I have no doubt Frank would cast Bree again if he thought he could get away with it.

Yep, and LuLu might as well remain in the coma...

Landon is a fantastic actress, and would be a great "get" for the role. If you've watched her in Animal Kingdom or Yellowstone, you can see, like these producers do, how much more she's putting into her characters. I have no doubt that if Yellowstone were to continue without her, that she would quickly land another part. All the speculating either way doesn't matter. We're not casting LuLu, #firefrank will have the final say. And Gawd help us if it's Bree Williamson, Jennifer Morris or (yeeesh) Kerry Butler.

I'm not allowed to say why but you're in luck, you can mark Bree Williamson off of your list.

Are these actresses being considered.

Bree is not.

Fans of soaps seem to put them down by asking why some actors want to return. Work is work. Streaming is big  but a lot of those shows are only 10 episodes a season & a good number get canned after a year or two. Soaps produce 250 episodes  a year.

I just wanted to add to this idea. It is not putting down the genre to have real world knowledge of how hard the work is. One of the reasons Vanessa Marcil only signs short term contracts is because the show is a grind, and her outside life is more important to her. Vegas paid her more money, and residuals, and took less time in the year to film.

Working on these shows is more of a grind than ever before, and it was tough 10+ years ago when Landon was there the first time. The money also isn’t as good as it used to be.

Stability has different meanings in the entertainment business. Even on streamers you can earn soap money, and do it with less actual time on set. And the time you do have it is encouraged to do the kind of work that is creatively fulfilling.

I do agree on all your points just adding that a lot of the issue outside of AI with the SAG AFTRA strike was that actors working regular on these streaming shows were not getting enough salary to cover for their insurance.

A big problem with the streaming shows is that they're locking actors into the same contracts you would have on a 22 episode network show, but for 6-10 episodes. That means you get a lot less pay and many actors have complained about being blocked from doing other jobs while under contract which is where the struggle comes in.

Listening to Landon's interview on the previous page and also her one on The Locher Room, this makes more sense to me. She talks about how after ATWT she was told she would move to primetime and she couldn't get a job. Then the Y&R gig appeared to really affect her, being fired so soon.

Yes she's on Yellowstone now, but she isn't one of the faces and she's not guaranteed to pick up work immediately after. For all she knows, it could be another post ATWT or post Y&R where she can't get work. If GH is offering her a good contract, why pass it up?

Exactly! It seems like Landon is one to take a gig, regardless of whether it is daytime vs. primetime. Work is work, and if the gig at General Hospital is more promising than a wavering "possible" guarantee at Yellowstone, I'm sure she would take the promising gig over the "possible" one.
