I don't think it would make a difference. I remember some fans used to send death threats out to actors during the Liz/Jason/Sam years.

And of course Laura got those types of threats when she was at GL.

It's a very loud, very deranged minority position.

And, the new photos have "inspired" a new graphical bashing of LW. Bless her heart. She just shrugs it off & keeps going. I hate it for her.

I feel sure he is not going to wake up. The previews say that someone supports Tracy. So I figure she takes it hard.

Well-deserved truthbombs.

Ahhh Kate 2.0...already forgettable for me.

Tbf I was focused on Liz and Ewen at that time. Sorry that went sideways quick. But...that's Elizabeth for you.

Thank you for the tea. I know KMc was growing to focus more on her direction, but that she felt a way about that plot point.

You're not wrong about any of this, my friend, lol!

Oh, and people need to leave LW the [!@#$%^&*] alone.

I don't agree at all that Laura is not prominent these last few years - she is mayor and has been central in a ton of key story in the last few years, shockingly so. We all (and by all I mean virtually everyone in this conversation) discussed it that positive evolution for her prominence just last year during the February sweeps period as one of the few consistent bright spots of the show in recent years. It's only the last few months she's been on a lot less. I find her pairing with Kevin boring as hell myself but it's been reasonably popular.

She's been around, helped by Spencer's presence, but I do think the core of the character has not been there in a very long time - probably since that fateful maternity leave (not that I am blaming a maternity leave, more how the whole thing ended up playing out backstage, allegedly).

That all being said, they have still leaned heavily on Laura's new role as mayor to make her a major and active part of a ton of canvas-wide story happening all across the canvas, almost like she's a police chief. Not just in one sweeps period, but for years. That and the heavy use of the vets like Kevin, Mac, Felicia, etc. in recent years are the things I can consistently credit the last tiresome decade for getting right.

Truthfully, the OG female vet that has stayed consistently in story is Anna. She has had a new relationship or a story about her or her past consistently. Genie has been in and out of that since her return. I think her family being mostly gone hinders what she does best, which is emotional material. But truthfully, she was pretty centered until Spencer died and Nikolas was written out.

For me it was the year after Lucky died. She has even said they just flat out gave up writing for her after she wallowed in misery for months, which was realistic for Laura at that point but like everything Guza did, he didn’t have a way back from the edge. They wanted to keep stretching out Luke and Laura reuniting, so they did the Felicia story and Luke looking for Lucky without telling her.

I know others don’t agree, but I felt the show was not very good all around in 1999 through the end of Wendy’s tenure. I thought there were several forgettable and miscast characters- JY’s Lucky, Nikolas, Jerry, Roy, Chloe, Juan and Hannah being many examples. Bobbie was sidelined twice by terrible pairings, Felicia was almost destroyed, and when Sonny came back he ate the show up in a way he hadn’t before. Then they paired him with Carly.

Carly and Sonny were the highlight of the episode for me. LW and MB’s best chemistry is when they are talking each other off the brink or tearing each others heads off

Kristina is just too damn grown and too experienced in the toxicity of Sonny for this reaction to ring true for me. I wish they linked it to her abuse trauma from Kiefer instead of making her look like so clueless and naive. Good performance from Mansi though.

I think Michael Easton did some good acting as well in those Finn and Gregory scenes. The montage caught me off guard, is Greg dead? i certainly hope he is.

This wedding was a total snoozefest BTW, woof. Changes are necessary.

Oh I've already said a few too many times lately how dull the show was for me in 99/00. I stopped watching regularly around that point.

I have to admit I did like Jerry.

The Lucky "death" makes sense as well. I mostly remember her being put into that dull, dull pairing with Stefan that you could tell no one at the show gave a damn about.

Whoever said GH was trying to sell Chase and BLQ's nuptials as The Wedding of the Century was bang-on, lol.

I'm sure JS and AS are lovely people IRL, but as I've said before, there is nothing about the characters they play, especially in regards to romantic or sexual chemistry (or lack thereof), that makes them interesting to me.  Foster and Annabelle had more "heat" than Chase and BLQ, and that is just so wrong on so many levels!

    • Very. They're building up his story again and picking the perfect time to do so. As the SilkPress storyline climaxes and go off in several great directions, they are building up that story to take a turn.

    • @Soapsuds Thanks for posting Night by night Mon 8pm The Rookies edged Gunsmoke but attracted younger(more desirable) viewers.NBC failed with Born Free/Smothers Brothers (how many different series did those 2 get??) 9-11pm  Maude/Rhoda/Medical Center dominated on CBS,but Football and Movies were competitive on an occasional basis. ABC tried  SWAT/Caribe later in the season and the former worked for them. Tues 8-11 pm CBS all the way Good Times, MASH, Hawaii Five O,Barnaby Jones. NBC had the fading Adam 12,Movie and Police Story mmm...don't see that listed? ABC Happy Days, which ABC decided to keep despite lackluster ratings, the Movie of the Week and Marcus Welby-once pulling big numbers but no longer. 8pm NBC had a new hit with Little House, easily beating Sons and Daughters, which was axed and replaced with Tony Orlando, which did much better. ABC had That's My Mama and the Wed movie. 9pm Cannon was the lead here as Lucas Tanner failed to capitalize on the LHOTP leadin. ABC continued the movie. 10pm Manhunter started strong for CBS but petered out and was cancelled. Petrocelli manged to beat Get Christie Love, which was replaced by Baretta-no ratings winner but ABC decided to renew. Thurs Another CBS night with The Waltons and a movie. ABC counterprogrammed with Odd Couple/Paper Moon then Barney Miller/Karen NBC did even worse with Sierra and replaced it with Mac Davis which improved ratings quite a bit. However, it was moved to 9pm for Sunshine/Bob Crane 9pm Some good numbers for ABC with Streets of San Francisco fending off Ironside,Archer and Mac Davis. 10pm Harry O had a slim victory over Movin On Fri 8-11 NBCs best night Sanford/Chico/Rockford/Police Woman. 8pm CBS had high hopes for Planet of the Apes but it bombed. Replacement Khan did even worse. Paul Sand and We'll Get By were tossed in at the end of the season. With poor lead ins the Friday movie didn't deliver. ABC's odd line up saw Kodiak flop, Six Million dollar Man struggle and Texas Wheelers  quickly cancelled. Kung Fu was brought in @8 and Six Million moved to 9. Then Kolchak took over at 8 and Hot*l Baltimore/Odd Couple 9-10. Despite controversy Hot*l flopped. 10pm ABC tried Kolchak then Baretta and finally Get Christie Love Sat CBS lead  with #1 AITF then Paul Sand/MTM/Bob Newhart/Carol Burnett. Paul Sand lost too much of the lead in so CBS spun off The Jeffersons and it was a smash. NBC did OK with Emergency (which beat Paul Sand on occasion, thus hastening that show's demise) and a movie. ABC was a disaster with New Land/Kung Fu and Nakia all failing. They introduced a movie @9 and moved Kung Fu to 8. Sun  NBC  with Disney and Mystery Movie (Columbo McCloud, MacMillan and Wife/Amy Prentiss)did well. ABC flopped with Sonny Bono and recovered by moving Six Million Dollar Man from Fri as a lead in to the movie. CBS hoped Apples Way would be another Waltons but no, so Cher did what Sonny couldn't. Kojak and Mannix successfully finished out the night. Two other shows on the ratings list were Adams of Eagle Lake starring Andy Griffith. Only 2 episodes aired and did well, so I'm not sure what happened there. As for The Law it was a series follow up to a 2 and a half hour NBC special movie .

    • Trust is very easily lost and very hard to re-build.
    • Oh, I know it was. I was just talking about how it's not giving me parallels to Caroline dying. It's really as far from it as possible.  But about the foreshadowing - Hahahhahah. Yes. And you missed one - Liam googling - "what is cancer"...
    • GH 2-17-21 Denise Alexander's last appearance https://www.instagram.com/p/DJdjXgwJ1Ez/
    • @Maxim This Liam dying out of the blue was crafted in a hurry for three reasons: 1. To facilitate JMW's leave 2. To prop Steffy - 'Oh, Steffy has so much grace and moral superiority that she ignored everything that swine HoLo did to tell her for the sake of their daughters. Queen Stephanie would be so proud of her!' 3. Distracting Steffy enough to give Lunacy an easy way to slither into Finn's life. Once Luna discovers that Lame is dying, she'll play that card: 'Dad, life is too short and precious!' If this was an intentional story, we would've had the typical B&B foreshadowing - Liam faceplanting into a bowl of pasta, Lame missing meetings, being forgetful. Instead, Lame does an impulsive quick quit and $B doesn't even care enough to make a single attempt to get him back? Please.
