Tells you how out of the loop I am - I didn't even know until now. Maybe they should go back to the Emmys not being seen...

I'd agree that the EMMYs should not be seen again but not b/c of the fans. I don't know if you watched it or not, but I was not impressed by the ceremony. It was a downgrade compared to the previous two years. IMO, it looked thrown together and the cheesy bits throughout the show didn't help. They really should've taken a page from last year's primetime EMMYs on Fox. It would've been cute had they done vignettes to past soaps and had them present but whatever. And CBS missed the mark by not promoting or teasing The Gates or any other soap.

I agree that Harrington isn't bad.  There is just no reason for him to be Jagger.  He could be any blonde FBI guy handling Jason and flirting with Carly and it would have the same affect. Being Jagger doesn't add anything to the character.  He now is just someone who knew Sonny thirty years ago.

Rena/Lois just really need a story like you said.  It makes me so frustrated the show got her back after all these years and she's just in the background of her boring daughter's drama.

GH winning multiple Emmys is sad and why I feel like there will be no change anytime soon.

Sidenote-did the daytime Emmys cut the Eden McCoy Award for Younger Actor?  I must have missed that news lol.

They got rid of that category because they didn't want to give the award to the Clay Twins.

I restate my question from last month. If Finn can no longer have Violet, to whom will she go?

A. Elizabeth

B. Hayden

C. Chase and Brook Lynn

D. Jeff and Carolyn

I think that the show has decided & they picked C. ChaLynn look to me like the pending parental units. Just exactly what they need, in the bloom of their married life, a "precocious" female child 9 going on 33.

I think the last time GH was overall great was 1996. Unbelievable that the show has had varying levels of poor quality going on 28 years now!

The 1997 spin-off had a lot to do with starting the ball rolling. Spin-offs always hurt the mother show; just look at Another World. All the hospital stuff was given to the spin-off, with GH left with the mob stuff and "adventure" stories.

I remember the moment the show started to fall: the December 1996 primetime special where they showed Laura had faked her death. The start of poor writing that never went away. Maybe they should have killed Laura off for real; that would have brought the show more organically to the dark place they wanted to go to anyway.

I think the Ashfords are only still around because FV has zero investment in Black story, and it is easier for him to keep them around in mediocre plots and say that's diversity vs. having to actually cast new people and come up with new stories. Portia, Trina and Stella are great but I'd nuke Curtis and T.J. tomorrow.

These shows are soooo bad at writing for Black men. Bland, one-dimensional characterizations that reek of disinterest and tokenism. Some of the casting has been uninspired as well.

As of July EK will be sole HW with CVE as BDW but BDW's are in the writers room with the HW so they have easier access than the SW's

So is Van Etten HW or not??? Ally has called him head writer twice now. This just from the emmy's

Maybe he's the one who created the storyline while he was head writer...?

Why is that? I know it's true but I've always wondered why SWs are not in the Writers Room.

That's what I thought she meant.
