The introduction of Rose on ATWT. Seemed like it was destined to be one of those goofy, yuk-yuk doppelgänger/trading places stories (plus it was bogged down in Simon/Katie mess) but I remember many people preferring Rose to Lily before it was all said and done.

Now, me, I loved Rose/Lily from the get-go & was only mad when they cut it short. The only thing about it that bugged me is this idea that this husband could have sex with the twin & not know it was her. That always bothers me. I just find it not at all credible.

The late great AMC/OLTL crossover with baby swap, helicopter crash in the woods & 2 pregnant women giving birth under primitive circumstances when 2 babies were born but then suddenly there was only one. I began hating this because there was no way to keep up with it except to watch both shows. So for me, already busy with many soaps it meant I had to add OLTL. This really annoyed me!! But, it turned out to be SUCH a great story, told like it was a well-oiled machine.

Salvaging that storyline was one of the few things, I think, Hogan Sheffer did right as HW on ATWT.  Granted, he went the typical, "I must've passed out in between giving birth to twins!" route in explaining how Rose and Lily looked so much.

I was also going to add the Simon/Katie mess lead to Katie’s downfall/comeuppance at the WOAK at the Endicott Awards, and then Simon & Katie developed into a popular coupling once they were finally paired together late 2000-02. I never understood why the show later decimated their chemistry every time Simon returned.

Another story that comes to mind is on Days the whole Subsex/Subspawn story with the JT/Zach paternity and baby switch was widely loathed and decried until the story’s final weeks/months when the story came to a surprisingly satisfying conclusion.

On Y&R a lot of people found the Veronica Landers as Sarah the Maid story ridiculous but the moment Veronica lost it and shot both Joshua and Nikki, the rest is history.

    • I think all the suits are fit too tight, except for Jon Lindstrom's. DC lawyers/doctors are not all LA fashion elites. Yes, maybe Tomas would have a more modern cut to his suit, but an established guy like Bill wouldn't go around looking like that lonely button on his jacket was ready to explode constantly.
    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.
