I wonder if the actor wants to leave, as you'd think with Jason back and with Charlotte back they would want him around.

This was one of those strike stories, wasn't it? From the dates it did seem like they dumped her even pre-Mulcahey. I know they are fully out of ideas for Valentin but bringing her back seems desperate.

You mean Jake. I approved of the scene between Jason, Liz & Jake. I do  wonder, though, if the young actor got another gig or is going back to school more or ... whatever. 

Now, we not only missed seeing Kristina & Ali go ice skating but also didn't get to see Jason take Jake to a ball game. I much prefer SHOW to TELL!

Did people really think they were going to pair Tracy with Cody?!!!

Yeah, I meant Jake. The scene was good, but if he leaves they're also eliminating any chance of story with Jake.

For 30 seconds, it looked like we'd get young people showing up all over the place. That's gone.

I saw someone on Twitter claiming that the actress who plays Charlotte had to leave because of health reasons plus schooling and that's why she's back. No idea if that's true but I guess it would be one explanation.

I don't see Jake being gone for too long as he's old enough to play out story with Jason and they will want to take advantage of that while Burton is still around. I do wonder if they are recasting.

That would be very stupid, as he's the best young actor in his age range on the show and was outacting half the cast even as a child. They'd also been giving him more both over the last year/during the strike and during PM's run, but PM is now gone.

Hudson West does book outside work - it frankly surprised me he hadn't left by now, and they should lock him into a contract - so I fear it's just the show/Korte not having any interest in any of Jason's children that isn't Danny, particularly one with Elizabeth. Still, it ain't over til it's over and he could always return from however long this possible exit may be.

I know some fans think Korte hates Liz so you may be right.

I would think if he's going it's the actor's choice, but then you never know with soaps, they often make the wrong decisions. 

At least we are, presumably, past the days they would just recast him with a 25 year old underwear model, as P&G loved to do.

I think they were doing a fair bit with both sons under the recent regime until the Jason/Pikeman story totally stalled (they then had Jake and his teen buddies try to get beer at the local bar and have Jake bust Finn to Elizabeth for being out drinking with a random floozy), but this would indicate a change if Jake does go overseas for awhile. I think part of the idea under Mulcahey, etc. was to build a contrast and possibly rivalry between the sons/half-brothers, a la Jason and A.J.

That's such a no-brainer you'd think they would continue, but if Korte only wants Jason/Carly I guess they might deemphasize his kids for a while.

The last year of this show has been the most disjointed it has ever been.  The sheer volume of starts and stops and dropped stories across that period is incredible. FV has dropped stories before, but nothing like this. The only excusable one was anything to do with Mac. All the rest are just amateurish for a team this seasoned.

Yeah, I don't think it was a good look at all. Though it DID split up Vanna.

 

I agree on Mac. But it's a shame that it sounds like they are swiftly reversing what momentum PM managed to get going.

I don't think Jason/Carly is going to happen tbh. I think they've feinted at it and toyed with it (and the exiting team wrote the hell out of a few scenes for them, particularly when he moved back above Bobbie's again and told her about his tattoo) but it's never been popular with the audience with LW in the role and they don't have romantic chemistry. Which is why it keeps dragging out. I don't think they have any idea what to do with either of them romantically atm - I think EK/FV, etc. just know it won't be Liz or Sam or whoever else.

I do suspect the old stories about Korte not caring for Elizabeth or for Jason's non-Carly/mob relations are true. I also think everyone still at the show is looking for a way to keep Valentin, sadly.

If they were going to put Cody with an older woman, they should have put him with Felicia. It doesn't seem that the writers are that invested in Felicia though, as she barely appears since the new writers came on. 

From watching the other day, I couldn't help but notice that the short scenes, with nothing  happening except the actors looking at each other as if something smells, along with an occasional line to move the plot along, are back with a vengeance...

And, I personally think those fans are correct about that. Of course, I think the more important "hate on" comes from Frank. 

Liz keeps losing people. There was Franco. Then Cameron. Next up Nik. Most recently Finn, although THANK GOD. And now Jake. We'll be left with The Baker & our Best Nurse!
