Did you have pumpkin in there Stace? He has been using Popsicle too much lately! He needs to rotate out. I loved when he said "spanky, spanky buns" the other day at the HS.

I love the Luke stuns Tracy with his words. I wonder if that is at the Q mansion or at the HS. He better put those freaking rings back on!

Okay, my husband is out, my kids are watching American Idol, I am about to uncork some wine (I made it til Wed) and open the breakroom. It is 8:15 central...

Remos--I tend to talk a mile a minute. Sorry you couldn't get in a word--LOL. Thanks for reviewing my story today. I incorporated your suggestions and sent it on off for critique

According to Bob Guza, we shouldn't miss the May 1st episode!

Guza poses the question of what happens to Max who supposedly swore undying devotion to Carly, when Sonny finds out he slept with Diane.

Guza says the scene with Max, Jason, Diane and Sonny where it all comes out had him literally on the floor watching the taping. He says he wanted to call Brian *Le Grand Fromage* and ask him for another hour. "'I'm just going to let these four people rip on this one issue of Max having slept with Diane.' It was unbelievably funny."

Lainey---for you!

Thank you, Remos.

This is GREAT!

Thank you, Hooked.

I'm telling you -- I jumped on the LuNacy train before it was "cool."

And now I'm on the Dax train before it pulls out of the station.

That whole storyline is to die for funny.

CH is a fabulous little actress.. and they really need to give her a contract.

(Move over Jane Elliot, and make room for Carolyn Hennesy. Really, she's that good........ almost!)

Forgot to say happy birthday BSG !! Hope it was a good one.

I am officially just waiting patiently for JE to retire or quit or whatever. For Tracy to die. Whatever. The sooner the better.

*shrug*

(although I wish JE nothing but he best in her personal life, I have run out of patience with Guza and this show. I'm done.)

I get that... I really do. I think many of us have expressed the same sentiment in one way or another. It's hard to root for a show that seems content to tear down what they start to build, and treat strong women like the are garbage.... why do we watch this, again???

I'm still not convinced about the Max part, but I agree about the rest of it. CH is wonderful, and has the second best facial expressions on the show (tied with Spinelli).

I'm really, really hoping for some scenes where Diane, Spinelli and Tracy are together. THAT would be amazing to watch.

Again, curious punctuation. I tell ya, it will be interesting but not what they are trying to suggest.

Sorry I missed everyone tonight. I had to lie down and by the time I returned, all of you had gone your merry old way. Perhaps tomorrow night...

Hooked, you're welcome. It really is coming along nicely. If I had a voice I would have just talked over you... it's all good. :D

I can't wait either, hooked. What's so great is that we're getting so many differently worded spoilers for the "I love you". They're making a big deal of it, and I love it. Of course, he's said it before and we knew it already. It's going to pack a lot more of a punch this time, though. They're billing this like the main event!

Also love that so many other characters are mixing in with the story with The Haunted Star that includes Tracy.

I third the motion for some Tracy scenes with Tracy, Diane, and Spinelli. That's a trio to die for. JE and BA were hilarious in what little we saw of them last January.

Still think Spinelli would be perfect as Alice's long-lost son which would make him a Quartermaine. Honorary Q...same difference. We'll take them however we can get them, right?

He,y Ms. Q ~

A few more thoughts on the nicknames...

During the legendary "You are my escape, Tracy" scene at Wyndemere, Tracy said, "I am not a Spencer. I am your wife."

If you want to add a little Robert, there was a scene with LuNacy and Robert the episode before the renew vows/Luke jumps out the window, goes to the Markham Islands. (May 2006, but I'm sure you knew that already. ) TR, adlibbing I would bet, was talking to Luke and referred to Tracy as "Sparky Butt". Don't know if that would dilute the LuNacy-ness of it all. Hmmm...

Oh... girls come with their own sets of issues... believe me. I actually prefer the rock and slime collections to the search for the 'right' brush or the melt down when the hair style fails.

I wonder what load of trouble Anna is going to bring with her this time. If she's getting Luke tied into soemthing with AZ, I bet Tracy will want her gone before she even unpacks.

We're well over a month (almost two months) away from TG's vacation. Wonder how all of this will play out ('cause they never give it to us straight in spoilers...)

Re: Spoilers

Sounds to me that Wubs is speculating based on the Soap Opera Weekly scoop. Speaking of...Glad to see that our girl is important enough to get a spoiler mention in SOW. Yay!

Re: Nicknames

I will keep Robert out of it, 'cause I want to keep it all to LuNacy. But someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Robert also call Tracy "Sparks" when Luke wasn't around? That seemed more endearing that just mocking Luke's name for her.

    • Same. And you know I've been trying my best with Y&R and how I feel about GH.

Also same.    Amen. And not alone in that minority.  I'm still wondering if that was a good drop off point for him all day. In a way...it truly is given what Ted and Eva's arc has been so far. But I will miss Maurice all the same.
    • This is probably more for the classic thread, but for me this type of writing starts ramping up around the time of Taggert's arrival, where a character pays lip service to Sonny's flaws but there is no real analysis and we are ultimately meant to be on his side. And I think it just accelerates, as there always gotchas and outs. Like Laura blaming Sonny for Lucky's "death" when we knew Helena was responsible. It's the type of writing I find most manipulative because they play audience criticisms against them.
    • I hope none of the theories of about June amount to anything and she just goes away. There’s nothing interesting about the story or character, and I think fans are constantly looking for deeper connections in everything.
    • You hit the nail on the head.  Nope, you are not alone. I like her too.
    • Out of these, I hope she isn't connected to Samantha and Tyrell. I just don't see a long term story there. I hadn't thought of a connection to Leslie but now that you bring it up...what if we find out June is Haley's sister and both were abandoned and raised in foster care. June ended up on the streets and Haley ended up with the Duprees. The mother who dumped them in foster care? Leslie. If they end up making Eva a stolen child of Nicole's, it would be a good way to develop some family for Leslie to help keep her on the canvas. She could ultimately make up with her kids and then she'd have access to Bill's money/power which could help her become a long term rival for the Duprees.
    • This was a HUGE story on the show for many years. Justin (Ross's brother) and Jackie Marler were Phillip's real parents. They showed a lot of the backstory in flashback when Jackie came on the show. Jackie caught Justin in bed with another woman. She was so devastated she divorced him immediately. She found out she was pregnant. I'm a little hazy on this--I THINK she told him she had an abortion, but maybe not. Maybe she just never told him she was pregnant. Anyway, she decided to give the baby up for adoption. She went to Europe (I think it was Amsterdam) to have the baby. She had the same doctor as Elizabeth Spaulding, who also was pregnant. The doctor was a personal friend of Alan's. He told Alan that Elizabeth's baby would be born dead and she would not be able to have more children. Instead of telling his wife the truth, Alan conspired with the doctor to do a baby switch. The doctor knew Jackie was planning to give her baby up, and she agreed to let the Spauldings have Phillip. Elizabeth woke up from the surgery and was told Jackie's baby was hers. Jackie almost immediately regretted it. She insinuated herself into Alan and Elizabeth's life so she could be near Phillip. They all became good friends. When Alan and Elizabeth returned to the states, they stayed with Jackie at first. Eventually, Alan and Elizabeth divorced and Jackie married him so she could be Phillip's stepmother. It was a disatrous marriage and they also divorced.  Justin found out the truth. Justin and Jackie remarried. Elizabeth found out and wanted them to have custody of Phillip. Alan, of course, was furious but for some odd reason eventually agreed to it. (He did not know at the time Justin and Jackie were the bio parents).  Ross and Alan had kind of an up and down relationship over the years. Ross wanted to BE like Alan in the beginning. When he was married to Carrie they were actually close friends with Alan and Hope. Their relationship totally degraded when Alan was chasing Trish Lewis and she chose Ross instead. Yes, and he also did not approve of how Alan dealt with Phillip much of the time. So they never became friends again.
    • It just does not feel like Y&R anymore, even if a lot of the actors are familiar. It's just... completely lost, and I've never not felt it couldn't be turned around until now and the past few years. Stunt castings (Colleen Zenk) do not remedy the mess. At all. The focus is all wrong; there is no focus. None at all.
    • 1) Ross and Alan had a history aside from Phillip. In the early '80's Alan torpedoes Ross' campaign for DA in retribution for Trish Lewis leaving him and falling for Ross. Ross then assisted Alex in kicking Alan out of Spaulding. Then in the late '80's, Vanessa and Ross break up over her working at Spaulding with Alan, and she's briefly engaged to Alan. Then Alan shot Phillip accidently, and well....you get (part) of the picture.  Phillip trusted Ross, and their closeness really chafed at Alan. I do not think Ross really initially held Alan adopting Phillip against him. Jackie had lied to Justin and had the baby in secret.  Jackie discovered Justin had had an affair and divorced him. When she came to town, she actually ended up marrying Alan to be close to Phillip. Jackie and Justin eventually remarried and had a daughter named Sam. Jackie dies, and Justin leaves town about a year later. Justin makes a brief return, but it's mostly tied to Sam and then Phillip leaves in '91. Justin leaves town again.  Rick and Phillip patch up their friendship, although there are some other rough patches. 2) No, Rick and Fletch generally got along. But I don't recall them interacting much afterward either after the divorce. Meredith had left of her own accord, and Fletch and Rick drifted into other stories.
    • Has Sonny been a mobster since Guza? Yes, he has. Back then was he portrayed somehow as a good man, righteous? No, he was not.  Now, fly through time. Sonny has been credited with taking care of Stone & then Robin. Before you could turn around twice & shout! Sonny donated enough money to build a wing of the hospital in honor of Stone. IMO Mulcahey was on the right track. Maybe that lead to this? We may thank him yet.
    • I totally agree and that's why I wish they had played up Mary's connection to Reginald because I think Alexander had more chemistry with Considine. They never explored her backstory and just thought Mary belonged back with her family. I think a better story would be if she rejected Vince and wanted to stay with Reginald. I know we've litigated Reginald's character, but I wish they had played it that way because it would have kept the Loves and the McKinnons connected beyond just Vicky and Jake.
