I guess I can give credit where it's due.

It's good to see Drew/Willow appear to still be on. Again I felt that it was coming from Willow more than it's coming from Drew when they first kissed. And it's nice to see that continues to be the case with the New/Old Writers. And I like Nina/Drew though it now seems the election is being played as an afterthought.

Alexis vs Sonny was great. I was worried about what would be done with Alexis now that her law degree story was done. But...uses are still being found for her so yay.

That said...

Happy to see Laura/Portia make peace. However it continued to show to me that the Heather storyline is no longer Laura's story. And Heather is slowly going back to being wacky. Le sigh. I am happy to see more of Kevin, too.

So TJ and Molly more or less completely vanished right out of this storyline, and it's all about Kristina.?

Yeah, I actually would disagree. True Kristina was the main focus, but I felt under PM we got every argument under the sun with TJ and Molly. Only for that to vanish once PM was out the door.

I do admit however I was surprised to get what we got on Friday and Monday...and Tuesday of seeing TJ and Molly reacting though. But that shows how Kristina's pov overshadowed theirs by the time the baby loss played out.

I am sure TJ/Molly will get a miracle pregnancy.  We will hear about for awhile and then they will go straight back to the backburner.  Frank loves a pregnancy story and the show obviously needs more children lol.   Even with this surrogacy story and the million Molly recasts, I don't get the sense the show cares about them as a couple.  They are plot points to bring in and out.

GH hasn't cared about them in years. This storyline is the most exposure or POV either of them have gotten in forever but they still don't really care IMO and neither do I. Just write them out and bring Molly back at some later date.

Gay men are often more punishing toward queer issues in the industry than anyone else.

At least this time no one went to the press to smear the actors involved, unlike what happened with Kish.

I think Brennan hanging around is down to the show just trying to latch onto any charismatic or somewhat well-received white man, especially if he has any chemistry with Laura Wright.

The show is in a very odd place with the characters they love most (Jason, Carly, Sonny) because none of them have pairings which are popular with both the powers that be and viewers. Sonny/Nina, Liz/Jason, Sam/Jason are all no-gos for TPTB, but nothing the show is trying to put feelers out for is going anywhere with viewers.

Honestly the Anna stuff with Sonny was a non-starter to me anyway. Sonny is always forgiven. Mulcahey followed that line the last time he wrote for the show and I imagine the same would have happened here, with the excuse of his meds being tampered with.

I just got the sense Ava was being boxed in, with most of her relationships (what was left of them) being minimized or destroyed, and if the show was cutting longtime characters/actors due to budget, I think Ava (who has never really worked or made sense to me as a character beyond Maura West being a charismatic figure - but admittedly I am nowhere near a regular watcher) would have been an easy choice.

Molly and TJ have gotten some really compelling material these last few weeks and with the work Kristen Vaganos and Tahj Bellows have been doing I’m more invested in them than any of the other pairings currently on the show. I’m hoping with KV being upped to contract regular that the show actually does allow them to lead story going forward but we all know how the racism embedded in this show works.

100%.  I do think the actors are really doing good work so I care a little.  I just don't find them compelling as a couple because up until this story we didn't know anything about them.  TJ/Molly just were there.  Because Molly was born on the show and HP played her for years we have a bit more detail on Molly.  I still feel like I know nothing about TJ.

It’s been a long time since the TJ and Molly actors I watched were around apparently so I will admit I was taken aback by these recasts that looked nor acted like the ones I knew. But I will say since I started watching when PM joined, both actors in their roles have grown on me. Unfortunately most of the surrogacy surrounded Kristina’s feelings about the baby  Molly/TJ were written as just angry at each other or overreacting at Kristina who literally was planning to keep their baby because they fought about her fitness at being their surrogate, and then she went through a window.

I say all of this to say the new TJ and Molly with some of the focus they’ve finally been given have won me over. I still don’t understand the TJ/Jordan/Trina/Curtis/Everyone’s Auntie relationships. Before I quit watching Shawn whose actor was smoking hot with LW as Carly was maybe TJ’s dad I think.

Also it finally hit me today that while I thought Nina and Maxie were just fun gal pals, Stafford’s Nina was somehow related to Maxie’s ex Nathan who was related to Dr Brit and Obrecht’s evil clown ass. I’m pretty sure all these people are related and with how GH operates they’re dead too. I love the Nina and Maxie friendship regardless so even if I’m wrong they’re still two gal pals I enjoy.

    • It really is ridiculous how happy episodes from 40 years ago make me. God, MKA is so young!
    • Holy sh.it. THAT was a damn soap opera. I’m at a loss for words for how good that was.

    • Same here.  Anyone who voluntarily left Margo's penthouse set (except to go overseas or to Heaven) was immediately on my blacklist.  lol.

    • The penthouse was my favorite set... and it changed hands from Margo to Draper/April to Miles/Nicole then to just Miles... before he opted to give that beautiful place for that drab house with the even more drab Beth.  That was a jump the shark moment for me LOL
    • The storyline April and Draper are involved in during the summer/autumn of 1979 seems fairly "benign" but soon turns very serious.  April has a VERY intrusive, wealthy mother (Margo Huntington Dorn).  Margo knows that April and Draper (who've recently had a miscarriage and are theoretically never going to be able to conceive another baby) want to buy a house.  Margo hoodwinks them into buying a house they can't afford.  The house is listed at $100,000 (about $400,000 in today's dollars).  Margo pays the first $35,000 and leads Draper to believe the asking price of the house is $65,000 instead of $100,000.  If Draper finds out his meddling mother-in-law paid 1/3 of the cost of the home and tricked him, he'll be mad as hell.   Meanwhile, Draper has received a job offer from a prestigious New York law firm.  Margo pulls some strings and has the senior partner in the firm rescind the offer, to keep April in Monticello.  If Draper finds out about THAT, he'll be even angrier with Margo than he will be about the house trickery.  All of that is "bubbling under the surface" in the fall of 1979 but will be the next major story, as everything begins to spiral out of control.   Yep, you've got the Karrs and their very basic middle-class house, the Victorian-themed place where Miles and Nicole live, April and Draper's old craftsman house with the exposed beams, the Madisons & their Mission revival house, and Margo with her 1970s-chic penthouse.  Each of the sets is completely different.  And their budget was like zero, lol.
    • It felt weird and out of place.  I get it. While I agree with those on here that say he's gotten better, it's still really bad. I'm not seeing the "good" acting some see...but I'll give him a B for being better than when he first started. There's potential. I'll leave it at that.
    • It's like watching paint dry at a slow-ass pace. It's bad acting. Entirely. Excellent? With Claybon? Never. Ever.
