It's all insider stuff that may or may not have been accurate. Michael "inheriting" might not have translated into MIchael running the company, but would be another slap in the face to Tracy who is the rightful inheritor/CEO of ELQ.

As for them looking alike, I have noticed they've been darkening Michael's look - but personally I don't see the similarity other than hair colour.

Even though I didn't post, I did read it. I love these articles you keep popping in with.

Great Luke and Lulu today. I hope the new PTB keep up these relationships between the original Spencermaines. IMO Lulu doesn't have a problem, nor did Luke. Alan and Monica had problems, Lucky had problems, Lulu and Luke are not and were not alcoholics and I'm so glad they are continuing with that reality. Also nice LuNacy propping. Lulu is so right, Luke is better with Tracy - and she's better with him. On their own or with others they are just…. plain….

OMG- I can't believe this forum is back up!!!!! I am soo excited I found it. everytime I tried to find it it was down so I gave up. I need people to catch me up on all the important things if there are any. It's been a while for me. While i do believe that Luke was alcoholic i think it was just right at the end. he drank like a fish but it was never he needed a drink. Lulu, on the other hand I think is just a wierd storyline. I like what they are doing with it I think, but if they were going to do it well I think it needed a little more buildup. You can't go from no problem at all directly to 4 people in one day commenting on your drinking (all of which looked like the same glass at the same table) and then having your garbage and house full of nothing but empty bottles..... come on people! as much as I love GH they need to learn by the fact that the only other 2 soaps on the channel were dropped. They need to make stories that are worth watching. They stories themselves don't need to be believable (ie- ise princess) but the writing does. the audince isn't stupid! That all said- I am soooo unbelievably mad that they broke up luke and tracy (yes, it's been that long since I've been on here). They can do it for a short time, which seems to be the case, as long as they keep writing them scenes together, and touching, funny, dramatic Luke and Tracy scenes that we all know and love- not these little snippets where there is barely anything. I'm jonesin' for a LuNacy fix and it's not coming the way I like it.... though i do love them like crazy and trust that they will be bringing them back together- especiallhy since it keeps being hinted at. Can we just touch again on the fact that the drunk lulu story took 1 afternoon to unfold but the luke figures out a way to successfully win tracy back is taking it's sweet a$$ time!!

does anyone know what happened to all the tracy/luke and classic tracy clips on youtube? I lost all of mine whenn I got a new computer. I didn't have a dvd burner so I couldn't move them all over. I wanted to start getting them again so I can burn it to a disk but I can't hardly find anything that isn't brand new....

ok- so now what's been up with everyone? how's everyone been? what's new in everyone's lives? hooked- long time no see (though i did see your hubby in the soapdigest a few months ago, he looked so different than in other pics)

hooked, I have 2003 through 2008 LuNacy backed up on CDs and then you edited 2009 for me, and I think in 2010, I only downloaded clips from here or there. If I ever get back into vidding LuNacy, you'll be my first source of clips. Thanks so much.

Carl, interesting article. Thanks for posting.

knh, welcome back! I bought a condo and adopted a kitten and am still teaching full-time. How are you doing?

Yeah, I think I'm the only actually LuNacyFF on this board. Everyone else came as a Tracy or Luke fan, but I never could stand them individually or in other pairings so for me no LuNacy truly means no GH.

I don't think you know my story, but I left GH for years and then one day I was vacuuming and saw LuNacy on my screen and I never turned back. I caught up on things and have been a huge shipper since. I'll go down with that ship too, if I'm forced to. Has it really been 7 years? Wow, time flies. I remember the early years when my kids called it "Tracy" and had to give Mommy her one hour of sanity every day, lol.

I didn't know that story, but that's really cool.

I love LuNacy, but I'm a Tracy fan either way. I was a fan of Tracy long before LuNacy, and I will continue to be after. If anything, I think Tracy has helped the character of Luke. She made him viable again once Laura was gone. And while LuNacy has done good things for the character of Tracy, she was just as great before and continues to be even though LuNacy is divorced. I have no doubt that if they have broken them up for good, I will continue to love her.

Going back I can appreciate what she did… now. Year ago she just scared me (Tracy is far too much like a couple of aunts of mine - I kid you not. If her name was 'Barb' or 'Joyce', I wouldn't have stuck it out). From an artistic POV I think JE is brilliant, as is TG, and their love for each other in r/l carries into their relationship so completely that one can't help but be drawn in (so long as you haven't been stagnated on the LnL merry-go-round). But outside of her work with Julie Berman, Anna Lee and Tony Geary, that knowledge of her brilliance just isn't enough to keep me around. From my perspective they are two halves to a whole, and one half just isn't fulfilling enough for me.

That's a conversation I'm looking forward to. Writers have a wide open field on this one since Gino was not a well known individual for GH fans (not even sure how developed he was on The City). I always love BB/JE scenes regardless, but this particular exchage will be rather informative I would imagine.

    • There are the makings of good Emmy reels in these past couple of episodes, but the industry is still going to favor even the most mediocre stories and performances on the older soaps. And with the pressure from the government over race I can see the academy shutting out Beyond The Gates to avoid criticism from the administration and the far right media.
    • oh, definitely! It's too bad she hit the start of a rough transition period for the show. She shines, but she's stuck with bad story and some (if not exactly bad) not great co-stars. Uh, who did Maureen O'Sullivan play? (Sigh--and only if I'd understood exactly who and how wonderful Teresa Wright was in '86) God, the summer of '84 was literally one event after another. Kim's outfit alone must've been worth a small fortune. And poor Maeve. She looks so uncomfortable. Rebecca Hollen told a story on Locher Room where Maeve dropped the f-bomb during the shooting of it. For some reason, she wasn't being listened to, and had just had enough. As a producer, I would've been holding my breath as my pregnant actress kept walking around strange and undoubtably uneven sets in that long skirt.
    • Thanks. I'm glad we have some fan memories of these years as this is such a typically snide take on the genre. It's also poorly written and reminds me a great deal of the tedious "snark" recaps that became popular in the '90s. The end in particular. The 1979/80 stuff I have seen is much more polished than a number of soaps at the time. It was very easy to watch and not too bogged down in past story. Margo is played by Ann Williams, who was on what seemed like every soap. I think she said Margo was her favorite role. These episodes aren't consecutive, but if you ever have time, they are worth a watch. They are bits and pieces from January and April of 1979 - April in and out of prison, her past calling to her via her psychic powers (and the suicide of Miles' wife Denise, who had murder framing in mind). April 1979 has the end of Winter Austen (such a fantastic soap name). I don't want to drop a ton of links but you can find playlists on Youtube.
    • And the rating 'wars' continue...hehe.
    • Well, it was fun while it lasted for Rebecca Herbst. Le sigh.
    • I am wholeheartedly enjoying this show. I just haven't been able to post as much as I used to. But yes, this episode needs to be submitted for the EMMYs and there needs to be wins. I better NOT see Y&R, DAYS, or B&B winning in categories over BTG. I feel like the only show that is giving BTG an ounce of competition this season is GH.
    • I never thought the day would come, but too much MM for me.
    • I think it may be that the character was brought in for a specific purpose and then became popular with viewers, and the show didn't know how to respond. The choice to pivot away from Simon/India may show that you are right and they didn't care for her...although pairing them up may be another sign they didn't care for her. I don't connect well with this period but it does make me happy seeing some of these characters before the great purge and some of the surprises - I'd forgotten the wonderful Maureen O'Sullivan popped up to be bumped off. So typical of soaps by this point, but it doesn't grate as much as later on when Y&R would bring on any random cast member from Small Wonder. I'm also amazed at this time at just how much money the show must have had. The costumes for the Founder's celebration in summer 1984, or whatever it was, looked gorgeous.
