Although I agree that there hasn't been enough exposition about Theresa's motives (perhaps because she doesn't have a talk-to). I think her objectives were clarified both in the scene with Konstantin when they revealed the con.

It is not about the money (Alex having the inheritance doesn't directly benefit Theresa because she'd be staying in his apartment either way).  She is punishing Xander.  Which is also why the writers are pairing Xander with Sarah because they want to maximize the audience support for Xander and why he deserves the Kiriakis fortune.

I thought sticking to Xander was one of the reasons Theresa agreed.  Not the sole reason because that's pretty flimsy.

I don't necessarily think there needs to be much rooting value behind Xander to get the Kiriakis fortune.  It's his.  It's not like anyone likes Alex much anyway and Xander would obviously be very generous with Maggie.  He doesn't need Sarah for that.  To me, Xander clearly stands on his own as just a better character than Alex, so I think perhaps waiting for the reveal when Xander is confused and devastated and turns to Sarah would feel more organic and thought out.

It is well established that they hate each other.  He's done some pretty bad things to her, and he was partially responsible for the chain of events that led her to breakup with Brady.  So, there's that...

And, although Xander has been sympathetic recently, he has a sorted past.  Which is why it may have seemed important to undo the kidnapping death of Susan.

(btw thanks for reminding me that he's a Kiriakis not a Dimera

With LK getting out of her contract I began wondering, when was the last time she actually had something to Do??? The last year she was actively used as Kate???? So far I'm Getting 2016 with the Whole Deimos Debacle, can anyone refute this?

Theresa definitely has a reason to hate Xander.  And Xander isn't a good guy imo.  I just think he's an overall better character than Alex.  It's been years since these things happened to her and she moved on with her life...until one day she didn't.  There hasn't been any indication she's been longing for Brady or plotting revenge against Xander for all these years until 3 months ago lol

I think undoing Susan's death was probably more to prop Ava than Xander so she could be paired with Steve Burton.  I don't doubt it was the plan all along since we could never be rid of Susan.

This year.  The story of Kate, Marlena, and Kayla dying was pretty heavily featured.  And then Kate's possible murder at the hands of BrainwashedBo and her disappearance.  I am not saying it was a great story, but she was used quite a bit.

I mean She also framed him for attempted rape so.....

Also Theresa Grew-up after her first 2/3 years to be self conscious she knew She framed Xander for attempted Rape and send him to jail being innocent (of this crime) and deserved his Dislike, so I feel she wouldn't normally cross him! Of course that's Ron Trying to rewrite History again!

Yes you are right about the die/undies this year, I guess I didn't consider it because it was a bad story, weirdly the only moment that sticked to my mind was Stephanie grieving, AK actually delivered in those!

But I was wondering in between, has she gotten some central attention in between those 7 years? All in all I guess I should count her pretending to be blind then lol

Yeah, the narrative we have been hearing about Theresa is that she was a good mom and got her life together.  I am not saying she can't be a schemer, but I need a better reason than "I hate Xander".

I think Kate actually has been used quite a bit these last few years, but a lot of the time I felt she was weirdly inserted into stories or odd romances.  I think Kate has been a lost character for a long time that suffers without her children on the canvas.   I am not advocating taking LK off contract or anything, but sometimes I felt the show was using LK/Kate just because she was on contract not because the story dictated it.

I not saying it is a "good" reason, I'm just saying the motive is not money

To me, the really ridiculous part is that Theresa met Alex once, they made out, and then she decided to change his life and cause possible estrangement from his family.

YOU GOT ME! That's what I meant! The woman spent 30 years chasing wealth and all of a sudden is ok with being poor! Come on That makes no sense!

Where a Former CEO would be OK with being reduced to being a Barmaid?

I don't think Roman/Kate are poor.  Roman spent years on the police force/ISA and I assume the pub makes money even if we don't see any non main character customers.  It just feels a little quaint for Kate.  This is a life I could see Roman being satisfied with, but not Kate.  Last we heard (many, many years ago) Roman still owned Roman/Marlena's old house, so I am not sure why they don't just at least live there off screen.

ok so they're middle class, still i don't see Kate Happy with it, as you seem to agree, I was actually hoping they would work around it After Victor's Passing, I thought he would leave her something in the will, and it could also bring tension between her and Roman!

    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.
