I don't mind how the show pivoted Alexis to the newspaper, but I prefer her as a lawyer.  And one more lawyer in town means maybe we can possibly get rid of Diane?

I think Mo's son is okay, but this is too much of a story for him.  Plus, Joss doesn't need MORE to do.  Trina, Joss, Spencer already have plenty to do.  This is just a weird side story.  Adam is just not that close to Joss (thanks for his name lol).  If he was, say, Cameron's roomate and Cameron was in this story it would make more sense.  This reeks of nepotism if you ask me and I honestly don't think Mo's son is awful or anything.  There just really isn't a good reason for this story.

I have the same feeling, but it could just be an overall mental health story without suicidal issues.  I also am unclear if he's taking prescribed medicine or drugs.  I'll be honest sometimes I tune out a little to this story especially if Joss is around.

I agree that Joshua Benard is a decent actor. I have no problem with him at all, and I'm not bothered that Mo opened doors for him. Like you, though, I don't yet see a reason for this story, and especially have a problem with Joss' constant involvement.

If they're working towards a stronger tie to other characters, they'd better do it soon.

Agreed.  It's really hard to invest in Adam when he only interacts with Joss.  This seems like it's going to be a heavy story and I find it hard to get into it when I don't really know much about the character or how he would fit on the canvas.  It's just an excuse to make Joss the hero and the show already knocks us over the head with how awesome Joss is.  I know I am going to regret saying this, but even if he became Esme's friend somehow thus interacting with Spencer and Trina even Kevin/Laura and everyone starts to see signs he was acting erratically it would help.

I agree about having Adam interact with Esme, Spencer, Trina, etc., would help. Still, even though the actor is 19 IRL, he reads younger to me. I don't think he seems like someone who'd be part of that circle.

The crazy thing is that GH obviously did Maurice Benard a huge favor by hiring his son -- and then failed to set him up for success. Again, that's no comment on Josh Benard's acting abilities, because I thin he's doing a solid job.

Trina, Joss, and Spencer seem more sophisticated than him.  That's why I could see him bonding with a similarly confused Esme.  Not romantically.  I don't really want that, but find a common bond and then Adam is around more people.  Perhaps he starts getting attached to Esme and other people notice in her life-it brings a lot of characters potentially to the fold.  No one needs to be obsessed or around Joss except Dex.  At this point she's starting to remind me of JMB's Lulu where like 4 guys were obsessed with her at once.

Agree with you. Feels like they're giving Eden McCoy the Laura Wright playbook -- and that is not a compliment.

In other news, that Quartermaine Christmas tree is lame. It's much too small and doesn't scream excess. Hopefully, the Tracy complaints we see in the previews are about the meager decorations.

I don't see suicide but I also don't see the problems others are seeing with Adam. Or Joss with Adam, although I was very glad when she began to tell others about Adam. And I think Josh Benard is very talented. Having established that Adam only studies, pops pills, attends class & wants to be around Joss, how would they involve him with other people? Dex, Trina & Spencer could come in the room when he was there studying with Joss & they could then meet. Also, J. Benard is ahead in the game already as he now has a union card, has a gig on his resume, has made some money & has an idea of what happens in television production.

I was just listening to an audio interview with Robert Kelker Kelly & his first job was as a stand-in on a primetime show. Then he got promoted to being one of the background actors. He said the most important first lesson was patience & that what you do most on television production is wait around.

Brennan is Pikeman, yes, but when did we find out he was head of the WSB?

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
