They continue to hire hack writers. They reward them. Ron laughed at the Days viewers as HW. How can you have someone so toxic on your writing team?

I have to agree with this. I haven't seen one false move from BTG until seeing that Ron Carlivati was hired. I mean, WT actual F? I hate this.

No, I'm not throwing away all my good feelings about the show, but this really gives me pause.

Beyond the Gates Ribbon Cutting

EEEK! This is so exciting!!

As for the list of writers, I remain hopeful. It's all about who's at the helm, and Val Jean and Guza are strong writers. It doesn't bother me that Ron Carlivati is a BW, because at the end of the day he's not producing the stories. My issue has always been RC as a HW, never as a breakdown writer. So many times we don't find out a writer is crap until their promoted to HW, but leading up to that their lackluster talent does not reflect onscreen. I think the same will be apparent here with RC.

Ribbon Cutting:

CBS gathered today with the cast, crew and executive producers of its new history-making daytime drama series BEYOND THE GATES, the debut project from the CBS Studios/NAACP Venture, for a ribbon cutting ceremony on the show stages outside of Atlanta, Ga., prior to the first table read.

Further commemorating the start of season one, the cast came together and contributed signed scripts and letters to their future selves that will be placed inside a time capsule and encased on the series stages for future retrieval. Physical production for the series starts Friday, Nov. 1.

I am very excited for this new forward step in daytime!  Fans have had too many depressing years lately.  We all need to support this new venture.

Generations didn’t level up until NBC mandated Jorn Winther come in as Senior EP to guide/school Sally Sussman Morina on what it actually means to produce and write an interesting daytime drama (but once he had given that show any momentum, it was already too late).

I'm not suggesting GENERATIONS was in fantastic shape when NBC cancelled it, but I do think it was getting there and that the network simply was too impatient.  Winther, IMO, needed another year or so to stabilize that show.

So, could we assume Guza either isn't moving to Atlanta, or wasn't on set for the table read?

The event was billed as one for the cast, crew and executive producers. However, in the video I shared, I did see Phideaux Xavier (director at GH, and now also at Beyond the Gates), there while everyone was clapping. Therefore, it's possible others were there but not photographed.
