Oh God! The Leo stuff with his mother was just awful.

From Leo babbling on to his mom's hysteria to more Leo talking about some lousy talent show.

Will and Sonny are back in Arizona? When and Why?

Was the SW clueless to their whereabouts?

Yep… still not drinking the Leo Kool-Aid.

But after today, it’s pretty obvious that Mark is lying, even though I’m still liking the character lol let’s just hope that if they do this storyline, another female character isn’t humiliated or made to look like an idiot. Or we don’t get another bi character who’s written as the worst person in the world.

I felt really bad for Johnny and Chanel today. I expected this to happen though and it opens up the possibility for them to have a lot conflicts in the future, which I hope they do. There’s so much that they could do with this couple instead of just saddling them with a baby. I thought Raven Bowens did really well today too. Carson, on the other hand, really needs work on his angry/devastated facial expression

I'm not surprised that Johnny and Chanel lost the baby. I knew that it was coming and I really don't think Ron is capable of doing that kind of story justice anyway. And they really shouldn't have been saddled with a baby anyway, so as sad and tragic as it is, this is a major relief.

But with Johnny and Chanel no longer having a baby, what's even the purpose of Felicity now? Or is she just going to be a token character used as a prop for other people's stories. (Oh who am I kidding? Of course she is!)

The less I say about Theresa the better. The evil irredeemable sociopath needs to be off my screen soon.

That Leo stuff was horrific -- scene after scene of scenery chewing from both of them. Worst of all, none of it achieved its goal of "redeeming" Leo, allowing us to see inside his soul, and realizing why he is the way he is.

Now Leo tells Dr. Marlena his mother called him a degenerate? That word hasn't been used since Tennessee Williams' Streetcar Named Desire.  And if that really bothered Leo, then the character we've seen all these years makes no sense.

-- So Leo goes from practically crying about his mother to Dr. Marlena to geeking out over hot and hunky Dr. Mark. If this is Kool-Aid, it's so watered down it's pathetic. This is not a changed Leo, it's not an introspective Leo.

-- I like the Mark character, too, although it was an eye-roller to see him hugging a distraught Leo. Ridiculous.

-- I shouldn't admit that I didn't feel much when Chanel lost her baby. Maybe I was too busy noticing that while she was in severe pain, Dr. Mark just stood there, and then just stared at the ultrasound. Hilarious.

That was before he pulled out Wikipedia to announce "One in four pregnancies ends in miscarriages." Jesus, this show.

--Finally, are we to completely forget that Judi Evans EVER played Bonnie? Because Bonnie has disappeared and Adrienne is all that's left.

It was a lot like when Sloan miscarried her and Eric’s baby. It was like they were just trying to get the scene over with, without trying to inject more drama into it. I don’t get it.

Plus, according to spoilers

As for Leo, him geeking out over Mark after everything that just happened is another example of why people don’t like him. There’s no continuous flow with this character’s feelings, emotions, etc. and there hasn’t been for a very long time.

I'll give Leo this one point.  In the scenes with Alex last week, when he was writing the speech to say to his mother, I thought there was more restraint, and there was a genuinely friendly rapport between the two. The idea of multiple shirtless men trying to drink Leo's water was mildly amusing.  And I liked the idea of these two libidinal driven guys using each other as a sounding board.  I would argue that the writing for non-romantic partners on DAYS is something I actually look forward to.

Furthermore, I would argue if they just allowed Leo and Diana to have one long scene together, rather than 18 1-minutes scene-lets, it would have been more impactful.  I think short scenes are unnecessary on streaming, because as a viewer, I don't channel surf between shows when I'm bored like I would if it was on a broadcast network.  So I don't need tidbits to keep me engaged.  And it seems unnecessarily difficult to maintain the energy it takes to convey tension over several short scenes, so they often come off as more contrived.

Once upon a time, there was a chance to tell a story that, in effect, would explain Leo to the audience, but they blew that chance for some ridiculous Diana Colville return that went absolutely nowhere.

I believe there's still an opportunity for John to talk to Leo about how Diana's mom was horrible and allow him to understand the generational patterns that have been replicated.  I hope that they'll explore that after the whole Clyde/Steve, prison-break, Greece trip fiasco is over.

BTW the Alex crossovers are remarkable.  Besides the fact that Ben and Alex look alike, and he shares a similar name to Xander, we also have the same actress playing his Mother and Leo's Mom.  The possibilities seem too tantalizing for RonC to avoid (even if Anjelica died before our eyes on screen).

Are they repeating the same story where Leo breaks up a straight couple or gay one?

Carson Boatman can't act!!!

Btw @AbcNbc247

I recently posted the Pride interview with Adam Huss and Greg Rikaart on the closeted gay thread.

Greg said he would never be friends with someone like Leo but he defended him/actions on the show.

He can't have it both ways.

Adam Huss discussed Leo too.

It's around the 57:00 mark.

Oh and Loved seeing Mark in today's episode.

I knew we weren’t gonna get any follow up with Johnny/Chanel/Paulina today, but still wtf? How do you just not include them in the next episode after something so tragic happens to them? They did the same thing with Eric/Sloan after Sloan miscarried. I don’t get it.

Still, today’s episode was better than the garbage episode that we got after Sloan miscarried.

But I gotta say that Theresa is a total idiot though. When you’re trying to get rid of something, you don’t leave it in the house so that anybody can find it. That was pretty bad, I thought she was smarter than that.

As opposed to Alex, who’s just dumb lol I liked his scene with Brady though. Brady being so anti-Theresa today despite him just sleeping with her is actually a pretty good character dynamic that I think could play into future storyline.

The Eric/Roman scene was good too. I like how Roman used his own past in order to comfort Eric. But I hope Eric isn’t leaving too.

As for Stefan, he was just annoying and stupid today. Days really doesn’t know to what to do with this character. I’m interested in seeing how his scenes with NuGabi will be like tomorrow though.

Thanks for the heads up!

"Carson Boatman still can't act" should be DAYS' answer to "Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead".

    • Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!

    • So, I have been in the hospital all week. I am close to being up to date on my soaps. Now I have to go to the Infusion Ctr daily to get IV antibiotics, for 6 weeks. I am frankly exhausted. A hospital is no place to be when you're sick. Hooked up to machines that go beep beep beep all day & night long. Someone wakes you up every hour on the hour for something, either to stick you with needles or to take your gosh-awful blood pressure for the umpteenth time. So, you don't get any sleep. Now I have a central line, upper right chest. After they "installed" it, I said, I am now Borg. They just stared at me. Apparently scifi is not general knowledge. What happened? I have an infection inside my big toe right foot & it burned the skin on my foot. The burned skin is already better. It was like a bad sunburn. The infection inside the toe is the issue. Oral antibiotics won't even get its attention. So, IV antibiotics plus time.

As Salem bids farewell to John Black on Monday, the "Days" family and fans say a final goodbye to Drake Hogestyn.   From his time as a young man playing baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees to his almost four-decade run as John Black, Drake always did his best. And, while becoming a soap opera icon, he spent almost 40 years at "Days" telling the best stories and taking the younger cast under his wing to make sure they would do their best as well. Thank you, Drake, for the legacy you have left for everyone at "Days." The impact you made on the cast, crew and fans will never be forgotten...and that's a fact.
    • I found an interview with Joseph Breen (Will Jeffries) where he mentions that Reva was put in a coma so Zimmer could go to Hollywood to do a pilot (OMG, if ONLY it had been picked up, LOL) and that Sonni and Josh and Will became a popular with the audience while she was out of commission.  If you want to read the whole thing: https://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?id=47394 Breen was known for being very candid in interviews, I wish I could find more of them. I seem to recall he made a couple of snarky comments about Zimmer, implying she was not above acting like a diva. Sounded to me like he had a lot of respect for Forbes (who went on to have a very strong and varied career after GL).
    • I was so confused why Devon was prying into Nicks love life and then it clicked and I remembered they’re brother-in-laws. Shows how little I pay attention to this show anymore. I was like uh? Do these two even know each other this well?
    • The Bell soaps, B&B and Y&R: cannot watch. If I went by the last time I did I would have to give them both D- but I really don't think it counts when you're not a daily watcher.  DAYS: B+ (Now this is with the knowledge that for years I have given this show a D- because I've been a fan for too long to give it the F it deserved.) GH: A+ (With Korte driving this bus to me the show is so much better! IMO we just had the best NB in so many years I cannot count!) BTG: A solid (Things I love, a few I do not, nothing I hate, still find it in general remarkable.) As always, thanks for doing this thread. I count it. I always look for it & I always post.
    • Okay, I continue to maintain that what is so good about this particular reveal followed by umbrella storyline is that you can see & understand many different points of view where there is not one bad guy or one 100% right person.  About your stated opinion, that Lois & Gloria did the right thing, you know that this was technically an illegal adoption? For it to have been legal the father, if known, would have to have been informed & have signed off on terminating his own paternal rights. And, of course, it is clear how many people they lied to.  Personally I feel like Lois is going to take the biggest "public" blame with Lulu a close second in the blame category. I am looking forward to a tongue lashing I hope Brook Lynn gives to Gloria. I continue to be more than annoyed with Dante. First his attitude toward Gio with regards to Rocco & a drinking game & its results. Second his attitude toward Lulu. Meanwhile enjoying the show every day!
    • Lois and Gloria did the right thing I feel knowing it was Camila that raised Gio has BL feeling some jealousy No one is saying that Camila was a bad mother to Gio I believe it will be Gio saying that Camila was great to him, thanking Lois and Gloria to get BL to see truth
    • Its realistic for Dani and  true of how the character thinks and operates. We've known her long enough to by that this would be consistent with her past characterizatioin
    • Random takes: - What was even the point of that jeweler guy? Also—Dani was borderline harassing him. - I know I’m probably in the minority here, but I want Jacob and Kat to happen. I need something messy to completely dismantle the Duprees—and Katomas just isn’t cutting it.  - I officially can’t stand Jacob and his wife. Same goes for Anita and Vernon. - Hayley’s corset was just as ugly as it looked uncomfortable. - I genuinely don’t remember when or how Derek and Ashley reconciled—and I’m someone who didn’t even mind their storyline! LMAO. - Tuesday’s episode was a mess. - Dani finding out about Hayley’s pregnancy and immediately thinking, “She’s faking it”—huh?! What writer thought that was a realistic reaction? I get denial, but that leap was absurd. I agree the ‘Leslie Victorious’ moment was way OTT. But hey, at least I wasn’t yawning. The following episode, where she handed over her daughter’s last few belongings was much better. - I can’t with the constant back-and-forth between Orphey Gene’s and the Country Club. I forgot this was such a soap trope, but even back in my loyal viewer days (late ‘90s, early 2000s), it wasn’t this bad. While GH has a ton of beautiful sets, we’re stuck with the same three—and half of them are ugly. Also: it’s been way too long since we had a party, gala, or any kind of event. I know the Richardsons’ anniversary gala (back in late April) has had a big ripple effect, but I was kinda getting used to those large-scale episodes. Fingers crossed they don’t go with Guza.
