sort of re-wrote it to Caroline telling Ridge that she... "sensed" that it was Ridge at some point during the act and allowed it to happen. But in the initial phase of the storyline... Caroline was shocked to discover she did not sleep with her husband Thorne.

Then the final disgusting storyline element was when this disgusting thing... confirmed to Caroline that she wants Ridge and only Ridge and she can't have sex with her husband again.

So... this was basically a romanticized rape.

I forgot! My memory had blocked out that happening. Like I try to block out nearly 90 percent of Bradley Bell's stuff.

Which is made even more disgusting by the fact that Caroline already was a victim of rape before this.

And then Brad Bell repeated this with Ridge and Brooke. That was also clearly a rape, even though he backtracked after it happened.

To this day I can't believe the serial rapist Ridge Forrester is still portrayed as this show's leading man and hero. Who berates women and calls them "whores" and "bitches". He... who is the biggest man-slut there is.

I did not like how Ridge took advantage of an intoxicated Caroline considering that she had been raped a year earlier. Remember too that the initial storyline of Caroline overindulging in champagne leading to Ridge taking advantage of her took place during the writer's strike so it might not have even been Bill Bell's plan. Then again Bill Bell reused this storyline 6 years later on Y&R when Malcolm took advantage of Dru who had overdosed on cold medication but Bill Bell later said he regretting writing the Malcolm/Dru storyline.

Morgan (played by the wonderful Sarah Buxton) tells Ridge that his wife Taylor has written a letter specifically asking HIM to sleep with Morgan... LOL... so that she can "mourn the loss of her dead baby" 20 years ago...  And this is only the beginning. Ridge actually took that printed letter as something that his wife would actually ask of him... and proceeded to penetrate and impregnate Morgan. Imagine sleeping with your wife's best friend, because she wrote you a letter asking you to help her mourn. Of course Taylor did not write any letter and any sane person who is not a creep or an idiot would know that their wife will never ask of them to f-ck another woman.

This is the exact type of stuff that makes people cringe when they hear someone say "soap opera". Bradley Bell has done so much damage to this genre.

I will forever point out that Bradley did not inherit his father's talent.
